  1. Looking a wee bit more lively with Fraser going beyond Dykes and stretching the defence a bit.
  2. Felt like that after the game against Ireland at Parkhead in 2014. We obviously ended up chucking that group after being in a great position mind. Does feel strange to have won a tricky nervy game like that after being up against it.
  3. Get to Serbia and play for pens. We're fuckin class at them.
  4. Definitely feels like she's lost the dressing room here. Just from family/friends/colleagues and folk i follow on social media, it seems the general opinion of her and the SG have taken a nosedive the last few days and massively today.
  5. In terms of entertainment, he's one of the most talented folk this country has ever produced. As others have said, the near enough unanimous admiration for him amongst the general public tells it's own story. The amount of comedians here and in the states who cite him as being the reason they got into it speaks volumes too. He done a recent interview with Sky News where he spoke about politics a fair bit, and it does seem like he isn't really against independence now, but i don't think him being on a certain side of an issue which pretty much split the country down the middle should ever have detracted from how good he is. I'm not sure a chap in his 70's being against independence should've been that much of a shock at the time anyway. Still think the dinner party routine about differences in social class is up there with his best ever stuff.
  6. Some of the pictures are absolutely brutal, horrible stuff. Can only hope that the number of Ambulances at the scene are there just incase, as opposed to being called for.
  7. One of Moat's ex girlfriends moved to my area a few years ago, don't think it was the one he shot, but she was in the press a lot at the time. One of my pals was sent to her flat to do some repair work and said she was weirdly happy to talk about the whole thing, she brought it up and i'm sure even asked him if he recognised her. The Derrick Bird case was probably the more shocking story, especially considering where it happened, but the way the Moat saga played out with a big manhunt and then finishing live on TV is why its so well known. Nationwide manhunt, the RAF and counter terrorism units brought in when it turned out he'd just been wandering about Rothbury.
  8. BBC journalist on twitter saying three dead inside the stairwell of the hotel.
  9. Agree with what others have said, Collins is right in most of what he says, but his David Brent like manner will always make him a figure of ridicule instead of folk taking him seriously. In Scotland we tend to be a bit wary of folk who are clearly having themselves and he's quite a good example. He always felt he truly belonged at the top level and i can't imagine he ever experienced imposter syndrome, you can see it at the 98 World Cup before the Brazil game where half of the team look like competition winners terrified for their lives while he winks at the camera. He's a bit of a tit but you can't really argue with most of what he's saying. Listening to the Open Goal interviews in the last few years, the same culture seems to still exist where folk who do extra work/commit themselves fully are seen as being busy c***s, and folk who aren't mad for a night out are seen as being a bit dull. Although at the same time i think folk like Collins, Delia, Le Guen etc thinking they can change an entire culture overnight are also a bit daft, always going to alienate players that way.
  10. Not sure if it's been mentioned here before, but i'm a big fan of Matt Morgan's 'Funny how' podcast. Morgan wrote most of Russell Brand's material through his heyday and was on the old radio shows with him, but has predominantly made his living as a sitcom writer. I find him on his own to be one of the funniest folk about, but the podcast is him talking nonsense with comedians and actors mainly, However the best ones by far are recorded phone calls between him and Noel Gallagher (who he's close pals with). Have never heard Gallagher as candid, or with his guard down as much. They're all very funny and are generally just both of them telling stories and talking about lockdown, comedy, music etc but they occasionally go a bit deeper. One of the stand out bits was NG talking about his experience with panic attacks and paranoia brought on by drug use in the 90s. He's always been a good interview, but he seems like quite an introspective, thoughtful guy when he's not playing up to the arrogant grumpy manc thing, he tells a few stories about his life pre fame and gives the impression there's another side to him folk don't see.
  11. A group of Wrexham fans (who consider themselves to be left leaning) apparently ambushed the 'football lads' too. The 'links to Celtic'. and 'Links to the IRA' comments are a good laugh. They're also completely puzzled that not all football fans support them, as if being into football somehow means you should automatically have right wing, knuckle-dragging views.
  12. What's is it they're actually playing at here? have they just decided that the streets belong to them now? bizarre.
  13. Fair play to them, defiantly chanting 'Engerland Englerland Engerland' at the police from, well, England is some patter.
  14. I do wonder how many of these thickos were pretending to care about social distancing etc when moaning about the BLM protests last week. Also something incredibly funny about them viewing absolutely everything through a football away day type lense.
  15. Bit sweet innit, too rich.
  16. One of the most appropriate references i've ever seen.
  17. What's the brewery in Swindon? might be a courage actually. Focus yeah, so, you get more out of it in the long run.
  18. I bought the official script books a couple years ago for a few quid on Amazon, and the first few pages are the emails between the BBC producers and Brent setting up and arranging the filming of the documentary series. It's basically David trying to ensure he gets full editorial control, routinely forgetting that the documentary is about an office and not him. They're incredible, on par with some of the funniest bits of in the series.
  19. He went home to get it.
  20. I think the view that they have to get a certain demographic of folk onside if they want any change is quite telling imo, and one of the main reasons they are protesting. I think the whole point is that they are fed up of trying to get folk onside who clearly don't want to listen, so they are taking matters into their own hands. Also, why should the BLM movement seek the support of middle Englanders who have neither experienced racism in their lives and who have little to no understanding of it. Personally i've learnt more about Scotland's role in the slave trade in the past week or two than i ever learnt in higher history or whatever. I've walked past statues for years without ever really noticing who they were, and i'd imagine a fair few others will be the same.
  21. The full version is glorious. He makes a frothy mouthed incoherent rant about, amongst other things - Little Mix, believe it or not. He's also calling on anyone who calls themselves a lad and a 'football lad' to get down and protect the statues next week, stirring stuff.
  22. If this is what the whole thing is doing to our brave Tommy then i suggest they keep doing it. Very angry wee man.
  23. ''Trump's a pure head the ball' Usually held by folk who would've looked down on those who spoke in a regional accent/slang at school.
  24. Aye right enough. It's the same with the Lee Rigby thing. Terrorism is quite clearly already illegal, and his killers were given life in prison, so when you ask these folk what exactly it is they would be protesting it quickly becomes apparent what they actually mean.
