  1. I always felt that last season he was coming back from an injury that kept him sidelined for a while (IIRC). He is still young and is not being brushed aside as easily as he once was. Still one of the best prospects at this level.
  2. And Lo, it came to pass that the Lord looked down and saw that the money lenders had ravaged the Land of Blue and rendered it incapable of its only purpose on earth. And the masses cried out and said, "why hast thou forsaken us Oh Lord, for are we not thy chosen people?" And the Lord replied that they had sorely vexed him by using false prophets and charlatans and generally had been a right royal pain by laying waste the towns and villages of the land for years. They had also indulged in the sin of gluttony by grabbing all the TV rights. Then the masses cried out "whitaboot the other lot from the Land of Green" And the Lord said "for future reference, my decisions are final"
  3. t.b.f. is this not the worst Hibs side in decades??? (Unless they beat Sevco tomorrow)
  4. Gate experiment in the South Stand didn't work then...who could have expected that???
  5. This bit is for you then:- We are also pleased to be one the first club in Scotland to introduce mobile Usherette Trays which means fans can be served directly in the stands to avoid queuing. Takes me back to the guy who used to go round Brockville with a canister of bovril and disposable cups, with a tray of pies.
  6. Our traditional strip was always Navy Blue Top, White Shorts and Red socks. Which is why the scarf is blue, with a white stripe interposed with a red stripe.
  7. The first rule of "beat Celtic in a replayed Scottish Cup Semi Club" is....
  8. You think that was a great night......you should have been in the Roman Bar when the team turned up....
  9. Carmuirs and Graeme High...might not be Cheam and Eton, but they served me well enough.
  10. I always feel that we are too easily taken advantage of by avaricious bigger clubs. When we have a good manager e.g. Jeffries and McCall, then a club comes and waves a cheque book and they are gone. The cheques are never big enough to fully compensate for the loss.....and they should be. If we have a good player, the same thing happens. This has gone on for years. (I can go back to the days of Parker and White). Like any business, if you don't protect your prime assets, you will lose them. When you look round at the former players and some managers around the leagues then you wonder "what if" On a different topic, are the club going to do anything to take advantage of the fact that literally across the road, will be a major attraction with limited refreshment outlets and car parking. I don't know if there are planning issues with having a child friendly/ sports (something for the dads) bar either at the NW corner of the car park or developing the existing facilities. I say a different topic, but it isn't really, its still protecting assets.
  11. On Holt, I will be pleased if he gets us into the playoffs. We should be consolidating over the next couple of years, not over extending the balance sheet, but building a fighting fund and using it to retain the best of our youngsters, and seeding the team with experienced players who can help with the youth development on the pitch. If only there were a few more Owen Coyles....
  12. To be fair to the ref, I said at the time that Roberts had head butted somebody (albeit an Alan Pardew(sp) headbutt). Bearing in mind that the offence is "strikes or attempts to strike"', think he was lucky that the ref has realised that he should have booked Mensing for the original offence AND either a straight red for raising his hands (sic) to Sibbs or a second yellow for aggressive behaviour. Its fairly typical in referee land that the person who is most culpable gets the least punishment.
