There were people who were at the game who aren't getting the points because their ticket didn't register when scanned never mind people with cancelled flights. A few on here have mentioned it in the new SFA ticket system thread. The SSC said in the emails prior to the Netherlands game they'd be doing this as the Dutch FA were sharing the details of tickets scanned and not scanned. They don't apply the same rule to home games and I doubt they have the appetite to either since they probably just want the money, especially for games which don't sell out like Northern Ireland.

It seems likely a needless hassle to get this data from the host association and then go got the trouble of applying it for those who didn’t scan in. It won’t be consistent across all away games either as I imagine most won’t be able to provide this.

Sorry to be a pain but can’t seem to get my head round this. I’ll be based in Essen for matches two and three. Will my match ticket get me train travel to Cologne for match two? I’m assuming I’ll have to book a train for match three in Stuttgart.

Essen - Cologne, you can travel for free if you hold a match ticket within the VRR and VRS zones on the map. Valid 6am matchday to 6pm following day on regional trains only.

Essen - Stuttgart, you should buy a ticket in advance, you won’t be covered with your match ticket.

Maybe I’m imagining it and it’s confirmation bias now but feel like both he and Jensen shy away from heading the ball. Our whole defence do at times. Feel like I’m often saying don’t let that bounce.

Is it ridiculous to suggest that younger players may be influenced by increasing knowledge of head injuries and resultant diseases? Has defending subconsciously or even consciously changed as a result?

Often sit and watch us and think big Gashton would have dealt with that all day long. Still miss the big galoot.

That knowledge clearly hasn’t made it to Serbian football academies 😅

The best-attended Scottish Cup tie also happens to hold the European record for a domestic crowd.

147,365 supporters watched Celtic versus Aberdeen on April 24 1937.

    Ah, the good old days.

    No,  I don't remember it.

    'Mon the Dons.

    Was it a 50:50 split?

Athletics and swimming are the two core events that must be included.

Could Scotstoun get some more temporary stands? Probably not enough for a 20,000 or more capacity and entry/exit might be an issue?

Don’t think there’s space at Scotstoun at either end of the track.

Realistically, the athletics would be held outside of Scotland like it was for the 2018 European Championships.

I would imagine there is now the threat that home qualifiers for USA 2026 will be played away from Hamden - just seen the news that Glasgow is a potential host for the Commonwealth games in 2026.  I recall that Hampden was out of commission for about a year or so to install the raised track.  Rep of Ireland game was at Parkhead and Georgia at Ibrox - just checked and see that they were after the Commonwealth games - whilst the stadium was reverting to football and track removed.

They’re saying that if Glasgow hosted it then it would be a scaled back games with fewer sports and only as a last resort.

I think they’d just use existing facilities and host the athletics elsewhere or possibly not have it at all (unlikely).

Stuttgart one says you can view the pitch from the men's toilets. Do they mean via a tv or is this some kind of mad German stadium feature?

The last part is a good point. The South Irish women benefitted hugely from embracing a smaller stadium in Tallaght, building crowds there to the point where they began to sell out tickets and made womens games an event worth going to. Results improving on the pitch helped but so did the social experience that made more people want to go. Now they've played some games at the Aviva with impressive crowds because of their momentum and folk wanting to be part of the experience.

I don't think our womens players would ever accept going to a smaller ground again and in most regardsbI probably agree with them, but it may be a short term help to build crowds and a better matchday experience. If that comes and results improve, then they could return to Hampden. Being among a 6% full Hampden cannot be enjoyable at all.

We had this to some extent with St Mirren Park. The way SWNT were going though, they had outgrown all grounds in the country under 20k. They had a few games at the Edinburgh stadiums and then went to Hampden as a move to ensure parity with the men (and a cost saving exercise since the SFA had acquired it so no rental fee).

