Everytime we tease a signing announcement I can’t help but remember the time East Fife did the same and then announced it was a new tractor! Absolute gold! What a bunch of diddies! edited to add... up there with not being able to field a keeper and loaning our best player out to relegate us.

Will be playing in the juniors in a couple of years. Tried hard but doesn’t have any pace or enough ability to cut it. Even in the seaside league.

    Absolutely seething! I love it.

Spence was told long before the season ended that he wouldn’t be offered a new deal. You only need to look at the team lines from the last couple of months of the season to see he was out of the managers plans. Raith will be the bottom rung for full time though. In the past, under Mcglynn, we had a mostly full time squad with a few part time players thrown in who were earning a good wage in civi street and didn’t want to give it up for the uncertainty of a 1 or 2 year deal. Lets face it, if a player is on 30k+ in his own job, and can get a couple of hundred quid a week part time on top of that, it’ll be far more than most championship teams will be offering. Rory Mcallister and Mark Whatley are two that spring to mind. I’d also suggest that with fitness and going to the gym being very much in fashion for young guys these days, there won’t be much difference between the levels of full and part time players fitness levels either.

Ahh the old Gregory Tade rumour gets dusted off for another summer...

Good use of multi quote Lister. You’re probably the kind of human being who can tell me exactly what trains passed through Kirkcaldy train station on specific dates and buys commemorative stamps.

With immediate effect, if we ever sign a player who doesn’t have a Duke of Edinburgh award and/or sang in the church choir as a youth then I won’t be back.

A lot of folk on this forum have obviously never pumped a drunken bird after a night out before! Probably says more about them than it does about Goodwillie.

Roughly the same as what Jack got for the family prize cow when he took it to the market.
  10. Raith Rovers v East Fife

Not really... Ayr have been, by far, the better team this season. Their goal difference and league position proves it. We are where we deserve to be, 2nd place.

We train on the stuff every day. I’m pretty sure Lewis’s cruciate will be used to it.

Is that Jon Daly behind Locke? If it is, he’s had one hell of a festive period!

Groundskeeper Willy, you’re Scottish, do you know much about Scottish Football? No. Ah, it’s just we are looking for a manager. We were thinking about Gary Locke. He’s managed in the Premier League before and that’s where we want to be playing. Sounds like a good idea with good logic. What could go wrong?
  14. Airdrieonians off season thread 2017

Are you seriously expecting the Airdrie fans to be familiar with terms and conditions of his contract?

I only pointed out he struggled on Saturday when up against a decent forward line. Having another defender in so we aren’t overly reliant on him to the point he’s under pressure isn’t a call for him to be dropped. For what it’s worth, I think he’s done well so far... but you’ve got to remember we are playing at a level that’s made Davo look good.
