Good news, I would hope that Walls and Newton follow soon!!!

Given Healy has signed a contract extension to secure any funds if any bidder was to tempt him for full time football but it's good you mention the other two prospects we have promoted in recent seasons to the first team would you keep the other two for next season as well despite the problems we've had in defence and at left back for years? I think it is important to keep the/any youth prospects then what's the point in this pathway I know dick and his team that has came to the club will have different views and there players they will want in the upcoming window and have also against using Ramsay and Murray than be squad players within squad since.

It is also interesting giving we handed out contract extension before dick came in as manager to Hambrook (who's went to linlithgow but not done much out there unless he's injured now) and docherty who had one of his poorer games v Bonnyrigg (then again we have struggled v Bonnyrigg all season) there to replace Murdoch weather dick still wants them here next season still who knows. Who else do we want to see stay? I say Rollo (as back up), Easton, McManus, Murdoch, Millar and Shepherd as well as those two the rest haven't done much and I doubt we're making the hibs loanee permanent and Lyon still a good player on his game, thistle will be hoping he's part of their bench but the rest haven't done much or contributed much through out the season or haven't adapted to step up like Nicol, comerford etc...

I get people now is anxious about can we afford things under dick or even the board to be on same hymn sheet as the manager and his coaching team but surely if we want be successful as a club you need to back this and also get onboard sponsors given we have a commercial team it will be there job to attract and I have no doubt they will than given the budget to the previous manager no disrespect greig will be a legend in my time following east fife from the 2000s onwards but...plus be a big bonus for the board in summer get the pricing right for all to get more fans back to the club and through the turnstiles but we have been £18 for two seasons surely we need everyone have same vision and get more people back despite in recent seasons we've lost board members in the past, relegation to league 2, covid pandemic that happen and the living costs going up surely third time lucky and see if £18 is right or it's time to rethink who knows but thought I see what everyone else is thinking here.

I know it's also early days we could still make the play offs if we win all two or three matches and could go up (play offs) and manager waiting see yet what division we are in next season but whatever league we are in we will have a better transport for visiting fans giving the return of the long awaiting rail link to the town/swimming pool area so next season east fife will be a place to visit I'm sure among fans using the railway to the ground even for ourselves if we end up playing the rovers or dunfermline away I'm sure.

Going back to coaching staff we do need a goalkeeper coach in pronto aswell to join the gang, unless Fleming next step is that man? Who knows but all teams have goalie coach and it's good we have dick, John, Ian and Stuart but we need a goalie coach given the goalies we got is what missing as well. I'm sure all areas will be discussed and viewed by everyone.

Not over reacting on this result, I agree that management will know by now who they are keeping but what worries me is the management team going to get the backing from the board to fund the new squad?

About time the club get decent players in yesterday result a prime example we are toothless without fash and what it's been like under previous manager and it papered over the cracks we wasn't good enough get promoted last year and we are 6 points off the play offs this year  good riddance there's 3 games left before the current squad is emptied at end of season. But we have a decent manager that's been in lower leagues unlike last summer were signing unknown quality that hasn't delivered over the season...Philip (who left), Nicol etc....

  3. Good riddance we are 5th place with 3 games left to play and 6 points behind Spartans off a play off place after that show today. The wind played apart (no excuse) and we were ripped apart by Bonnyrigg yet again and last season we made the play offs but we wasn't good enough to get promoted.

I feel next season under his team is what is required even the bench is what is has been all season no many options from the bench either we are stuck with Shepherd and shiv from the bench in attack but without fash that was evident today.

  4. Is it me how many guys have we retain for next season? I thought the boy Lyon looked good yesterday scored a goal then was subbed along with Healy any chance we can keep him next season if thistle don't want him or is it a case see what league we will be in and see what the summer brings?

    A new stand 🤣 delusional

You groundshare with Hamilton because you can not longer pay lanarkshire council for rent for broadwood while shettleston juniors and the park at st mungo's academy at crown point have turned you lot down....you can't laugh at our situation while your situation seems be running out like east Stirling 😂

Ooh.. what do we  from this?

I know we don’t NEED a bigger capacity at this point but, heart ruling head, a bit of covered terracing would certainly reignite a lot of interest- not to mention atmosphere.

A stadium development fund isn’t a bad idea.

Did we not have this when Lee Murray played his way into the club because his team was in the same division and wanted to get us a cafe etc?

Nothing pushing me on this news unless it's official or put anything in to help it probably end in tears or some pipedream 5months down the line, still unconvinced as long as the team on the park provides the success it's been like that since I remember us....

I do like the thought of having a proper shop inside the actual stadium building than the portocabin would be the 1st project how long have we had the outside portocabin since out of curiosity?

Safe standing at sea wall end? Clubs like Celtic have acted on this given Bayview is a seated stadium with one stand? Then you won't have stewards or the stadium safety officer complaining to younger fans to sit down when their all banging the drum away....Peterhead did a similar thing for their young fans.

The only thing I can think is he assumes it’s going over? Which is a wild assumption.

As a opposition fan at the game does the player height come into it, he wasn't the tallest of goalies either. Looked very shaky and nervous especially throwing a McManus shot out for a corner?

Though Brett is a great keeper I think your club has found it hard to replace a top goalie and that was the problem when he left us, left a big hole trying get the same ability in that position it seems.

