  1. Legend doesn’t even begin to describe Sir Andy. He is without a doubt the greatest living Scottish sportsman.
  2. Is the Nisbet sell on fee a one off if Hibs sell him or say he went to Celtic and was a big hit there getting a big move down south, would The Pars get a cut of that transfer fee too?
  3. Have they decided which ends of the ground each teams fans will be at yet? I see that the prices are pretty outrageous as well but if it sells out then there can’t be any complaints. Unfortunately it would also set a precedent for prices at future finals though.
  4. Even former leaders of the branch office don’t agree with this.
  5. Cyprus sold out as well now. I would imagine some tickets may become available nearer the game.
  6. I am a SSC member as well and that’s one of my biggest moans re the South Stand Upper tickets. Apparently most are held for Debenture holders and only become available if they aren’t taken up by a few weeks before the game. Last year I took up the 5 match package but was in the upper wing stand above where the visiting fans usually sit. My older son got tickets for the Ireland game two weeks before the game and they were for the central upper stand. So you may get luck with tickets for that area as it’s the best view in the ground. I have just bought individual tickets this time in the west and east stands for a change this time.
  7. You should get a confirmation email almost straight away and it always show’s pending on my credit card as soon as I complete the purchase. Last year there was always some tickets became available near to the date of the match. Sometimes the better seats in the upper stand as well.
  8. I suppose It’s the only game on a Saturday and it’s the first game.
  9. Did all channels do that or just the Beeb? I also remember the religious spot every night ‘Late Call’ which was the inspiration for the Rev I M Jolly. Thankfully we had all night TV by the time I was working overnight in Casinos or I would have had to talk to the other staff in the staff room on my breaks!
  10. I wish we had a video recorder then we could record it and watch it in the morning! I am sure many playground discussions the day after The Young Ones just consisted of us all quoting the previous night’s episode.
  11. TV finishing around 11pm - midnight and then being left with a wee white dot on the screen, there was no breakfast TV either. Pubs being shut on a Sunday and having to go to a Hotel Bar for a drink, if they had a satellite dish you could watch the live English game via Borders TV. Standing outside Radio Rentals on a Saturday afternoon to get the football results.
  12. It should actually be a major selling point for our game that the club which essentially invented the modern passing game is currently doing so well. Unfortunately, as fans of everyone else knows, the media in this country only cares about two teams.
  13. Are you saving up for the Wembley weekend? or even to go to the World Cup Finals.
  14. I totally agree with everything you say but what makes it even worse for me is that this is a new ground. It’s almost as though there has been absolutely no thought whatsoever for any standing spectators. We have better toilet facilities at our Scouts campsite. It’s certainly not a ground I would want to have to go back to. I don’t think it would be able to hold a game with either of the big Glasgow or Edinburgh teams without any temporary stands put in. I would expect they would have to move any game to Easter Road or Tynecastle
  15. At least we got to change ends at halftime. A shame we are a bit further from the goal.
  16. If I was Harry I wouldn’t accept any invitations to any fishing trips in the near future.
  17. Visiting a ground is visiting a ground there shouldn’t be any rules. When I was a lad and was on holiday in London my dad spent a day taking me round a lot of the main football grounds in the city. We went to Chelsea, Fulham, QPR, Arsenal, Spurs and West Ham. At all of the grounds we managed to get inside to see the stadiums and get a photo taken. As we were walking away from Upton Park a car pulled up and Trevor Brooking got out, he was more than happy to have a photo taken. Nowadays you would probably have to pay a silly amount to have an official stadium tour. I later got to see actual games in all of these grounds when I lived in London a few years later.
  18. I can accept the view of the pitch being poor. I have watched my boys playing football from the pitch side. I can accept standing out in the open in bad weather. I am old enough to remember the away ends at Tynecastle and Easter Road back in the day. But Nae Pies at the ground!!!!!!!!! I suppose I will have to visit Stephen before heading off tomorrow.
  19. It’s good to see that in this time of multiple strikes, a crumbling NHS and a cost of living crisis the BBC has got its priorities right!
  20. What’s parking like near the ground? I had been going by bus, but my son is happy to drive over.
  21. It’s official now. Just been announced on the club website Shinnie is home.
  22. I did see that and was just being slightly sarcastic. it’s a shame it’s only at one end of the ground as it would be nice to change ends at halftime.
  23. I didn’t make the first game this season, but at £12 and under 18 free I might venture along this weekend. Should I take binoculars with me?
  24. I got this as a Christmas present from my youngest son(the first time he has bought presents with his own money from a paper round, my Mrs just said get him a football book) I have to admit that apart from the cup final goals I didn’t know much about Tommy. Though my Dad says he saw him once playing at Alloa and sending opposing players flying with his tackles. I have to admit that I am thoroughly enjoying it so far.
  25. Pretty poor performance considering how many tickets they had sold and this weather has been forecast for a while so wasn’t a surprise I work in social care and have been on shift since 9am yesterday. I am due to finish at 1pm today and was going to head straight to the game. Knowing that I had this to look forward to made up for having a dry Hogmanay and an early night. I had a ticket for the NW as my boys have season tickets there, so just hope I can make the rearranged date.
