Since you were promoted, you’ve drawn twice and lost four times to a single goal, hardly a horror show.

You’re only Queen’s Park, you hardly have the divine right to expect to beat a team like Morton.

    Wit 🤣

    Calm down precious

Not once did I suggest we had a divine right to beat yourselves, you’re literally just finding anything to get riled up over. I mean horror show as in imploding with daft mistakes throughout the games. Ferrie x 2 mistakes, Marcel Oakley selling the jerseys giving a penalty away last season at cappielow, blowing a 2-0 lead at home, failing to create absolutely anything for 55 mins against 10 men a couple months back. If anything, I respect the way Imrie has Morton playing. He’s clearly doing a fantastic job

Very weird behaviour getting annoyed over that. Whatever suits your narrative I suppose

  2. We could field a team of galaticos and I’d still not be confident of beating Morton regardless of form

The next couple games will be an indication as to whether we’re looking up or down for the rest of the season. Priority is really just totally avoiding ninth and building from there. Early days but Davidson’s recruitment has been really positive. Welsh, Scott and Carse look excellent additions and with the added bonus of Danny Wilson to return and maybe the possible addition of Chris Kane, it’s a really competitive squad now.

I wouldn’t be devastated with a point to keep momentum going but I hope we give a better account of ourselves against Morton compared to every other  previous encounter. We always produce a horror show in this fixture

You're apparently competing against Dunfermline for Chris Kane on loan.

Id think he'd join you as the best (top flight) spell of his career came under Davidson.

Hard to know where hes at as hes effectively not played for the past 2 years thanks to injuries and struggling for fitness after that, but before the injuries he was comfortably a top flight centre forward.

I’d imagine if he joins Dunfermline, he’ll have more chance of starting as there’s no chance Paton will be dislodged. I’ll absolutely not say no to an experienced striker but I’ll be curious to see what type of role he’d play if he does indeed choose us. Suspect we’d be the favourites given the Davidson connection

I'm already wondering if we can make a pre-contract offer to McKenzie Carse before he shows too much leg to the rest of the leagues. A bit soon to judge, but a good pedigree and would seem to fit the mould (if we can afford him).

However I was complaining at how wasteful Dom Thomas and McKinstry were in possession. I know nothing.

In fairness, I’m still really unconvinced by Mckinstry as of right now. I’m glad he got an assist yesterday and hopefully he kicks on from that but his overall performance was poor. I think Davidson is hoping by giving him consistent starts, we’ll eventually see the Mckinstry that we were told about when signed

I was begging for Davidson to sub Mckinstry and Turner only for them to link up brilliantly for the opener 🤣

There are still some of our fans who think Dom Thomas was some big bad arsehole who wreaked choas in the dressing room and almost single handidly eroded the team spirit, when in reality he was frustrated with two of the worst managers the club have ever had. He might not have gone about things the right way, but he never stopped performing for the club. Even when he didn't play so well I always thought he gave his, yet you have melts in out support who claim he couldn't be arsed and only had a good game every one in four or some pish.

Aye, completely agree with all of that. There seems to be this narrative with Thomas amongst certain fans throughout the league that he’s a luxury player with a stinking attitude when things go south and it couldn’t be further from the truth. Like you say, what I love about Thomas is even when things aren’t going for him during matches, he never hides and gives 100% every game. Not once have I ever questioned his attitude or desire even when we’ve an absolute shambles for large parts of this season.

He’s a disliked character across many fanbases but guess a large contribution to that is cause he’s very good at football.

  6. I know Dunfermline weren’t exactly going to be brimming with confidence going in to this but my goodness they were dreadful. Can’t think of a worse performance of an opposition side against us all season. Truly abysmal. The only tactic consisted of launching throw ins into the box and hoping something would fall. It looked like the players had given up for McPake in all honesty

Dom Thomas in full flight is an absolute joy of a footballer. 1st half I felt like he might of been trying too hard which led to him losing possession on a couple of occasions but the 2nd half was tremendous. Complete control and deserved the result. What a difference an actual football manager makes. Within 5 games, we now look a decent championship team again compared to the basket case under Veldman

Motm for me again was Jack Thomson. He’s a premiership ready player now who I have no doubts will not be at the club next season. His control on the ball, physicality and driving runs from centre back were a delight and he’s been fantastic all season.

