Problem is that it is 5 at the back

It’s 5 at the back that becomes a 3 whenever we get the ball, problem is whenever we lose it (often) Williamson is miles ahead of anyone else and it leaves a back 3 (including brad McKay), who’ve never played together before, exposed and all over the shop. It’s Sunday league rubbish.

I actually think attendances have held up remarkably well considering we are in the middle of our 4th disastrous season on the park. Will be interesting to see what the crowd is vs Queens Park.

In the original BTB scheme we hit 950 sign-ups in Feb 2019 after 2-3 months. We had just climbed out of the relegation places after being bottom at Christmas so there was a fairly optimistic feeling around the club generally.

The current FSS has been going for around 2 months so to already be at 330 is pretty good given our current situation. Coming out the other side of the pandemic coupled with better performances on the park will see those numbers shoot up

We include season ticket buyers who don’t turn up in attendance figures so hard to get a true measure. This Saturday v Queens Park is a good direct like for like game - see if we can hit the 4k

  3. Think the thing that will have a far, far greater impact than any advertising campaign etc would be a swell of wins.

A feeling of building to something tangible on the park that we haven’t had in 2,3,4 years. A little run into the playoffs eg would imo see membership increase hugely.

I don’t agree with that btw - fans money is probably more important in this scheme when times are bad rather than good - but imo it’s how a lot of our supporters think

I had plenty to say about the rumours of Goodwillie signing, so I want to make final comment before I can finally (thankfully) move on from it.

I am aware the majority of posters on here were against signing him, but we all know that wasn't the case across all social media. We're all aware of the folk on the COYB page; I'm aware some were at the bam up, but some absolutely, and depressingly, weren't. I'm doubtful, but I really hope that the backlash that Raith are getting holds up a mirror to those in our fanbase who were up for signing him, or even worse, making jokes and turning into some kind of 'own the wokes' stuff. The position we are in and the number of f**k ups that we have made already made over the last number of years, I genuinely believe that signing the rapist could have been a final nail in our coffin. This is especially true given it would have been the new board, recently heralded in as 'giving the fans a voice', who would have given the go-ahead to the decision and have split said fanbase. Given that we do not have someone of Val McDermid's fame, I fear we wouldn't have been able to garner the same movement against the signing as Raith have and after further humiliation from other fans and anger flailing in all directions, we may simply have slipped back into our state of apathy as the club slowly slipped away even further.

Of course, this is all hypothetical. I have absolutely no idea if we were in for him or not - maybe we weren't, I suspect we will never know - but given how desperate we currently are, it wouldn't surprise me. IF this was the case, I hope those at the club are thanking their fucking lucky stars that they have truly got away with one and the new board can actually begin a rebuild that gets all the fans behind the club and pulling in one direction.

Couldn't agree more. Given some of the heartbreaking comments on COYB facebook I don't believe we would've had the swell of movement the Raith fans have produced. The club would've been lost to any loyal supporter with a moral compass, and would've been left in the hands of the scum who'd sanctioned the deal and the scum still supporting the club.

Radio saying that sturgeon says the Spfl or sfa should get involved. That sounds bloody ridiculous to me. He's been playing at Clyde for 5 years so they can't pick and choose what teams he can play for.

It's a chance for her to show how much she *cares*, so of course she's demanding this lunacy. Unbelievably dangerous precedent she's trying to set there.

I have been putting off writing here.

I am so ashamed. I have cancelled by players fund contribution and emailed the club. My group were also supposed to be sponsoring the game on Saturday. We have withdrawn this too. I can't go back until the player and those who sanctioned it are gone. The summaries from Renton and others above are exactly what I feel about it.

At this level, its not even about winning, at all. We would support the Old firm if that was what it was about. Instead it is about pride in your local town, community feelings and a sense of belonging. All of that is fucked.

    Very well put.

The board don’t sign players managers do and that is how it should stay.

    Doesn’t apply to unrepentant rapists.

The last board, and Gary fucking Holt knew that. If they judged it better than the new guys that is not good.

However, bullet dodged (for good given his length of Raith contract - ooft). Maybe a piece of luck or maybe we were never in for him.

If performances don't drastically improve we'd be mad to stick with Rennie. He still has it all to prove.

I'd say report card so far is B minus, maybe C plus

    Fair assessment.

Think next week is the real make or break for any hope of this season. The home performances under Sheerin were unbelievably bad, almost every game. We were far better away than at home under him. Rennie must address that from next week - the time for talk is over
