  1. I said previously I wanted to make Rangers earn it if they won and ultimately I don't think they did. You can't get away with defending like that, it's criminal. However, switching off twice aside, I thought we recovered well enough from the goal and were ok up until the 2nd. After that we got scrappy and too open and despite nearly scoring, could easily have lost more. We had good passages of pressure but weren't clinical and it's cost us. The Shankland header feels like a sliding doors moment, this season these have been going in, yesterday it's the wrong side of the post. Felt sorry for Tait in tears at the end. It was his mistake for the 2nd but he was trying to be positive, you can't be annoyed at youngsters for trying to do the right thing. One of his team mates should've blootered Cantwell and taken the yellow anyway to cover him. Overall disappointed, but it doesn't feel as bad as the LC semi which was just abject. We were competitive enough, just lacked composure at the right moments.
  2. He never attempted to claim for it because he realised he'd had a fucking disaster.
  3. Looking forward to this. Just go in and give a good account of ourselves. If we lose we'll be tarnished as shitebags, but Rangers should be beating us realistically but we definitely have a decent chance. Just don't shit the bed. If they win, make them earn it. No daft goals given away, no daft tackles that give away reds or penalties. They can 100% be got at.
  4. Unlucky Aberdeen. Genuinely thought you'd get beaten comfortably today but that was some real fight and grit shown. Thought you were going to nick it when Hart missed his penalty.
  5. Was just going to say this, there's nothing physical about us.
  6. Well quite, but that was kind of my point. In order for the investment to be ratified they had to prove to the SFA they'd not be involved in running the footballing side of the club, which is exactly what they seem to be doing mere months after getting involved. Interesting to see if the SFA are bothered or not.
  7. It doesn't take a genius to figure out BK are involved in football decisions though does it? Though I doubt the SFA are even remotely interested tbh, was more just curious about the situation.
  8. Lots of media etc saying things like Montgomery is "under Foley's microscope" and reporting that he/BK group aren't happy. That's not sustainable surely without it being obvious? I mean clearly they'll say one thing while doing another, but the SFA are surely monitoring the situation given dual ownership is a new thing. Then again, that'd rely on them being remotely competent.
  9. I don't feel sorry for him tbf But it's not a very good statement from an employer IMO.
  10. I thought part of the investment from the BK group was conditional on them not having any say or authority on the football side of the club? That statement sounds very much like they are heavily involved. Think it's a bit of a shite statement tbh. Touch of arrogance that you are somehow above a bottom 6 finish, and it doesn't do anything for Montgomery's position either way. Back him or get rid surely? Instead that reads like he's left in limbo and leaves him open to shite questions from the press for the remanider of the season making it even harder for him.
  11. Thought Shankland was brilliant yesterday. A goal, two assists and a big hand in the other goal. Great to see. No real animosity towards Livingston. Don't like their pitch but that's about it, hardly an offensive club. Good luck for next season.
  12. Nieuwenhof, Beni, Shanks and Kingsley all back. Lovely stuff. Hopefully Hof gets a good runout before the semi as he's most in need of minutes.
  13. It wasn't clear and obviously wrong, there was a coming together and McMenamin looks like he flicks his leg towards Denholm. I don't think it's a penalty, I certainly don't think the refs decision was clearly incorrect. But we've gotten away with one as 9 times out of 10 it's given when sent to the monitor.
  14. Thought our penalty was harsh but it seems they are given all the time these days which is shite for the game. Not quite sure why the ref was even sent to check the St Mirren one, never a penalty. However once he's sent I was convinced it'd be given. We've been on the receiving end of the ref sticking to his decision and it feels like a double dunt, sore one. The wind ruined it as a spectacle, pretty much every pass over 10 yards was affected. Both teams done their best given the conditions. Really pleased to dig that out considering the players we were missing.
  15. Not convinced by that lineup. Shankland out obviously a blow but confidence Kenny will do well enough, more frustrated that we probably should be playing Oda and Forrest up with him rather than just Forrest. Looks a bit lacking in attacking quality.
  16. Up and down season. Started it really well, has toiled since injury though. He gets stick but I think he's an excellent defender, especially 1 on 1. Weirdly he looked like he'd be an attacking full back who had to sharpen up defensively when he joined, but now it's the opposite. You can trust him but he needs to do more going forward.
  17. Beni likely out with illness and Nieuwenhof still out. Devlin and Tait in the middle is pretty lightweight if that's what we go with.
  18. I wouldn't be against games being off for wind as it ruins it as a spectacle, however I can't remember a game ever being called off for high winds. We had one earlier in the season that was about 60mph the whole game. Want to say Dundee.
  19. This. I don't really dislike St Mirren all that much, I'm under 40 so 86 wasn't on my radar and any other games you've beaten us in that mattered in recent years I blame Hearts for. But even if I did hate you, it wouldn't be enough to want me wanting Hibs in the top 6. As low as possible for them, always, please.
  20. Not exactly unrealistic Hibs can get 6 though. Tough game for us this, but we could so with a win. We were OK in spells at thr weekend and will have a further week of training with everyone back so should be beneficial. I'll go for a narrow 2-1 for Hearts.
  21. I think it's fair to say it's a brilliant finish. I think it's also fair for Hearts fans to look at that and think the defending is pish. The initial header is soft and when it's picked up there is absolutely no pressure applied. If Lembikisa or Kent push out he doesn't get the time to line it up like that. Not that I'd expect Killie fans to care about any of that, but it's not anything unusual for Hearts fans to be disappointed at it.
  22. I'm hopeful we won't. Big squad of players trying to get in with a point to prove. Yesterday was a lot of guys who'd been all over the world and only returned to training on Friday. Next week will tell us a lot though in that regard. Not surprised we weren't at our best but still thought we were decent at times.
  23. Thought a draw was about fair. Better result for us than Killie though, but no one settled and both teams were trying to win it. Enjoyable game. Good play from Shankland at our goal and Watkins' was a fucker.
  24. Tough game this. Realistically a draw would be fine, Killie are unlikely to overtake us anyway, but if you keep it at 11 points of a lead and stopped them cutting it to 8 it stops any unnecessary nerves. That said we are at home and should be looking to win. Before the international break Naismith said we should have Nieuwenhof and Kent back, but it seems to have gone a bit quiet on them so no idea. Would be a massive boost if they were available. We have a lot of players travelling long distances back after international duty so it might effect our lineup a bit. Think Oda might start over Vargas and McKay is back as well and although he's unlikely to start, it'll be great to have him back as an option off the bench. I'll go for a narrow 2-1 win for Hearts.
