  1. Will the hive still be following orders next week? A good chance for Ewing to get his own back for the greater good. Will Matheson still have the powers to vote and can Sturgeon be relied upon to turn up at her work these days?

With the rate of change today it also gets more likely by the hour he realises his tea is oot and throws the towel in before any vote

There will be a vote of no confidence next week, Tories have already confirmed it will be brought to the floor.

There will be certainly 63 SNP votes of confidence and 57 LIB/LAB/CON votes of no confidence. There is eight green MSP's and who will decide the outcome of the vote. I don't know how they will vote, I bet Patrick Harvie doesn't know how they'll vote yet either. Ash Regans one vote for Alba will be unlikely to matter.

The question the Greens will be asking themselves is if they want to see the man who just sacked them from government after backing down on a climate pledge continue as First Minister while they sit in opposition. I assume you think they do want that? Maybe they do, we'll soon find out.

The presiding office still seemed to be assisting Humza earlier so fair chance they will still be onside when the tears stop

  3. With friends like these who needs enemies. A shameful dumping of the gardening wing with not even a vote to make it look like a unified decision. Humza seems to have forgotten one chunk of his party runs seamlessly into green territory. Surely Forbes or the skull can't be too far away from putting Humza out his own misery

Shiny new stuff does help with the long term plans of the club and a majority of fans support it , Hub has brought in much needed income , new shop has more than doubled the sales , new hospitality going to bring in over 100% more than old suite , I would hate to think where this club would be without the funds being provided from the shiny new things

The answer would be probably in debt and perhaps heading down a division after paying off a string of managers plus covering a transfer dept that might not have washed it's own face. Spending on infrastructure  is great and will be worth the sacrifice for pushing us up a level. Once the stand opens hopefully a lot of distraction is removed and the focus becomes mainly around the playing side.  Excluding Brown i do remember the last decent manager we hired managed to put us in a better place without all of the added luxuries.

A lot of Green councillors openly speaking out now against Bute House, if they get the numbers for an EGM in the first place I reckon they'll collapse it.

There is a reasonable theoretical argument around environmental policies that there should be less focus on benchmarking targets for a certain date and more focus on what policies will get you the long term reductions and improvements you're aiming for, rather than flailing around to try to meet unrealistic short term targets which leads to failure to adopt policies that will be better in the long term as a result.

That's not going to stand up as an argument for what the government are doing here, because the policies aren't actually there. It's chucking the target which could be fair enough in isolation, but having little of substance to replace it beyond well intentioned language about taking action rather than having policies ready to go.

You're getting to the point where nothing that was agreed for power sharing is coming to pass anyway, so the Greens are serving no purpose beyond being a lightning rod for criticism and that will end up killing them at the ballot box as even their core voters turn their backs over failing to achieve anything. Some of that has been due to an unprecedented intransigence and trampling of devolution on the part of the UK government after bills on devolved matters have been passed which neither party leadership can be blamed for, but much of it has been down to the incompetence of one or both of them and if it leads to the Greens being the ones to collapse the agreement, then even though some in the SNP will be happy to see it and they'll still have the numbers to govern in the meantime, it's only going to increase the lame duck feeling around Yousaf.

It's possible that the shadow of Murrell would have tanked any SNP leadership, but it was Yousaf's choice to set himself up as being so close to Sturgeon in his leadership bid and from the shambolic handling of the council tax freeze onwards the setbacks have undeniably been self-inflicted.

A journalist on X saying a general meeting has been agreed but no date yet. Will this come to more than the annual handbags each year around budget time? Surely there are some members who still prioritise animal welfare/greenhouse gases to bickering around gender issues?

OK, if we don't upgrade the defence or the attack then fear not because that means a world class midfield is incoming.

I am very curious to find out what exactly Brown's plans are in terms of incoming for next season. As it stands it doesn't seem like it's going to be an overhaul. Fully expecting a 2 or 3 quality additions line at some point.

There is also a recurring theme in this league of teams having an injury crisis and dropping points. In addition to adding quality having better cover and balance may also help to kick us on. Hoping we may build the squad a bit and still places available for a good few signings

Putting my flak jacket/gilet on for this one.  Rose has been scoring goals, in league 1 granted, but I think he’s worth another go. Goal scorers are so hard to come by and given our track record for signings I'm glass half empty about doing better. Before he went to Hamilton I thought his first game of football was for Ayr but his loan move is proof there is a player there. Worst case scenario we send him back out on loan.

From memory Rose did ok against Arbroath and Queens Park during their early season slump. Perhaps you could have made an arguement around adjusting to the game up here but i also think the league below might just be his level

Reminds me of the arguments about Henry Templeton years ago He'd either be invisible or a world beater. He'd have contributed little in a game then go on a mazy run out of nowhere drifting by half a team and setting up or scoring the winner.

Templeton is a good example and in those days you'd get away more with a maverick player. Had the sports science and distance covered been around it would have been interesting to see where he stood

He has been contracted to Dundee United who haven’t looked to use him, this summer is his first chance to achieve that really.

IMO, every team in this league next season would be interested in signing him if they could.

Outside Fotheringham, he is now the top scoring midfielder in the league btw.

He was down south also last season and had there been interest IUnited would have moved him on by now. I agree that some teams in the league will be keen on signing him. Others who play a certain system and allow less of a free role won't. If he is going to be one of our top earners then happy if signs providing they build a team around him. If Brown wants a certain work rate and more of an overall game from the players then money better spent elsewhere

Anyone who doesn't think Chalmers is good enough for Ayr is absolutely bonkers.

