  1. About 5 just now, just pottering around the first city doing side quests atm.
  2. The gamepass is offering the premium edition/early access for 30 odd quid, I jumped at it.
  3. New album Slowdive “Everything is Alive” released today, happily on my birthday. Listening through it just now, will give it a rundown after I have digested it.
  4. Unsure if there is a topic about it already. This game is fantastic; obviously there are some typical Bethesda bugs, for me the audio falls behind or cuts out from time to time but makes no odds; I have to run it on Low settings on my PC even with my 3060 12gb but my CPU is bottlenecking me a bit. Otherwise it really is just great. A combination of Fallout 4, No Mans Sky, a touch of Elite Dangerous; and I really can’t sing it’s praises enough. The only thing I have a slight gripe with are the loading screens/transitions to areas/interiors.
  5. Moonlight Katana is the shit. Didn’t unequip it multiple playthroughs. Shame they nerfed Katana’s in general in multiplayer.
  6. Goldwater rule being crossed by many folk here. I am sorry if I seem a bit histrionic in regards to how I describe her, but you just can't throw around diagnoses' here. That is hopefully what will be revealed either in the inquiry or by the psychiatric team that WILL look at her. The whole nature of what she has done has truly shaken me, and once again apologies if I came across as combative or disregarding of suggestions of possible disorders or illnesses she may possess. She is a case that will be studied for years to come in my opinion, possibly creating a whole new type of diagnosis. We all agree what she has done is truly monsterous, and it's normal to speculate, but I assert my opinion she cannot be fixed into a myriad of disorders, this is truly, psychologically astounding and disturbing at the same time. Like I said I don't want to believe in the notion of "evil", but this entire case has caused me to re-evaluate my understanding of the field of psychiatry. My colleagues are as confused as I am. it's simply not a case of psychopathy or sociopathy or narcissitic tendencies, even Borderline wouldn't explain this, nor the rather weak diagnosis of MPD. She has never displayed any outward signs of any mental pathology that would suggest she is even capable of such horrendous acts. I again apologise for appearing dramatic, @Boo Khaki especially knows his stuff and I want him to know I value his insight cause he clearly knows what he is talking about, but I just have to disagree what what he is asserting.
  7. Yes, but was she doing it before 2016? Christ she was only just sentenced today, 7 years after the fact. That is a management failing of course, but the fact she managed to keep going is just astonishing. The consultants only wanted her out of the ward intially, it wasn't until later that they didn't want her back because it appeared the escalation of deaths had stopped since she was moved.
  8. After how many years? It was only caught when records were properly looked at. Even then, some of the consultants couldn't actually believe it was her.
  9. Well, we are all speculating, I am not even attemtping to diagnose her because I don't think she is diagnosable at this time. People saying MPD, Narc Personality Disorder, Munchausen by Proxy, are the ones trying to fit her into a pigeon-hole; it's just not possible. I do think once the inquiry is finalised and made public she will be assessed as someone who has a mental illness, but until then, who knows,
  10. That is only after the fact, obviously. What you describe doesn't actually fit with any sort of diagnosable disorder either, not neatly anyway.
  11. I mean, that describes a whole host of folk I personally know and work with; as far as I know they definitely wouldn't do what Letby has done. I accept what is in the public sphere just now is probably equivalent to hearsay, but as it stands that's all we can go on. I cannot accept no-one would not notice a narc type personality, nor any sort of severe mental disturbance which would present itself by harming babies, especially in that environment.
  12. All we have are media reports, I have mentioned previously that the police will have tonnes of evidence that will get analysed and when she does go under psychiatric investigation, she might well have various illnesses/disorders, but as it stands from everything available to the public, she is an outlier.
  13. Well we can agree to disagree regarding the links between episodes of psychosis and psycopathy; she definitely isn't schizoaffective anyway. I hope she is diagnosed with something, otherwise there's just something really wrong about all of this.
  14. That is the whole point, that is why I am confused by this whole thing. If she is diagnosable, it will be an absolute cocktail of various things, which could lead to a whole new type of diagnosis. She does not fit neatly into any disorder whatsoever.
  15. But she was never seen as someone with low self-esteem, that only appears from the notes she wrote. She was seen as "one of the girls", went on holiday with colleagues, did all the normal things a young nurse would do, and was seen as competent, unlike the examples you gave.
  16. Exactly. All cases similar to this show there is disorder behaviour amongst those in the same sort of category as Letby, but as you said, there is nothing there in the public sphere to suggest she was anything but normal. I don't know why folk aren't understanding that.