  8. Great to see the arbroath reunion for Stuart he will sure be addition to help the coaching staff out when needed. Obviously rates Stuart highly in their short time he, pink, John brought him from Berwick to arbroath.

Now to get in goalie coach and under 20 coach in and we should be sorted I think.

  9. Given Mikey time was limited here and was always going be behind Fash & Shepherd in terms of pecking order in strikers at the club, going back to @Lichtie78comment about Kane Hester wouldn't be bad shout come to mention the suggestion and to consider he's been hit and miss at Montrose and was in fire for Elgin the season before his move to league 1, would be a player that would spring to mind to keep Shepherd and fash on their toes...loose the both of them and we need to play a midfielder up top but I'm sure dick, Ian and john are well aware of the situation given we've been limited for players that make a difference from the bench all season and unfortunately Mikey comes under that category unfortunately but wish him all the best wherever he goes onto and good luck to the boy.

Robert Scott of East Fife worked in an abattoir.

All day long he killed cows. Except for Saturdays.

We used to have Johnny smart emptying bins in lochee area under the Dave baikie era. But I guess now him, Dougie Cameron and Bobby have reunited at that local team there.

  11. Officials killed east fife Christ even fash got booked for a stenny defender jumping on him. Deary me and because of that a draw was fair.

Stenny goal was definitely a goal kick to east fife than a corner but that comes back to official been our their depth.

I think I gave up in second half at how many times a player went down it was a free kick that was like comical.

Though still think stenny will win this league this season it's all about staying up and getting a team in to be alot better in the standings.

I have a feeling Colin Hamilton may end up at East Fife - think it would be a good move for him at this stage and possibly ToB but I’m not overly sure what’ll happen there as he’s got a 5 year deal.

Would mind seeing Thomas O'Brien and Colin at us those two at arbroath I quite like to see in an east fife top. Would of liked Bobby but he's at lochee, We need a decent left back since naysmith/Penrice (onloan) left us so Colin would fit the bill and move young newton back into wide midfield again if newts was to be kept on but like I said everyone is on trial to get into the east fife squad next season and we will take it from there.

Though given we just signed hambrook extension which was or is odd I feel the rest are on trial to make it for next season squad but I can't see a way back for Slattery and given he has a testimonial at the end of the year he probably look to be the first one out the door though he has done quite well on EFtv I herd.

Plus the youngsters we brought up recently are best of the rest no offence so dunno if we should still have a youth system if we already have the top youngsters from there and there's only so much you can do until you send the wrong message out but that up to club if they keep it running and if dick feels that is the avenue that can be used as advantage but as well as that we need players with a pedigree from other teams too.

  13. Following the resignation of Greig McDonald and the subsequent appointment of Dick Campbell as first-team manager, we can confirm that Paul Thomson and Lindsay Hamilton have now left the club.

Paul and Lindsay both leave with the thanks of everyone at East Fife and we wish them all the best for the future.

Can we now have Rab Douglas as gk coach followed by Stuart Malcolm defender coach😂??

  14. Well he have three or four months to asses a squad for next season and build a team on the park as we've seen they are below par. With nothing to play for this is a perfect opportunity but the bottom line is staying up do that then we can build a team but he and the staff will have no fear between now and end of season and think it's fair we haven't been good this season far off what we achieved last season.

I believe appointing DC will most likely stem the decline and he will stabilise the league position. However I fear that his appointment would  see the end of the youth system and we will no longer see the likes of Murray, Walls, Newton, Healy, Ramsay and others now on the brink with the U 20’s breaking through into the EF first team squad as DC will likely bring players in who will do a “short term” job for him and then leave. Just look at his track record at his previous clubs on blooding young and upcoming players.

So, short term ( to the end of the season) probably a safe and good appointment but long term , I have my doubts.

Just my opinion and views like.

I get the youth position was great but fielding youths we haven't much seen the rewards unlike jude Smith hence he was with Celtic when he came to us with unknown quality and we played him in L1 and got noticed hence the rewards that Newcastle took him for their academy at a much higher level again down south.

I feel that we already have the best from that group and we have regressed bar walls and flashes of charlie Murray when our defence is at their bare bones there but none of them show their good enough. Mean it was good thing setting up the youths but we need go in different direction and now isn't the time to bring up anymore.

Always seen Greig as one of football's good guys, and glad to see he has walked away rather than face the bullet, especially from a club that he holds dear. However, and I posted this on here a couple of times last season, he never really seemed to learn from the mistakes that he made from his time at us. Despite a stint on the staff Annan between leaving Stirling and joining East Fife where some people thought he would have "learned the tools of the trade" before stepping back into the hot seat, but he obviously didn't.

If you can entice the Campbell's, along with Young and Douglas to Methil, then that really would be something for you to get excited about.

This is what I thought when we appointed Greg when Crawford left that his stint at Stirling A back then has came back to hunt Greg at his time as a East Fife manager and I read your messages and viewed your concerns, which has been the story this season. Though I wish Greg all the best and he is still a legend at East Fife regardless I wish him all the best what holds for him.

Regarding having the Campbell's installed bringing in his backroom staff ie Young, Malcolm and Rab Douglas would be the icing to freshing the backroom as well as get excited where all levels at the football club within East fife have been stale at all accounts and we need freshness, we had backroom staff that's been here since pat slattery era if that and it something to get excited your quite right from someone on the outside I have been crying out for at this club.
