I’ve supported Brechin since the early 1980s and that was probably the best moment I have ever had as a Brechin fan. It was incredible. And going back to the Glebe and the players bringing the trophy back just topped it off. What a day.

I don’t think Brechin could be anything else but interested. I don’t like the idea any more than the majority on here, but we want to get back into the SPFL and if this is forced through and that is your only route to League Two then I’m not sure there would be much choice. The lack of detail coming from the authorities here is a disgrace. Can they do this? What is the mechanism for setting it up? Do the current tier 5 leagues need to agree on the pyramid playoff? These questions and more need answered.

That isn’t true at all. If we only draw against Fraserburgh and win the other two games. We go to Buckie within three points of them. Win there and we win the title. We haven’t bottled it as others keep saying, we are a few games away from winning the league.

Well there’s a lot more going on in Lochee High Street than there is in Brechin these days, sadly.

Is anyone else a bit concerned about the goalkeeping situation? Presumably we signed Lenny Wilson to be the first choice and with the first league game next week he has been on the bench the last two games. Is the trialist goalkeeper who has played in the friendlies really up to the standard that we need if we want to be challenging for the league?

Not that I’m aware of. Anyway as it currently stands I don’t think the rules would allow us to switch from the Highland League. If we were to get promoted back to the SPFL and get relegated again I guess it might be different.

If I was paying a player to spot fix in a football match I wouldn’t be picking him to do it!

I’m really hopeful Brechin will mount a big challenge next season. We’ve kept most of the current squad and already added to that with a couple of decent signings. We obviously got a good look at Darvel and they were a good side but not scarily good. They might chuck a few quid at it if they win the playoffs but will it be as much as Kelty or Cove? I don’t know. What I do know is our club is in a miles better position this summer than it was 12 months ago.

I’m enjoying it more than I thought I would. Crowds have been good, we’ve been winning games and have generally done pretty well barring a couple of setbacks. A lot of that is just down to just being able to be back at games I suppose. The last few seasons have been pretty miserable as well . It makes a change to watch them winning. Good things are happening off the park and there is a general positive feel about the club which there hasn’t been for a while.

It wasn’t a call handler though and that’s where the problem was. It was a police officer who was in on overtime. A call handler is a specific role done by someone with a lot of training. Police Scotland’s big problem is they think that if you put a police hat on someone they can do anything. The person taking the call didn’t know what they were doing.

Buckie were pretty good and probably deserved to win but there wasn't much in it. I would fancy us to turn the result round when we play them in the league.
