  1. I have a medal which is similar to that. Was won by my great great uncle Dickie Boyle. Played for Dumbarton, Everton and Dundee in 1890s/early 1900s. I’ve never been able to identify the medal and if anyone has any idea what it is I’d be grateful for any comments
  2. And Sons were in it again the following season when we beat Manchester City 4-0!
  3. But that’s the whole point of supporting a club like Dumbarton
  4. Doesn't look as if he's played this season or even been on the bench
  5. It's the hope that keeps us all going to games. Personally I just don't get the attitude of fans who say they won't go. You're going to support your team, surely they need it all the more when we could be outnumbered at a home game.
  6. Was that the one where the reports didn’t quite go to the end of the game?
  7. Not only that but there was always a decent write up in Mondays papers. As a young whippersnapper I kept a scrapbook of Dumbarton cuttings. We obviously weren’t one of the bigger teams but got good coverage in all the papers when we were in the old first division
  8. There are games on in the top two divisions because they know they will get crowds. We’ve had games in the lower divisions on 2nd January for forty odd years, ever since 1st January fell out of favour, and those games tend to get bigger crowds than the corresponding Saturday games.
  9. I doubt many will be working. Today is a public holiday, that’s why there are games in the top two divisions. Seems odd that leagues one and two had no games last week or this week
  10. Full card in the premier and championship tomorrow yet nothing in leagues one or two. Would it not have made sense to reschedule the Stranraer game for tomorrow?
  11. What has Agnew done that would make you want him as your manager?
  12. How can the budget be gone for a goalkeeper but available for a wide player or centre back? Is it divided into different areas of the park?
  13. How can you say something is poor without comparing it to anything? You must have a standard to judge against.
  14. No-one has to use the car park. If they feel that £10 justifies the convenience they will pay it. If they think it is too expensive they won't. Whether the pricing is justifiable will only be known after the game.
  15. And it will be the opposition’s first game for three weeks
  16. Aye all these youngsters concerned about having to sit next to a couple of Rangers fans. They should have been around when we played them at Boghead. 16,000 in the ground, the vast majority Rangers fans, and we still managed to change ends at half time.
  17. That’s a pretty stupid attitude to have. In any competition you want to do the best you can. We had no chance of winning the Championship when we were in it but I’d suggest you might have been bothered about results. The worst draw we could get would be away to either of Celtic or rangers. Unless you’re an accountant
  18. Ok. I’ll tell my son , who works in a theatre, to stop doing it because you say it definitely doesn’t happen
  19. You get searched going to a concert or the theatre these days. Its hardly unusual
  20. Presumably Lee Rigby only had one parent and 'In attendance' belongs to that sole parent?
  21. Love the story in the column next to the report about Montrose being included in the first round of the cup by mistake. Football authorities have always been a bit crap but that is an astonishing mistake.
  22. Think i would prefer Lynas in the centre over Malcolm. He didnt look comfortable there last week and he could be moved forward in place of Blair
