  1. Yet a number of football pundits have heralded the signing of Defoe (Redknapp Snr and the celebrated expert Christopher Sutton to name but two). As for Davis, a 34 year old with well over a hundred international caps being a desperate signature, aye we’ll take your word for it Billy.
  2. Hmmm, I’m not sure what do you think, it’s an awful lot of money eh!? F*ck the charity bet though, what’s in it for me??
  3. Pretty sure you would have taken him though if available to bolster your forward line. Big Kris Boyd finished the league’s top scorer in his last full season with Killie at the age of 34. Even with 2 years on him, you’d hope that Defoe would be just as predatory in the box. No guarantees, but looking forward to watching how it pans out for him.
  4. Comparing like for like performances at the same level (ie the EPL), their goals to games ratio is wildly different ya crackpot. I’m not sure how I can improve upon that illustration.
  5. Hmm!? Kenny’s record in the EPL; 6 goals in 55 Apps. (1 in 9). Defoe’s record in the EPL; 162 goals in 496 Appa (1 in 3). Aye similar.
  6. Nah, I don’t think anyone’s suggesting that, but approaching 500 games in the EPL & 160+ league goals puts a wee bit of distance between him and the much respected Kenny Miller. Pretty sure fans of most other Scottish Clubs would be enthused at the prospect of Defoe joining them.
  7. I couldn’t give a flying fu*k to most of the posters on here Kinc(with a couple of exceptions worth reading) with regards to our match threads. I find it difficult to recognise who most of them really support tbh. Won’t be at the Cup game, but can’t wait for the trip to Rugby Pk.
  8. Jack, Davis & Arfield in the middle, Big Lafferty, Defoe & Morelos up front. How does that look? We’ve enough permutations across the back to compete with most sides, and irrespective of how sometimes we look so solid yet vulnerable in defence, I’ll take a 3-2 win any-day![emoji6] You’re right, if we want anything out of this year, we may as well take some chances and do something different. 60/40 possession tip-tap across the middle of the park doesn’t hit the mark.
  9. I know you’re not a big fan of Lafferty Kinc, but he’d still walk into any other side apart from the *****! SG doesn’t have an embarrassment of riches up front, so could you see both Defoe and Morelos playing either side of him, picking up what he does best in the box? It might seem an unfashionable approach to a forward line these days, but whilst he’s in the squad let’s use him for what he’s always been pretty good at?
  10. Working down in Lichfield later this month so it’s Burton Albion Vs Bradford City before heading home for our game away at Livi. Looking forward to it, just going by the number of pubs in the Town. [emoji106]
  11. Aye, but which small provincial club wouldn’t love a sugar daddy like wee Kenny though eh JG, It’s some story!
  12. Sky Blues slipping up at Seaview, (pal mentioned it was a cracking game) keeps it tight. Missing our home game against St Johnstone, to head over for the LC Final Vs Linfield . Would love to stay over for the league fixture the weekend after, which could be a huge game, but it’s either or sadly!
  13. We all know, it seems that SG still has to get to grips with getting the best out of Morelos and Big Lafferty as a useful pair Kinc, adding Defoe to the mix, might just be the key to unlocking that wee conundrum?
  14. Still a very sore point for many Finns to this day. They didn’t want ANY involvement or interference with either the Nazis or the Reds, yet were still forced to pay HUGE reparations for years after the end of hostilities. (A tour guide explained last summer in Helsinki)
  15. Plus every c*nt, telling you what their pointless New Year’s resolutions are! Aye, the same as last year eh?
  16. 90k a week for the pair? true the fans are desperate but I just can’t see it. Fair enough though, once you’ve had chance to scrutinise the exact details of each deal, please come back on and share it with the rest of us. It can then perhaps form the basis for further discussion? Until then, your wild speculations mean very little RG.
  17. Not sure it’s an ‘odd’ transfer, don’t Gerrard & Defoe share the same Agent? It’s the type of connection we all hoped SG would bring to the club. It is a gamble for a guy nearing the end of his career perhaps, but one worth taking for a player of his calibre? Hell yes. As for Steven Davis, even at 34, he’s still got at least a couple of seasons ‘working’ the middle of the park left in him I’m sure, (a quality player on the ball that we’ve been crying out for),he knows what to expect from our league and will be fine no problem. People might point to a reoccurring Achilles problem, but he carried that pretty much throughout his first stint with us. I’d love to see him back in the light blue.
  18. Clyde SSB reporting that Defoe will join the Gers on an 18 month loan deal (on Twatter) and will join the squad at their winter break camp in Tenerife. Would be delighted if that IS the case. [emoji106]
  19. O’Hare was a cracking wee player, well documented that both he and McGovern didn’t settle at Leeds as Clough brought them in. With the benefit of hindsight, how wrong did it turn out for the Yorkshire club?
  20. Would love to see Stevie Davis back at Ibrox. The lad could still do a cracking job for us in the 2nd half of the season.
  21. Probably like most, watch it through almost blind loyalty at Hogmanay but that’s the worst yet. Usually get one or two laughs at least, but that was f*ckin brutal. eek!
  22. Surprising and disappointing result against Hull on Saturday, tough one tomorrow at Forest away, definitely one for the telly though, with a recovery pint.[emoji106] Back on it Leeds.
  23. Brilliant thread, that was well worth an hour’s viewing with a cuppa![emoji106] May I post this one, if there isn’t a current puzzler running?
