  1. My wife had serious bleeding from about 24 weeks with our first one, she was in and out of hospital then kept in from 31 weeks with our daughter eventually born at 34 weeks. They didn't know what it was to start with but it turned out to be a placental abrubtion which if I remember right was the placenta breaking away from Mum, scary stuff. We were told the same as you, expect the baby any time and every day the he/she is inside its a plus. It was torture but all turned out perfect and hope it does for you too.
  2. There's nothing more frightening the blood coming out of your kids mouth. My middle one got her tonsils and adenoids removed when she was three and recovered well, four days later she was eating her dinner and blood started trickling down her chin which then stopped. I phoned the GP who said it was likely a clot from surgery and not to worry. An hour later blood started running down her chin, a steady flow and a considerable amount so I phoned the consultant who performed the surgery and she told me to take her back into hospital to be checked out, again suggesting it was just a clot but we should check for infection. On the way to hospital it started again and it was worse again so I pulled over and called an ambulance. In the end it was all good, we got to hospital much quicker in the ambulance, I wasn't panicking while driving and after a night in for observations it was confirmed there was no infection and the blood was coming from the surgical scarring she was let out and has been fine since. Scary though.
  3. We hired animal man mini zoo for our middle ones fourth birthday last year, we had a hall for two hours and he brought out loads of reptiles and small animals, it was a great hour that all the kids loved, we then did games and shit for the other hour. Sure he does from 3rd birthdays up. http://www.minizoo.org.uk
  4. Congrats Shug, I've got about the same gap, although mine are girl, girl, boy. My eldest is 6 and a half and my youngest is two in a couple of weeks, middle one is nearly four and a half. It has been hard work having them so close but also great to see them playing well together, they are great friends and have all just moved out of their own bedrooms into the same bedroom, which is nice a quiet!! All that said, after two weeks off I am really looking forward to getting back to work tomorrow for a rest!
  5. Leaving Edinburgh is much better now, security is pretty slick even at peak times. Coming back from international is pish though, went from attached walkway to outside to back inside to find massive queues today and hardly any border fuckers on, and they've removed the self scan gates. The bags took ages even after the wait to get through security. Hopefully only temporary as it doesn't look finished.
  6. Think you've missed the point. Supermarket great guys. Head teacher bad gal. Last year they went carol signing to raise money to go the panto, this year they are doing it for new bins. Just kinda thought the council might provide bins that kept vermin out of the playground. And as hard to believe as it may be sharing a story like this on a football forum, I am not seriously upset by this development.
  7. My eldest (6) came home tonight practising carols, I asked if it was for her show but no, its for her school to sing in Tesco. To raise money. For new bins. Because the head teacher isn't sure if kids are dropping litter in the playground or its the seagulls she's sending them out to work to buy bins with lids for the playground. What a time to be alive.
  8. Never underestimate their skill from going vertical to horizontal with fourteen kicks and punches along the way each and every four minutes when brought into your bed. My youngest isn't 100% just now either and is waking about 5 each morning. Experienced me now goes and gets him, drops him in my position, pillows to the side then I head to his bed. Quality hour or so for me while the wife gets battered.
  9. It's easy to get carried away and buy loads of stuff for your first one, especially if you listen to everyone who's had a kid tell you what's a must have. My first had everything imaginable from our parents as it was both their first grandchild and most of it was never used or didn't help. First one had all kinds of gadgets to help her sleep or stimulate her when awake, I don't think any worked. Third one got dumped in a bouncy chair in front of the switched on dishwasher with my jumper over him to nap and given a remote control to play with when he woke if we were busy with the other two and he was happy as could be. Wee bit different as the health visitor is your Mum but some of the advice our HV suggested was frightening, we've still never seen her since our third was born and he's two in January.
  10. Love the creative analysis of the kids shows. My oldest loved Peppa Pig, I hated that snooty bitch (pig, not daughter). Middle one loved Octonauts (sp) which I quite liked too, some weird shit happening in that. Wee man loves Hey Duggee! just now which I'm all right with, there's something a bit sinister about the fucker (dog not boy) but the squirrels are sound. Honourable mentions for Charlie and Lola, Ben and Holly, Milly and Molly and the mental wee monster trucks, Blaze maybe. Tidy.
