  1. This sort of game is a perfect example of just how pathetic the alleged redevelopment of Lesser Hampden has been. Friday night, on TV, we haven't won in 15 games, and there will still be at least 500 more people at the game than could have attended if it were there.
  2. He's apparently been trying to encourage the team and assist the interim manager, with no chance of him getting the job. From what I've heard there should actually be a relatively promising appointment potentially this coming week, with signings to the follow. We'll see about that.
  3. I guarantee you'll change your mind about how winnable this game is very, very early on. Our lineup is mental for what should be a game we're going out to win.
  4. I still think that was one of our worst performances yet tbh, probably top 5 anyway which in a run of 15 winless games is bad.
  5. I haven't watched them against anyone else, but both times they've come back to beat us late on it has been self inflicted - mental subs, stupid fouls (including an injury time penalty), and ridiculous naivety from a team that has absolutely no idea how to see out a result. We should probably have taken at least 4 points from them. I can't imagine it's been the same for all of their comebacks though; the key is quite clearly that they made a lot of quality signings in the summer and their squad has the depth (and right attitude) to dig in even late into games. Most of us are making substitutions that ultimately weaken the quality on the pitch, but the same can't be said for Raith.
  6. It's very obviously been a disaster so far due to our squad being built on sheer arrogance, but the fact that we haven't won a game since mid-August and would only really need to string 2/3 wins together for things to start looking up is hilarious. Still think we'll finish 10th though. I have zero faith in the club to appoint the right manager or bring in the players we need to make a go of it in the second half of the season.
  7. We'll go 1-0 up, look semi competent for a while, concede a daft goal (likely from a corner) then forget how to play football completely and lose 2 or 3-1.
  8. Paton and Turner are both a yellow away from a one game suspension. Spong has surprisingly only been booked three times in the league. Hopefully by the time Paton does get suspended we'll have another striker in, but I certainly wouldn't hold my breath...
  9. No, but I feel fairly confident in saying that a better manager would've taken more than 1 point from these 4 games. Nuijten already sounds utterly defeated in his interviews so there's no chance he's inspiring the players and filling them with confidence either. On top of that he has no experience with recruitment, something we cannot afford to get wrong this month.
  10. I can't agree with this whatsoever. While the result against United was fine in isolation, we also had moments under Veldman where we all thought we'd turned a corner and that turned out not to be the case. Morton away was just about as depressing an attempt at breaking down a team with 10 men as you'll ever see, and the second half against Airdrie may very well have been the worst 45 minutes of football we've played all season. We need a brand new head coach as soon as possible with totally fresh ideas, who can ideally teach the defence how to stop conceding quite so many horrendous goals and bring in his own players to shore up a squad which is simply not cut out for this level of football. While Nuijten does deserve credit for trying something different at Firhill, I'm genuinely very surprised that you think he's the right man to take this team which finds itself in a very perilous situation forward and hopefully avoid relegation.
  11. Our lineup today is quite frankly terrifying against a side that has found it so easy to score against us recently. This will be a massacre.
  12. It's a very different situation to when he came in last time though. That team was massively underachieving and hadn't had a real manager all season until Coyle arrived, whereas this squad simply isn't cut out for the Championship. January is massive in that we need to bring in at least 3/4 better players who can slot straight into the starting lineup. He was responsible for the signings of both Stephen Eze and Jason Naismith last season, so I can't say I have a great deal of confidence in his ability to get the recruitment right. This isn't to say I didn't thoroughly enjoy his time at the club, or that I think it was the right decision to show him the door so we could become a full time youth team, I'm just not convinced he's the answer to our problems right now.
  13. I want you to put the word out there that we back up
  14. Lamar proving to absolutely everybody why he was worth that contract. They're so solid defensively and offensively, got to be favourites for the Superbowl at this rate.
  15. He's under contract for the 24/25 season too so I'd like to think if clubs are interested we'll hold out for a decent fee and a sell on clause.
  16. I can only assume you know very little about the composition of our first team squad based on this statement.
  17. I don't think anyone has an issue with focusing on youth development as a legitimate method of building a sustainable club, the problem is the arrogance with which this first team squad has been built, assuming that a bunch of (talented, but not quite ready) 21-22 year olds would compete at in the Championship. Not entirely sure how Brooks Mileson is relevant though; let's be frank, given how much money Haughey has, if he truly did want to "Gretna" it we'd be a mid table Premiership club by now.
  18. Absolutely nailed it. I genuinely don't think there can be many more frustrating clubs in the world to support these days.
  19. Every time I think there's a slight chance we may have turned a corner things somehow get even worse. Never seen a more pathetic, spineless, performance in my entire life than that second half. Without major changes we are so fucked.
  20. Last week was a very different game to be fair. I almost think we were playing for 0-0 from kickoff just to prove to ourselves that we're capable of defending, and it worked; if we'd try to play the way Thistle approached things tonight you'd have won by more than 3-0.
  21. I notice Airdrie fans are being put in the opposite side of the south stand on Saturday as well, that's another thing they've got right.
  22. I don't think we'll get a better opportunity to win a game and hopefully kick on a bit any time soon. Airdrie aren't a particularly physical team (something we struggle massively against) from what I've seen so unlike some of our other recent opposition, if we can keep things tight at the back like we did against United then we'll hopefully limit their attempts at breaking us down. We obviously need to start scoring again too though, but again because of the similar ways both teams like to play football I'd like to think we'll look more threatening here than we have done the past few weeks. I still have massive concerns about this team all over the park and they're certainly capable of massive regression again. January will be vital in that we still need 3/4 good quality signings and an experienced manager, but I'm not dreading Saturday which is as good as it's going to get in our current position.
  23. Yep that's exactly it. Turner has also scored 5 for us.
  24. Think nationality of both squads and goalscorers, and that'll point you in the right direction!