  17. It is not a prerequisite, no, but it is a very common symptom of Psychopathy. Do you think she is psychopathic or sociopathic?
  18. What are you on about? Letby, by all accounts was seen as "normal", narcissism has never been mentioned by anyone that has known her, nor the defence of her never brought up any mitagating factors such as any sort of mental disturbance. You talk pish about many things you don't have qualifications for, I don't think you understand the ramifications of someone like Letby in the whole psychiatric sphere. She is an anomoly.
  19. Psychopathy is very hard to hide; she had not recorded instances of psychosis. All of your examples had clear signs/instances of psychopathy. Beverely Allitt was always seen as a relatively incompentent nurse, something which Lucy was not seen as. She was seen as competent, normal, and well liked. People have suspicions of Allitt much sooner than Lucy since her behaviour was much more erratic.
  20. MPD is definitely not in the equation here; I don't even think there is a disorder here is at play. I genuinely think she's just fucking evil. I've been going through all the statements about her upbringing and social life; it just doesn't fit with any sort of diagnosis I could think of. This is what troubles me most. I can't believe any sort of psychopatic or sociapathic behaviours could be hidden so well when she appeared popular amongst other nurses, consultants, management and even parents. It's perplexed me to the highest degree.
  21. In terms of child killers, she is the worst. The actual nature of her crimes…if there is a sort of subjective scale, I’d say she’s the worst modern UK has ever seen.
  22. Exactly what I meant when she targeted the most defenceless demographic of our species. It’s truly blood curdling, and the ramifications for there not to be any clear and concrete proof she is either psychotic, sociopathic, schizophrenic; or hell, maybe this is a super wombo combo of all of the above in some sort of groundbreaking new diagnosis, cause it that’s not the case then it can only be pure evil in human form.
  23. No, because to be diagnosed as psychotic, you have to have multiple instances of psychotic episodes, or states of psychosis. As far as what we know in the news, there was never any inclination she suffered from any such episodes. In terms of sociopathy; that disorder develops over time, usually due to abuse, poor upbringing; essentially psychopathy is something you are born with. Sociopaths are made; she had a good upbringing (as far as we know), graduated from University, was popular, not only with other nurses but senior consultants; even one of the 7 consultants who eventually raised the flag about the correlations of her presence and the deaths said “No, not nice Lucy” or something to that effect. I legitimately believe her clinical colleagues just would never believe she would do something like this, but it was only when the deaths were getting more and more frequent, and the common denominator was her being present, something had to be raised to upper management, and that’s where the real failures of human beings are right now, in that hospital. Like I said in the first post, it really just seems like a case, the first time I think in my life that I could confidently say that person is truly evil, and that is gut-wrenching. Referencing my first post again, those “self-loathing” post-it notes (whether they can be dated, I don’t know) appear to me as plainly false, premeditated almost just in-case she was ever going to get caught. Even if they can date them, it doesn’t really give an insight as to why she wrote them in the first place, because if it was during the start of her spree, during, or nearing the end, it still does not explain why she did it. You can point to some ramblings about how “I’ll never have a family”, “I can’t live like this anymore”, and maybe suspect she was displaying remorse/insight as to why she did these things, but from what I can make out of the transcript of the notes, it really is just “woe is me” in a nuthsell. The only truthful thing she wrote on one of the post-its is “I am evil, I did it”; but she even contradicts herself before saying she hasn’t done anything wrong. Ramblings of a person with top level, severe mental issues who could seemingly hide in plain sight, operating “competently” at work, going to Salsa lessons according to her diary (which, most despicable of all, had the names of the babies she killed on the days it happened) despite all of this seemingly crushing guilt scrawled on bits of paper, or a person who wrote the sort of things down she has seen somewhere that sounds (and reads like something, drawings and squiggles and all) like something a genuinely mentally ill person would do, just as a “just in case I get caught”. We won’t know until the inquiry is over, and it could turn out she was actually a diagnosed psychopath, or was a sociopath and had been terribly treated in her life that led to her lashing out to the most defenceless of our own species in the most calculated ways possible. There is so much evidence that the police are sitting on that can’t be made public because of the sheer scale of the investigation. Something like 15,000 pages of transcribed statements alone, discarding whatever medical records of the babies that died, all the people who had to be interviewed, cross-checking shift patterns over a span of years (they say they are going to actually go back to when she first started employment to see if she started way before concerns were raised). That hospital would have been getting turned upside down for months by the police collecting information they needed, and finding out who they needed to talk to. All of this done by someone who was described as “just one of the girls” is fucking bone-chilling.