  11. There is 19 months between our first and second then 25 months between our second and third, the girls are 6 and 4 and the boy nearly 2 now. When our second was born the first's nose was very much out of place, she was still very baby like at 18 months and would have been happy if the new baby could have went back to where it came from. So keeping her feeling involved or doing things with her was exhausting. Practically too, we were still carrying a lot of shit about for number one when number two was born so it was tough. By the time the boy came the girls were best buds and they both shared an interest in him and involved him from a very young age, so it was much easier for us.
  12. One to two is the hardest. We went two to three without much hassle, if anything its a bit easier as the older two played while we dealt with the baby. My mate has five, and he says the same, one and two are very hard work, after that they kinda just toe the party line. Obviously when you go over three you need a bigger car and house etc so practically its more of an issue.
  13. We've taken the kids on a plane to France, Italy and Spain since the oldest was only 5 months, never had a big issue. The boy, who was 17 months when we went to Barcelona in June was a bit more difficult. Wanted up to walk all the time. Didn't help that he was on my knee and I was squashed in next to pretty big couple who weren't happy with his antics. The two girls (now 6 and 4) have always been fine, just packed loads for them to do in an easily accessible rucksack. One new thing for every 30 mins, colouring in, snacks, movie on a tablet, leap pad, dolls/soft toy etc. Booked up for flights in to Pisa next year and the boy gets his own seat which will hopefully make it easier. Don't think I would do a flight more than three hours with them though.
  14. Was there for a month whilst back packing in 2004, absolutely loved it, probably my favourite country I've ever visited. From memory I went Tokyo, Nikko, Sapporo, Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Matsue, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Nara, Tokyo! Travelled by train. Great people, great food, great partying around the university in Hiroshima. Would love to go back, I would never get tired of Tokyo. I think I was underwhelmed by Osaka but even that was probably in relation to everywhere else.
  15. Some great stories and helpful advice in here, been reading it for a while but haven't added my count. I've had all of my three kids since this thread started. 09/02/2009 15/09/2011 20/01/2014 Must be about time for another....
  16. Now you mention it that does ring a bell, I recall once getting a text about going over 50gb, which was due to downloading movies and a box set from SkyGo before going on holiday, can't remember for sure though. Looking back quickly at bills just now I rarely go over 20gb so maybe there is a cap but I don't get close to it. And as bing said, it has changed from " unlimited" to "all you can eat" for new contracts this year, no idea what the difference is though.
  17. I was on a standard pay monthly contract and it came to an end, I wanted a Nexus 4 but they didn't have it in stock so I asked to just cancel the monthly contract and I'd look elsewhere. The guy talked me into this deal on a monthly sim only deal so I could keep my number and switch to another monthly phone contract when the Nexus 4, or any other phone I liked, was available. I was paying £35 a month previously for unlimited everything with a Desire HD but he said I never used more than 200 mins a month so struck this deal for me. This was over the phone so not sure if it is an off the rack deal, I threatened to leave so they gave me a good deal I guess, in the hope that I would commit to another 24 month contract soon after. Best thing I ever did, just buy my phones when I fancy a change now. I've been on this deal for over three years, the price has never changed as far as I can remember, certainly less than a pound dearer in that time.
  18. I have an option to USB tether but I've never done so.I often use it as a mobile hotspot to connect my laptop and it works perfectly, even when using VPN for connection to my work.
  19. I'm £12.70 with 3 for Unlimited data, 300 minutes and 5000 texts. On a months notice sim only contract. The only time I ever pay more each month is if I send picture messages.
  20. Has to be GSTQ, it's only right and fair as it represents the majority of our residents. We should also pass a bylaw that only allows the flying of the Saltire in Dundee, Glasgow, West Dumbartonshire, North Lanarkshire and optional in Inverclyde. Everywhere else should fly the Union flag of our proud nation.
  21. If Clackmannanshire is 89% and Dundee 91% turnout as reported this is hugely encouraging. If average is 85% we need 5% more in each pro Yes region.
  22. 70/30 in postal votes No, I'd expect the national postal vote to be 60/40 so that's not surprising.
  23. Read that 65% was the magic number in Dundee, if reached Yes would win Nationally.
  24. Yes back down at 13/2 with Bet365 from 11/1 an hour ago.
  25. Was Kieran Andrews from Courier tweeting, saying 60/40 person and 55/45 postal. Someone else who's at Dundee count replied that it was 63, 65 and 75% Yes in the thee boxes he's seen.
