  1. I Will look into the physio and hydrotherapy then. I’ve tried a chiropractor in the past and most recently kinetic chain release therapy. KCR gives you almost instant relief but it’s clearly not a long term fix as I’ve been three times in a year. If only a spinal transplant was a thing…
  2. I made all the above points whilst discussing this yesterday. He has ended his career with this whole debacle. There was a fair bit of resistance to him signing with us from a lot of our support at the time and it was front page news in the paper for a day but other than that it wasn’t a story for very long, unlike his transfer to Raith. He had it easy at us all things considered and flew under the radar to an extent for the majority of his time at Clyde, albeit he took abuse from the stands from oppositions fans. It’s short sightedness on his part to think he could do the same moving to Raith and has raised this ugly story again for him, the victim and their respective families. IMO we would be stupid to take him back. I’ve said previously, use the transfer fee and now available wage budget to bring in 2, 3 or 4 good players and bolster the squad. A lot of our support stopped going to games when we signed him and I hope they all come back now. If we sign him again they’ll be lost forever and I’ve no doubt others would follow. As much as he has done for Clyde on the park it would be to our detriment in the long term if we took him back.
  3. He really needs to lay off the booze these past couple of days.
  4. Sorry to hear that. Mines seems to get like this once or twice a year out of the blue. I’ve chucked playing football as well as that would aggravate it but only mildly in comparison to putting on a trainer… old age doesn’t come itself!
  5. I didn’t play football for a good 6 or 7 months after that injury. Luckily, I’ve had no recurring issues with it since. I was only about 22 or 23 when it happened so having age on my side might be a contributing factor to that.
  6. I’ve been on diazepam, naproxen and co-codamol since Monday and the pain is almost completely gone. Id describe it as mildly uncomfortable now. Although on Monday I couldn’t sit or stand and had to lie down basically until Tuesday morning but even then walking down the stairs to lie on the couch was a mission in itself.
  7. What did your treatment and recovery entail? I hurt my back on Monday bending down to put a trainer on and my back went. I think it might be a slipped/ herniated disc.
  8. Ligament damage is horrendously sore. Whilst playing for Bully Wee United I went in for a 50/50 with the keeper (think the team was Livi Supporters). He got there a split second before me and my foot got caught under his body and my momentum carried my full body weight forward and hyperextended my knee. Fucking agony is the only way to describe it. Genuinely couldn't bend my leg for about 2 months.
  9. Knowing those stats and after supporting Clyde for 32 years it’s almost a guarantee you’ll win 3-0 now.
  10. Thought I’d start this as it would be nice to actually talk about the fitbaw again. Big game for both sides on Saturday. If we win I’d say we are safe from finishing 10th and that would almost certainly seal EFs relegation unless they have a miraculous upturn in form. If EF win then they could very well drag themselves back into the mix. Also our first game without DGW at the club. Time for others to step up on the park. Looking forward to it. I’ll go for a scrappy 1-0 Clyde win in a game with little to no quality to speak of.
  11. I would agree with this. He’s made his bed, he can lie in it. All things considered he had it good at Clyde and wanted away. Now it’s gone tits up at Raith we would look very stupid if we took him back.
  12. The club would be absolutely mental to take him back. Cut ties and move on and find replacements with the transfer fee and wage budget we now have.
  13. If you're into dystopian or survivalist stuff I can highly recommend the Metro trilogy. Namely Metro 2033, 2034 & 2035. 2035 was the last book I read a few months ago. Written by Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky, the books are about life after a radiation disaster (a common one I know) and some of the last remaining humans who have built up a community in the Moscow metro system and in particular one guy in his early 20s named Artyom who lives in an outlying station who has to alert the other communities about threats from the deepest parts of the metro network and above ground. They made the books into computer games which were decent, too. I believe there's a film and/or tv series coming out in 2023 also. As it's originally written in Russian some of the translating doesn't quite work out but you can work out what they mean easily enough.
  14. The worst pain I've experienced is a particularly funny one (I can look back and laugh now). In 2019 I was in Hairmyres ICU for 6 weeks suffering from Miller FIsher Syndrome. Amongst other things I had a catheter fitted and a tracheostomy as I was on a ventilator. About 3 or 4 weeks in when a lot of the paralysis had subsided one of the nurses came in to check my blood pressure etc. As she turned and went to walk away I saw her heading for the catheter tube dangling off the bed, one end connected to the bag, the other to you know where... and you guessed it. She tripped over the f*cker!!! What made it worse is that I seen it coming and couldn't say or do anything to stop it happening! As I had the tracheostomy fitted I still couldn't speak, so I let out a silent scream (much to the hilarity of my family who were there at the time!) I can look back and laugh now but the pain was unreal. I cant even describe it. A bizarre feeling.
  15. I’d agree with the above. We’ve had enough bad press over it (albeit nowhere near the scale Raith Rovers are currently having). We should move on and look for alternative replacements.
  16. This is without a doubt my favourite thread on here.
  17. Elsdon would be a good choice imo. An old fashioned centre back who comes across as a good leader and vocal on the park.
  18. Well he’s not a Clyde player any longer as Raith have paid for his footballing services so you can continue voicing your opinion on the matter on their thread.
  19. Aye, I think you’re right actually. Need to get the finger out in the summer window.
  20. We should be looking further afield than Scotland to bring in replacements with the DGW transfer fee and wages freed up. We should be looking in England and even Wales and even NI for a short term loan to get us by until the summer.
  21. You trying to say Rob Jones won’t step up and score 10 between now and the end of the season?
  22. What does that make Raith Rovers when they paid money for his services?
