  1. After such a positive league Cup campaign, I am now left feeling a bit deflated which going by the last few games and past 3 seasons looks like another serious case of dejavu. This evenings game should have been wrapped up at half time if Cox had put his clean through on goal chance in the net. For the second half it looked like we would see the game out until an absolute howler from our keeper which for him would have been a confidence killer and then unfortunately we lost another two goals from a corner. The team and Bollan must arrest and nip this in the bud very quickly of giving away such cheap goals as it takes away the fantastic work rate and effort from the likes of Sheerin. We can't afford to give away such silly goals and must look to convert our chances otherwise we will be looking at the wrong end of the table this season again. Vital 3 points this Saturday and Gary and the team will know that. Nothing less and will give the team a confidence boost and something to build on but there are definitely some areas to improve on. Still though if this team can settle and not giveaway silly goals then they are capable of doing a good job over the course of the season. I would be asking Ben reilly back to give us that bit of pace With all that being said the league campaign is our priority and I'm sure Bollan can with the team learn some valuable lessons from tonights game and our dissapointing start to the league whilst working hard to get the team to winning ways for the season ahead.
  2. We must be both on the same page Ron as these are the points I raised recently around the High School, colleges etc so hopefully we can tap into these areas giving some talented local youngster from the local community to showcase their skills. I'm in the process of restructuring the 100 club committee to try and achieve driving new ideas with more people taking ownership of them by getting a group of volunteers to help carry out additional fundraising initiatives on top of what is already raised from the 100 club. 4 names so far one taking on a treasury role which will free me up greatly as the cash side can take up a bit of time overall I. E collecting money paying it in and will allow me to hopefully carry out other tasks as the chair. Very positive and diverse individuals who all have the club at heart which should be of benefit going to forward. Key going forward this season is maximum publicity to enhance engagement for the club, continued positive relations between fans and the board with a good level of dialogue. Interactions between players and fans whether that be selected local players nipping into functions where fans are drinking post match, A full list of volunteering duties available advertised to the community, really engage and build key relationships with a wide range of stakeholders who can help shape and influence taking Cowdenbeath forward and finally a renewed vision of what the club/ Donald wishes to achieve in the short to medium term by rejuvenating a real sense of purpose of what we are trying to achieve as a club/community.
  3. Ron You have very valid points in regards to the importance of digital communications for maximum fan engagement. Following a gathering recently at the club some of the points you mention regarding interviews are being explored. The key is to attract a willing volunteer to undertake such activity one who is comfortable carrying out an interview using equipment and one who can has strong interviewing techniques too. I personally would have no issue in carrying out any interviews etc for fans as long as somebody can take the load in terms of uploading editing footage etc
  4. You obviously have concerns. In what way do you feel you have been treated like crap by the club? What could have been done better to not make you feel the way you do? Have you up taken any opportunitys that the club have given in terms of direct constructive dialogue? Fans like yourself are of great importance given your 30 year loyalty to the club. Debate hasn't really been discussed before around our strips but probably has this season due to drifters artistic talents. I personally like the top and you are never going to satisfy everyones tastes. I appreciate your frustrations on the extremely poor past few seasons as the board will be just as much dissatisfied however that's the past and no point in hanging onto the past it's about the future now albeit learn from what has went wrong
  5. No wind up. I will PM you. Anyone demonstrating a bit of passion for our club whilst presenting some interesting and creative ideas to support the football club is exactly the type of person I am looking for in a new committee I am setting up. Although you are based down south that for me does not mean you cannot be involved given today's technology whether that just be a conference call etc with the rest of the group, emails etc.
  6. I like your creativity Drifter. Fancy being a 100 club supporters committee member would be good to have the likes of yourself onboard with your skills.
