  1. SIMPLY PUT TO THEM TONIGHT…THIS SEASON, NOTHING MEANS MORE TO OUR CLUB THAN THE FIRST TEAM SQUAD AND SPENDING APPROPRIATELY TO ENSURE WE GET OUT LEAGUE ONE. NOTHING ELSE WILL DO AT ANY COST!!!
  2. Yip spot on. Different types of players. Miller won fouls from aerial battles with him flailing around if an opponent sneezed at him. Ruth is more on the ground type, running around defenders where refs have been well trained looking for simulation.
  3. Lee Miller done it for years and he was a club hero!
  4. Aye it’s all about confidence and supporters, well…supporting him, giving him lots of encouragement. You may find through playing together they form a natural strong partnership. I suppose this’ll depend on Sheerin playing them at the same time and both staying clear of injuries. The only way we are gonna find out is to try it. 4 goals in less than 90 mins is well worth a punt. Let’s make it so.
  5. Seems like a good run out for the lad. Hope he’s not picked up any injuries. Lucky that we’re on a wee break I suppose with another game under his belt
  6. It seems like people are changing their opinion on Ruth on here? I hope so!
  7. It always has because they are shit [emoji23]
  8. I think they be biting the hands that feeds. It’s hard to make change after they’ve already got their hands on your ST cash. Even if you do go on and make a turnaround (which I doubt) I think Grant’s race is run. You couldn’t have picked a harder game to appease the situation v Killie at home. My best guess is he’ll be away before the end of October. Once the trust from the fans has gone so should he. A poor statement generalising fans who I’m sure for some will be angry and disappointed as they support the club through thick and thin as well as being well behaved.
  9. Surely a modern football manager knows he needs to look at every game in isolation. We can’t be arrogant to assume that teams will alter their shape to accommodate us, there are times when we need to match up to negate their threat - yes, even in league one. If Sheerin is a one trick pony then he will not last in ANY job. He needs to have players that can adopt any system he chooses or need to play to get best results.
  10. I think you’d have 1000 offers of Falkirk fans driving him over the bridge…and I mean driving him over the bridge [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. The guy is absolutely deluded. I think he thinks he is still a big name in football these days. Haven’t seen much of him or Pars have this season but what I have seen leaves me to think we dodged a bullet as I believe we were looking at him too. He is an egotistical waste of space. I watched the RR game on TV on Wednesday, every time the camera panned in on him he was constantly micro managing each player and constantly telling where they were to play? How does this level of management allow players to express their abilities on the park. If you listen to his interviews his bluster is embarrassing. Puts Pep in the shade! The trouble is he’s only fooling himself. Get shot tomorrow and get someone in to resurrect your season and get your team back into a better position in the league and start again next season. 16. Hard to defend that today as we looked lost. Well done again to Ruth and Kenna of course. Sheerin needs to get his mind cleared and look to find out strengths and stop the perseverance of the formula that it looks we don’t have the mindset or players to play. If we continue to play slow ponderous possession we will get hurt. I felt today we were our own worst enemy and invited problems. EF did not sit back and do what Dumbarton done two weeks ago, they defended from the front and I don’t think many expected this. Two great goals but in the end Lucky to gather the 3 points. Big improvement needed against Airdrie as the home fans are becoming restless. Another poor display will have the place in a meltdown. Can only hope he learns from this and not convinced our DOF is not involved in strategies and team selection similar to Martindale when both Holt and Hopkins were at Livvy. 17. My view on these. It’s all about communication communication communication. Yes the questioning is a bit weak at times but it still gives a view from the club re the manager’s thinking and injury news etc. It can also act as an good opportunity to praise to individual players and for the manager to provide explanations for actions - like why buy a player and put him out on loan? (That was an opportunity missed) It wasn’t that long we were bemoaning the silence for the club. Remember a good few years back we used to have a full half hour preview that was aired on central FM called The Falkirk Football Program? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Sorry to quote my own post here but people criticise the club for not listening to their views. I make a suggestion and within 2 hours it’s arranged. That’s what I call service!!! What a club[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I know I’ve been there. My comments are not directed as the bulk of Falkirk fans. Going back over the years we’ve had some success. We were trying to get into top 6 just over a decade ago and in so trying to get to the dizzy heights not seen since the Jeffries era but some very unhappy about even at that time. Every club has fans that are never happy. I can’t help the way I feel that some people come across. I mentioned in an earlier post about fans being either all sugar or all shite. Nothing has happened to make me think differently. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I think the most disappointing thing for most on here is the role the Rawlins are playing and look detached from financing and taking and active role in shaping our future. I think we all expected much much more considering their involvement and their bluster. Of course, we are assuming that he (Phil) was instrumental behind the scenes at Stoke and Orlando? Maybe his input was investment only and it was others who drove the change and formulated their successful strategies. As many have mentioned on here it is difficult to impact wholesale changes at this time as the club have already got their hands on our cash. The banner at Montrose last Saturday would have resonated with a few on the board and could signal the start of a future unrest amongst the fans. I say that because I think there are a good percentage willing to give the current incumbents a chance to see how and if the football side improves between now and Christmas. I’m pretty sure that there’s no improvement then changes will be made on all fronts. I think it could be a good idea to have the board meet with a cross representation of fans to discuss how we move forward without preloaded questions so we can get our head rounds what the real focus is here. The people who have ponied up the cash and bought shares should have a voice as shareholders and need to make their voices heard in a constructive manner. It is still early in the season so let’s see what happens. Football is a results based business and I’m afraid drive the mood on forums like these. I sometimes feel we could have played 8 games, won 8 games and some on here would still not be happy - sometimes some of our fans are only happy when they’re not happy! I’m sorry but that’s how I feel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I think it takes balls on own up and show that they made a boob in signing Wilson. The good thing is that this has been recognised and necessary action taken. I’m sure the people who don’t agree with Sheerins vision would be the first to slate him for doing nothing Let’s hope we bring in someone today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. There is a difference between ‘voicing your concerns’ as you put it and embarrassing yourself in public with a tyrant of offensive abuse and frankly lucky not to be ejected from the stand. This is f**k all to do with sympathising with the board but more to do with trying to stop two guys being lifted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I think you are correct. His role is Head Coach and just maybe he is taking time to settle into his new role getting used to working with a DOF who is supposed to be managing other football aspects? Time will tell. I get the feeling from some on here that the mind made up after only 8 league games that his time is up. There must have been a fair few disappointed on Saturday when Ross made the goal for Ruth to score. As some mentioned papering over the cracks FFS. As many have mentioned on here, he comes across as a decent bloke who appears honest on his and the teams performance assessments. I’m sure if he feels that he is not up to the job he’ll walk away. The trouble with the club set up now is we don’t know who is really pulling the strings and how much real input Sheerin has. We talk on here about having the biggest budget in the league but how much do we really know and how many players has he really signed? I like most could not make sense of his interview on Saturday I’m surprised the club never sense checked it before it was put out. Even him trying to remember the 3 players changed from the previous week was embarrassing for him - maybe he’ll reflect on this and in future decline from commenting until had time to prepare his thoughts and give himself time for composure - In football, sometimes emotions run high. You may had guessed, I’m still firmly behind him and I’m sure the majority of fans are. A good win on Saturday against EF followed by 3 winnable matches will give us better insight what the future holds. I think the playing side needs stability more than ever but above that who knows? I suppose on the playing side we’d need to wait and see how the DOF role pans out, how successful the model is and what criticism is levelled at the DOF role for failure. Interesting times ahead.
