Viaplay finding an all time Dons legend for the pointless holding up a bit of cardboard routine.

They probably had the two of them booked for this before the competition had even started, expecting the Ugly Sisters to be playing each other in final. 🤦🏻‍♂️
TBH Scott Brown could be used for Hibs as well, so they did cover a few eventualities!  🤷🏻‍♂️

  2. Does anyone know if the amount allocated in each category was purely decided by UEFA or if the national associations had any input?

I would like to think that the SFA would have been asking for more tickets in the lower price range, especially given the cost of the opening game. However this is the SFA we are talking about!

I likely need to be home before the Hungary game so wasn't going for them, was just looking out of curiosity.

No worries, enjoy the game. I am now depending on the ballot or any resale one becoming available.

Trying to talk the Mrs to going over there for a holiday anyway.

Managed to get a Cat 2 for the Germany game, then went on to have a look at Hungary (which I can't go to anyway) and it seems to be sold out already.

Should have gone for the Hungary match first.

If it’s any consolation I didn’t get any either. I was on 11 points but my son just 10.

I logged on before 12 but by the time I got through the waiting room they were all gone.

Sorry to keep banging on about it and probably stating the obvious but I hope you're applying on the public lottery as well, especially if you're already planning a family holiday over there. Munich has a capacity of 66 thousand, only 20,000 are being allocated through the Scottish and German FAs.

Oh yes, I have done that as well. 🤞

  6. An 11 pointer, but working today whereas I had been off yesterday.

My son is only on 10 points due to the Norway tickets being allocated to myself (probably my fault) and the SFA helpline not being able to amend it after the match.

Resigned to not getting tickets now and certainly not prepared or able to justify paying 600 euros.

Just looking forward to making a family holiday in Germany in June and soaking up the atmosphere in the cities and fanzones instead.

And fond memories of the Casa Del Bimbo, if memory serves me right the rumour at the time was they had kicked all the orphans out of the orphanage to put us up for 2 weeks. 🤣

That was the rumours we heard as well.  The food there was also pretty grim, just pasta with a tomato sauce. We ended up getting pizzas in Rimini some of the time, though I think beer was our main consumption.

I still had a great time and wouldn’t swap the memories for anything, especially the game against Sweden. One of the best atmospheres I have been at for a game; before, during and after the match.

    UPDATE:

Tickets are available at Safeway customer services and Greaves Sports from 4pm Today. First come, first served.

I had heard that Fine Fare have all the Fans First tickets and are selling them as Yellow Label items! 😂

As an 11 pointer who was off tomorrow but will be working on Friday I have all but given up on getting any tickets now. I definitely won’t be paying for the Cat 1 tickets.

I am still planning to go to Germany, but it will be doubling as our family holiday now.

  9. I wonder who true English fans are wanting to win the opening match? 🤔

The only way I console myself when they are getting close to winning a tournament is thinking of the genuine fans from down south that I know and how much it means to them. I have met many who are just as passionate about their nation side as we are and also can’t stand the hype that the media whips up.

Having said that, I always have a wry smile and chuckle to myself when they inevitably fail, whilst also sarcastically telling my friends how unlucky they have been and how proud they should be of their lads! 😂

While the opening game will be a great occasion, I’m not sure having the pot 1 team in game 1 is ideal as we will more than likely lose and then be under real pressure in the 2nd match.

It’s a competitive and evenly matched group that we have a good chance at progressing from, but equally I could see us playing well in all 3 games and still being unlucky to go home on 2 points.

I would rather have an opening game against Germany than another match v England with all the media coverage that surrounds that game.

I think more pressure will be on the hosts to get a result and that the other teams in our group will also view the game against us as one they can win. I think that could well work in our favour.

Heard some of the build up to the Aberdeen game tonight

    - Who should Rangers sign Miovski or Shankland?

    - What do you think on Barry Robsons comments about Rangers

    - Rangers penalty at the weekend

    - Rangers, Rangers, Rangers

This has to be the biggest load of shite anyone could hope to listen to.

Decided to listen to the podcast as it said reaction to both games.

40 minutes discussing them, then a 5 minute interview with Barry Robson tagged on the end!

The same has happened to me with my kid, however I'm on 9 so it won't make a difference.

I'm going anyway, flights and hotel booked before we qualified, so I'll just grab what I can if any even if it’s an Albania match!

Not decided if I will go regardless of whether I get tickets or not yet.

The Mrs has been going on about having a foreign holiday so might be up for it, however she is from south of the border so Sod’s Law we draw them again.

My older son is definitely going with his pals, but he is on less points than me, so is just going for the atmosphere, etc!

They have been quick in responding to my email (under 2 hours) but say that as the game has taken place they can’t adjust the loyalty points.😢

I may give them a phone call tomorrow and try to plead my case.

I phoned them this morning and they aren’t budging, they say loyalty points can’t be changed after the game has taken place. 😢
I now have the dilemma do I try and get a ticket for myself when the 11 point phase opens or wait to see if any are left at 10 points (which I think is highly unlikely!) 🤔

  14. Tickets bought for The Modfather at the Alhambra in Dunfermline next April. It’s great being able to walk to a gig like this and not have to head to Edinburgh or Glasgow relying on the last train/bus home.

My only gripe is the booking fee/service charge/handling fees that get added on.  An extra £9 per ticket.

    1st December 1979. League Cup semi-final.

Mark McGhee nods past Roy Baines to put Aberdeen 1-0 up against Morton at Hampden, with most of the 12,000 fans present in the North terracing and the old North stand.

Also in the pic are Steve Archibald, Jim Holmes, Bobby Thomson, Joe McLaughlin and Neil Orr (and Andrew Waddell, the referee). Gordon Strachan made it 2-0 from the spot with Andy Ritchie scoring a penalty for us with 10 minutes to go.

I was in the South Stand Enclosure for that game, I think most of the Aberdeen fans were in the covered west terrace.

Morton might have been top of the league at the time and in the previous rounds Aberdeen had beaten Celtic and Rangers winning both home and away legs.

Dundee Utd played Hamilton in the other semi final and they had the common sense to play that game at East End Park so not sure why this had to be at Hampden

I was just checking my son and my account and noticed that he is only on 10 points while I am on 11.
We both go to the games together so I wondered where the difference was. It seems that when I bought the tickets for the Norway game they have both gone through under my name!
Looks like I may end up just being able to get myself a ticket (if any are left)

id contact the SSC in that case as they should be able to resolve this for you.

I have emailed them and will phone at the beginning of next week if I haven’t heard anything.

I’m just glad that I spotted it now and not when I was trying to get some tickets.

Got a glossy leaflet through the door this morning from Roz McCall MSP, purporting to be her 2023 annual report. Having read and reread it, there is no single mention of the party she is a member of. I had to google her name to see she is a Tory, but I fully suspected that by the lack of any party affiliation on the leaflet.

I wondered what party she was as well, the light blue on leaflet was the only clue as to who it might be.

I had to check as well to confirm what I had already thought was the case before filing them in the paper recycling.

  20. VAR is killing football as a live spectacle for the match going fans. I much prefer attending games where it isn’t used now and a goal can be celebrated after a quick glance to see if the linesman has his flag up.

I feel it is been driven by the fact it increases the drama in live games on TV and gives the pundits something else to dissect after a game.

Personally it sums up to myself everything that is wrong with modern football.