  7. Wheres best to park? Morrisons or is there a time restriction?
  8. Fair enough point in being pre SPFL. However as someone already pointed out the HL organised their fixtures so they should have taken into account of this potentially happening I do not not think the SPFL needs to rearrange anything but the HL should reorganise their cup structure in my opinion
  9. The SPFL didn't entertain rearranging Rangers fixture congestion in the lead up to Rangers Uefa Cup final to be changed with 4 games in a week which would have been excellent for scottish football if Rangers had won so I hope they take that into consideration when reviewing this matter. Every club should be treated the same when making decisions of a similar nature so taking the Rangers example into account the request from Cove with all due respect to them personally I feel should be rejected. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/scot_prem/7379902.stm
  10. Good kind messages from other clubs regarding our current misfortunes. If we are in the playoffs which looks a certainty the more people we can get to the games to ensure Cowdenbeath F.CS survival would be greatly appreciated for those that wish us well. As somebody pointed out any club in the promotion hot-spot this season should do all they can to get up as it could be a your clubs turn next and it's a horrific experience as a fan of your club experiencing it even more so for two sessions running. Cowdenbeath are helping prop up those above us again this season and hopefully someone will be propping us in the SPFL next season
  11. If your club was in survival mode and at the bottom of League 2 with a fanbase of 250 to 300 coming to your games each home game whilst no longer having the luxury of owning your ground I am sure you would have a different viewpoint. Believe it or not the prospect of 15k more each year can lessen the pressures for clubs like ours.
  12. I wasn't aware of such booklet. Then if you have that level of information I personally would want dialogue with my own club to hear their stance on it whilst weighing up the risks and benefits for the good of whatever club you support
  13. A lot of this information is hearsay on here. What clubs need to do is present to them the information they have then share their view as a football club on what decision they feel is best then ask for fans input and views. There is no point in coming with an already half empty glass approach without fully understanding the proposals etc. Just my opinion. Don't get me wrong I personally think from a footballing point of view Colt teams being in our league doesn't excite me and think they should just compete in the development leagues and the challenge Cup etc but I support allowing to test something different in Scottish Football whilst hopefully helping the likes of Cowdenbeath financially in the the process
  14. Playing devil's advocate if there is talk of diehard fans turning their back on their respective clubs what good is that to their respective club? Everyone including fans, directors etc need to have full dialogue with one another to assess together the pros and cons of accepting or rejecting the proposal. Also whether you like the old firm or not should not come into the decision making process it should purely be based on the factual information which is presented and for everyone to take a step back and look at the bigger picture whilst ensuring what is best for your club. Just my own personal thoughts and every fan, director etc of any club is fully entitled to their own opinion and stance.
  15. Totally understandable of any club in League 2 supporting the proposed pilot. Finances are seriously limited in League 2 due to low attendances, final league position payouts being relitevley smaller than the tiers above and more difficult to attract investment. If it is crystal clear that there is to be increased financial benefits to league 2 clubs then for financial reasons basically potentially 30k better of during the two year period it makes business sense to accept the proposal purely based on looking after your own respective club in the first instance. Whether it does prove to develop players or not I guess will be established at the end of the proposed pilot. My only concern is that I do not agree the colt teams would not have to enter a pyramid playoff but the team above them would. This clearly is against any integrity of the league structure and unfair to other clubs in that league. Personally think they should scrap a tier in Scottish Football altogether and introduce a 12 14 18 league structure. With 2 coming up from the either the Highland League or Lowland League automatically or the Highland League vs Lowland league playoff to see which two come up.
  16. Playing devil's advocate the proposed £15000 per year for teams goes a long way for clubs coffers due to guaranteeing they would purchase a minimum of 250 away tickets and tempting to accept. Whilst I am in favour of the financial improvements the colt teams would generate I am certainly opposed to the fact that if either one of them finished bottom then it would be the next team in line that would go into the Pyramid playoffs or promotion at the other end of the table. I think this would be extremely unfair to the respective clubs in that league and against sporting integrity.
  17. Sorry to hear about your clubs relegation not a great feeling We were just relegated from the championship 2 years ago and now face a relegation out of the SPFL Hope our friends from Raith help cheer us on next Saturday #Club135
  18. Congratulations to DC and Arbroath! I said openly in our last few games last season we should appoint DC as he knows these leagues inside out! He sure does as he has just bagged you a title!
  19. Well done City securing your SPFL status in your first year
  20. Not sure as I have said I am against the idea but if the proposals are backed up with the financial benefits and how it improves the Scottish game etc then I am all for it
  21. Personally from me I am not for Colts teams as I think in the senior leagues there should just be one club representation of a club. However if it means introducing them into the leagues is going to benefit Scottish Football and lower league clubs such as Cowdenbeath having an increase year on year in their coffers then I am all for it. I do however think that their should be a restriction on how far they can potentially go up the leagues and would probably cap it at just League One and no further.
  22. I think you will find teams 4th to bottom in this league are also currently scared they could go down