Xavier Benjamin might also be one of worst players I’ve seen in a fair while. Hoaching performance

How was Hepburn for you guys?  Heard he seems to be doing okay with the Austrian team he is currently with.  Scored a goal that’s got them to semi final of a national cup there

Can tell he’s quite talented but lacked a lot qualities that can’t really be quantified (heart, resilience, fight). Far too lightweight and his impact on games fell off a cliff very quickly. Not suited or good enough for championship football at this stage of his career

  8. Can’t stress enough how important getting a result today was. Genuinely never felt so happy to see a QP side grind and play ugly football if it means getting a positive result. Far too often, even going back last season we always had a soft touch about us but under Davidson we seem to be learning about the ‘dark arts’ a lot more. You can tell from Davidson’s interviews how much he loves players getting stuck in and flying into tackles. Joshua Scott was a prime example of that as a sub, immediately flying in to win the ball. You have to be able to do that if you’re to compete in the championship

The game wasn’t pretty at all but when you have a player like Dom Thomas, you’ve always got a chance of creating something from nothing. The guy has been dealt a hard card this season getting plucked everywhere on the pitch, expected to win games of football on his own but when you actually play him out wide in a settled structure, you immediately see how much better he is. His individual 2nd half performance was tremendous and deserved the goal

Bannon arguably had his best game of the season at the back and even though I’ve criticised him lots this season, Tizzard really grew into the game 2nd half and dealt with anything that fell in the box. Really pleased for him, should do his confidence the world of good

Can’t say I was too impressed with Inverness at all. They had a lot of possession around the box but I can’t recall many if any real clear cut chances (bizzarely Ferguson suggests otherwise)Interesting recruitment strategy signing a host of young guys from down south and seeing a lot experience leave the door. There’s a noticeable difference from the PL 2 division compared to the Scottish championship and I’d be concerned that these guys might take a while to adapt to the pace of things.

  9. We’re slowly looking like an actual championship level team nowadays compared to the shambles under Veldman. We look a lot more resolute and being able to grind wins away at Raith and Inverness are prime examples of having a legitimate manager in Davidson at the club. The difference in one month has been fantastic

By no means safe but I feel having a far more structured set up alongside a couple match winners in Thomas and Paton will prove to be the difference in finishing 8th instead of 9th

Callum Ferrie? He's a fucking bombscare of a goalkeeper.

He’s really not. It’s just harder for you to believe as he probably had his worst ever game last season at Cappielow, which was indeed a horrendous performance.

Despite our position in the league, he’s been tremendous for us this year. We’d be below Arbroath by a considerable margin without him

  11. That’s McKenna confirmed to Bournemouth. Really smart move to go there instead of Man United I’d say. Think there’s a realistic pathway of breaking into the team over the coming years

You could tell from the off he was a special talent. The performances away at Arbroath and even Raith (despite losing) were tremendous. Had the personality and build of a 28 year old seasoned pro.

I really don’t think It will be a longtime before hearing his name in the limelight again

  12. Wilson is an excellent piece of business (on paper at least). If he’s anywhere near the player he was at rangers/Hearts, he’s easily up there as one of best in the division. A huge upgrade on what we currently have. If I’m greedy, I’d probably want another centre back on top of that to allow Thomson in midfield again, especially when Fox is injured and Tizzard is…..Tizzard

  13. Davidson must be fuming this is what’s he’s been able to sign this month.

He’s confidently stated on almost every interview how much the squad needed experience and it simply hasn’t happened other than Welsh. We must of been turned down by so many players

I’ll not write Crole off until seeing him on the pitch, you’ve simply got to give him a chance to prove himself. We’ve had our fair share of garbage on loan, especially in attack so unfortunately the expectation is set at a very low bar for now. He just needs to be impactful from the bench for the last 15-20 mins. Whether that’s providing some sort of pace or presence up top

Critical that a defender(experienced!) is signed tomorrow or else we’ll be in league 1
