  1. Very, very, VERY disappointed in Danny Lennon. When it comes to Rangers survival, if you can't say something against them, don't say anything at all!!!
  2. Not heard his voice for years, but could hear it word perfect in my head as I read that. I feel ill. Obviously on a completely different scale, but the oppressed masses of countries where the media is run by dictators must feel the same - what appears in the press has absolutely no correlation with reality.
  3. Absolutely. As I understand it if directors have any inkling at all that they are not being given sufficient information to carry out their duties, and then do nothing about it, that in itself is a fiduciary breach. It has been long established that "I didn't have a clue what was going on" is not an excuse for not carrying out your duties as a director, and that applies to non-execs as well as execs.
  4. Obviously what should happen is that McCoist and Jardine apologise for their behaviour and they suffer some appropriate punishment. If that doesn't happen then the Scottish press should be all over it. Sadly we know that what will happen is that they will say nothing in the way of an apology, will continue to portray themselves, the club and their fans as the victim of bogeyman Mr Whyte… and the cabal of ex-players and football hacks will back it up every single inch of the way. Last night when I got into the car after sevens I switched on Real Radio. I hadn't listened to any football forum for about 10 years but managed to survive about 20 min of Clyde's joke show a couple of nights ago, so I thought I would have a listen to this to see if it was any better. In the 5 min I managed to survive before switching off all three 'experts' rolled out the line that "everybody knows that Scottish football cannot live without Rangers and that they should have a small punishment and we should then just get on with it as if nothing had changed". In that 5 min there were even discussions about player budgets for next season. Now I know these guys are thick as mince, but surely even they must know that there is a vast percentage of the customers of Scottish football who do not buy into this in any way shape or form - and yet they seem to be ignoring it completely. I genuinely do not know how they can sleep at night knowing that just about every word they utter is a lie.
  5. Hmmm. Here's Dave Lee Roth as one of the Fabulous Picasso Brothers in 1986. Could he be one of the mystery bidders?
  6. All this uncertainty is doing no one any good. Could you set a deadline for the rigiditisation of your fluidity.
  7. That Miller bloke is being more unreasonable by the minute. Clearly the fantastic Rangers support had nothing to do with his decision not to get involved. Your comment though about it being thrown out from the start shows two things: the police thought that was their intention, and the CPS thought they could prove it. The CPS being told they couldn't prove murderous intent doesn't mean it wasn't there. Are you seriously saying that if this case was brought to Miller's attention (after the barrage of abuse from others of the group he was trying to help) that it wouldn't have made him think twice ... because the intent wasn't to actually kill?
  8. Ah, okay, you're right enough. The fact the attempted murders failed due to incompetence will have eased any concerns Miller had about taking on RFC .
  9. Maybe someone mentioned to him that two Rangers fans had just been jailed for sending bombs to people they thought didn't like their club?
  10. According to Derek Johnstone it was one banner, and it was only a dozen 'purported' fans who protested. I'm sure in due course they'll be outed as Seamus O'Brian, John Paul Brannigan, Monsignour Patrick Kelly, Michael Quinn ...
  11. Not listened to the Clyde phone in in 15 years because it became 'The OF-Show'. Listening tonight though... fan-tastic!!!! The guy talking about 40,000 bears giving £300 season ticket money to Super Sally - amazing in so many different ways... not least because he didn't seem abashed in the slightest that the money they were giving was money that had ALREADY been used to pay of their debt to the bank via Ticketus. It's attitudes like this that is making me increasingly think even severe punishment isn't enough... please just disappear forever.
  12. Well, they are having elections in Syria - although I guess that is a more transparent and democratic regime than the SPL.
  13. Yup. They've always valued each square foot of the site of Ibrox as if it was a greenfield site in the middle of Kensigton and Chelsea... with full residential planning permission.
  14. Well obviously! It would be grossly unfair to Alistair McCoist and the legions of loyal and long-suffering Rangers fans if they weren't given sufficient time to deal well enough in the transfer market to ensure they are competitive in the SPL next season.
  15. I really think that clubs should extend the early bird dates for season ticket renewal. How can they expect you to commit to a set of fixtures when you do not know who is going to be in the league, and more importantly, whether the league itself is a corrupt sham. Oh, wait a minute, this delay may be - at least in part - designed for precisely that purpose. The thought of not watching St Mirren next season is a little unreal, but at the same time, if this turns out the way that a lot of us fear it might, how can we possibly support it?
  16. Taking these things through court is a very expensive exercise. Where would they get the money to fritter away on a pointless action? Oh, err, hang on a minute....
  17. Sadly I do actually still gamble - but not that much, as my real weakness was for fruit machines. Over the years I still get astonished from time to time when I notice a puggy in a pub and just laugh at the thought that I used to be 'FANatical' about them. I really am staring to feel similar feelings rising around this matter. It's one thing moaning about the favouritism the OF get in just about every aspect of the game, but it's quite another having it made quite so clear that the whole system is warped to make sure they continue to thrive at everyone else's benefit.
  18. From the time I was a lad I was totally enthralled by fruit machines. I was completely addicted. Just about every spare penny I had I'd want to stick in to those machines in the hope of winning a jackpot. Ashamedly, one day whilst a student, I lost about £180 in a single day on the union puggy. That was a third of what I had to live on for 3 months. In 1988 new 'electronic' puggies started appearing everywhere - and the infamous high/low 'gambles' became omnipresent. Even although I always suspected the old machines weren't completely random as soon as I knew for sure that the machines were fixed... my addiction disappeared. I don't even play fruit machines in Vegas despite the fact they're everywhere, and there is zero temptation to put my money anywhere near them again. So I wouldn't underestimate people's reaction to the realisation that something they've invested a lifetime of love and cash in is actually a corrupt sham.
  19. Nice one. Hope he extended it further with the "Nobody else would have you. You're lucky to have me. Oh, and I may leave you for the next slightly more attractive tart that'll take me." The latter being an empty threat of course as serial abusers aren't normally welcomed with open arms by those not already under their spell.
  20. Will they not need to ensure that Rangers 2012 and Queens Park don't have home fixtures on the same day?
  21. So how come, with all the financial cheating Rangers have been doing over the last 10-15 years that Celtic have pretty much matched them? Should both clubs not have approximately the same revenues - or are Celtic so much more massive a club that Rangers had to cheat to the tune of £10m a year to stay with them?
  22. I've worried all along that the whole thing is a big charade with Patsy Whyte (knowingly) taking the heat to rid the club of it's toxicity so the real new owners could come in with a cleaner slate.