I think there was an opportunity to grow into good five figure crowds and they did get this initially but failing to qualify for two tournaments and a dismal nations league campaign has seemingly removed any feel good factor and reduced interest. Moving to another ground may be a good option but it would be viewed as a backwards step at this stage.

Re the crowd, I might be completely wrong, but I don't get any sense the SFA do anything to promote these games other than punting out emails to people who have already paid for mens tickets.

There is absolutely no excitement for these games and even when there is eg v Ireland or England it only seems to be amongst people already with a bit of a stake in the national team.

I dont know about Ireland but it seems clear the England national team and club teams in England are getting support from people who would never usually go to men's football whereas the SFA seem happy to try and dip from the same well hence crowds QP would shrug their shoulders at.

I'd be really interested if there is a growth plan for support for the women's game.

Also highly predictable to hear the manager going on about 70% possession which might seem impressive to anyone not watching the game. Man's a fraud.

I don’t think that’s completely fair. There’s usually regular social posts for tickets on sale, I’ve seen led advertising around Glasgow for the games plenty too. I know the sfa regional staff near me help local clubs run buses to get to the games too. A huge proportion of the crowd will be young girls who play the game.

I'd say the trajectory of the team is the biggest factor. It’s also not a great experience at a mostly empty hampden either, which is a bit of a catch 22.

    Ah, I see. That’s a bit unfortunate.

They apparently refuse to do reprints for Hampden tickets so AFC (and possibly other clubs) don’t offer standard delivery in case it gets lost.

Ridiculous situation. They could easily utilise the Hampden ticket app that they use for Scotland games too.

Yep was an ideal opportunity to try out something different. Shankland isn't going to be good enough long term so could of given Mcburnie another go.

However, Clarke isn't the manager to bring in anyone different or new at this point though

Before the last Euros he brought in Adams in the March window and Gilmour, Patterson and Turnbull right before the tournament.

Said on twitter about how good the falkirk pitch looks. The livi pitch always looks like it’s soaking wet on tv.

reminds me of the old pitches at goals. Pouring the black small balls out your boots at the end of the game

I’ve heard the new Falkirk pitch has green pellets instead of black which definitely makes it look more natural.

Probably Performance Director would be the more likely role for someone like Cathro, but maybe they could expand the role to also coach the 19s (or 21s and punt Gemmil down to the 19s...or just punt Gemmil....).

The only one that is currently already in the system that seems to be doing good things is McLaughlin so he'd be worth considering, although maybe there's value in keeping him where he is as well.

An other person I thought of was Rhys McCabe - is his role at Airdrie part time? He's still to climb the job ladder so would maybe see it as a good thing to add to his CV. Been really impressed with his commitment to decent football at Airdrie and seems to already use and improve young players.

The Championship has fixtures during international breaks. I could be wrong but I think Airdrie are full time or at least hybrid.

Did we ever put on sale B1-B8? I can see that they are greyed out, but assuming they have not been sold and are possibly being held back? Still loads of availability in the South Stand for us. It wouldn't surprise me if we struggle to hit 10k.

Nope. We’ve essentially had 1/4 of the stadium on sale to us and we have around 1.5k left so will be around 10k atm. Over 1000 of these are in the South Stand at £41 each plus £7(!) postage charge per order. We may sell out the rest of our current allocation in the West but not the South at those prices. Celtic will be getting a good chunk of the North-West corner of the ground pretty soon I’d imagine.

Putting the money to the side for a moment, what would seem more likely is he would be interested if he wants to build his own CV as a manager rather than a coach. He had one gig so far (Hearts) which was less than successful. If he wants to build credibility as a manager in his own right this might be a good way to go about it. Take the U19 job for a couple of years and show he has the skills, move onto a smaller club with those transferable skills and build from there. At the moment I'm not sure he is particularly employable as a manager, if that's the role he would like.

If that was his plan then he probably be better off going into a similar role at a premier league academy. Higher pay, working with the players every week instead of a few days here and there, probably regarded more highly by other clubs for future roles.