He'll not beat his man every time, he'll not track back much and he's as one footed as it gets.

When he gets the ball though he gets you off your seat and you expect something to happen. He"s a terrific championship player and will be the difference next season in a team with better balance and identity than the shit show we've had this season.

If he goes to Airdrie/Raith/Partick we'll wish we'd kept him.

It's not quite as simple as that. Why has a player with attacking technical ability beyond this league not found a home and be among the first names on the team sheet?

I suppose the one thing going for Sanders is that he is relatively young for a centre half - he has only just turned 25 and has not played a lot of football so there should be lots of development in him.

There is definitely something there - he can look good on the ball and be dominant. We have just seen too much of the other side of him.

If he were 21/22 i would agree with you and more inclined to take a punt. Would be interested to see how he fared in the league below and whether it's the level causing the moments of madness. We really need to sign a steady defender or two, doesn't even need to be the most capable but just someone who is steady away. Literally every defender we have is erratic and it looks like many of them will be kept on

Considering the way energy prices alone have gone up it wouldn’t be a surprise if there is an increase in tickets and the new stand will perhaps have a premium attached.

If we haven’t already reached it yet there is a point where affordability will become the main reason for many choosing how they attend. Marquee signings etc will still count but the per person match day spend model might not work at championship level

  13. A win and a draw from the next two games will see us safe. Not quite a formality as Morton are one of the teams we haven't played well against. We seem to have tightened up so hopefully can avoid being pushed about and leaking silly goals. Whilst four points will be enough it may take a few weeks of teams throat cutting until safety is confirmed.

Raith have shown that you only need to be slightly less howling than the rest of the teams in the league to be have a chance of promotion.

Few decent signings and we can be up there next year.

Post covid and since cash in the game tightened further this league has played out the same most seasons. A lack of depth and quality has meant very few outstanding sides and most teams able to beat one another. Don't see things changing too much next season and another open league. It will only take a few decent signings to push us up a good few places.

Brown made a comment about Tomlinson saying he has a lot of work to do on the defensive side of his game if he is to play right back. Personally I thought he looked OK against Airdrie playing further up the pitch but as the first half went on he started to fade out the game. I don’t see the merit in making him a right back so early in his career when he could be a perfectly decent winger.

He is still fairly young and got time to develop. They obviously see something there which is good and can hopefully turn this into eventual first team appearances. Alongside this Bryden and McKenzie have also been playing unusual roles whilst Bryden perhaps should have went on on loan earlier. Appreciate we have just had to get by this season but i do hope they have a proper pathway to get young players developed and not just covering problem positions

I suppose another frustration with McAllister signing on is it puts a bit of a stop gap on Watret for next season unless we’re running with those pair as our number one and two in that position.

I think the best way I can describe him is frustrating. He should’ve been having a far greater impact on games this season and he had a wee purple patch but outside that I think he’s been underwhelming. Definitely not as good as he was last season although maybe that’s the change of position.

There’s been a lot of games I’ve seen where the full back gets the better of him in the first five minutes and that’s him done. I don’t think the pitch at Somerset helps. It’s no coincidence that his best games this season have come away from home on a wider pitch where he can get on the outside and away quicker.

I think if he gets fit then he needs to play as he obviously still has more output than Bryden but I think if the best you’re hoping for with a wide player is one good game in five then you can get a cheaper alternative. The teams that win this league very rarely have outstanding options out wide. It’s in their defence, central midfield and up front that makes the difference. If he was willing to take a big cut from his rumoured wage at Dundee United then fair enough but I can see teams being willing to pay more and I don’t think we should get drawn into that.

We signed a right back in the summer. He was horrible but we did sign one. And would’ve signed a left back if it wasn’t for injuries elsewhere.

I think also people need to look at the summer past and remember that Bullen deciding to f**k off for a fortnight probably killed us. He is obviously entitled to a holiday like everyone and I’m not proposing we lock Brown in a room until all the signings are done but those first couple of weeks after the season ends are crucial and the club were just absolutely no where in that time.

It does raise questions around the pathway for Watret. By next season i would like to see him as cover for right back and getting involved quite often in games. Have they also not been trying to shoehorn Tomlinson into this position also? Unless Watret is away down south in the summer or McAllister is indeed our first choice right back

I think he is and we don’t actually have any idea what it would take to sign him  - signing actual football players helps sell season tickets, there is potential there for resale value and if he maintains his first half of the season form for longer he is one of the best players in the league.

If we don’t sign him, we certainly won’t sign anyone any better.

It perhaps depends on the system and style we will play. If it's one based around work ethic and reliant on everyone doing certain tasks then he might not fit in as well. On the other hand if the creative players are given more of a free run and play built around them then he may do well

They aren't that underrepresented though. According to the 2011 census black people made up 0.13% of the population and the majority of those were first generation immigrants. How many folk who move to a country become that politically involved? Things will change in that respect over time (they are changing now) but he ignores that entirely and jumps immediately to "structural racism".

It's a pretty wild speech but it's Humza all over. He loves playing the role of victim (see "I've been fighting for my rights my  whole life" when talking about someone else's struggle or the time he fell over his knee-scooter and dug Glenn Campbell for making fun of someone with a disability when he posted the video) and this is just that. I have no problem taking a look at Scotland's racism, and I wouldn't claim that Scotland doesn't have any sense of structural racism, but everything he talked about here can be explained by other factors. He also identifies a problem that, as a poster pointed out earlier, might not actually be a problem but an accurate reflection of our demographics.

Navigating those daily struggles in a good fee paying school make him the perfect candidate to be lecturing Scotland on disadvantage.
