  1. I think the post split fixtures are pretty good for us. Assuming neither us or Dundee get anything against Rangers or Celtic, we'll go to Dens still 3 points ahead. Even if we lose that, we then have two home games in a row against Killie and Hearts while they are away at Tynecastle and Ibrox.

Need to try and get 5th secured before the last game though.

Weather in Dundee today/tomorow - quite nice (though its just started bucketing down here, about half way between Perth and Dundee and it looks like its heading Dundee's direction). Weather on Wednesday - shit.

    Comedy outcome inbound.

The forecast for Wednesday in Dundee is light rain, if that causes another postponement they should just forget it and force dundee to play all their remaining home games at a neutral venue.

McCracken is a defo if we can get him. A young keeper of real promise.
You’ve got to wonder if Carson is injured or he’s thrown a hissy fit over something. If we get McCracken he can f**k off if he wants to imo.

If Carson isn't back in against the Rangers, prepare for trouble.

    Agreed.

Not sure if Dundee are due 3 away games, but if they are, hopefully the league will keep it simple and just send them to us for a third time.

Don’t want us to have to go to them and the league send Rangers to us for a third time.

Dundee are due 3 "at home" but if May is wet i can see the SPFL maybe, hopefully, intervening.

I was just a wean and went to games with my mum as my dad didnt like football. For years after that game, she kept on asking me how Alan Logan was getting on, even 20 years later! I dont think she understood how long a football career usually lasted. I thought Logan at the time would go onto have a better career than he did though.

I that case, I hope Dundee miss out as I assume if it's Hibs or Motherwell, we'd have them at home rather than Rangers as we're due to play them at home anyway. Don't want our 3 home games advantage being diluted by two of them being against Celtic and Rangers.

Especially if we have to go to Dundee's tattiefield as one of our away games.

With Motherwell and possibly St.J seemingly just about to have a degree of investment to boost their coffers and Livingston about to depart the top league, it would appear that we will be the only club in the league that don't have a rich benefactor. I'm assuming Dundee United will come up and that whoever is in the play offs will see off championship opposition.

Looks like it's going to be even more difficult next season to compete financially with our competition.

Dundee have just posted massive losses for the second year in a row, i'd be amazed if anyone with any real wealth is interested in St Johnstone, Motherwell might get a netflix documentary but not much else, while Hibs "investment" will see them being forced to play loanees from bigger clubs who arent very good. As for Dundee United, they will need fo invest in an entirely new squad to avoid going straight back down.

Meanwhile, we are regularly getting crowds of 7000 plus. I think we'll be absolutely fine.

Sorry but why is it debatable?  The pitch was declared playable.  Are you suggesting the pitch was not playable?

Better still, are you wanting to go on record to say the match official was “under pressure from his employer”,   ignored a “massive hazard” and placed the players in danger?  A certain other poster claimed this at one point but appeared to back away from that when challenged about it.

That was kind of what Stuart Kettlewell said, who obviously saw the pitch better than us. Motherwell made an official complaint, didnt they?

My point is the uncertainty for everyone because your pitch is a disgrace isnt any good, so a quick decision to move the games would have been better?

That’s not the basis for a pitch being unplayable.

I’ll ask again - why didn’t they move your game at the weekend to a neutral venue.

Because we've had 0 games postponed this season while Dundee have had a lot off, due to the state of a really dodgy pitch, because you have the ignominy of one week being the only professional game in the UK called off, because kids games in Dundee went ahead with no issue while you needed 3 inspections before your weekend game was passed fit to play, a decision which Motherwell disagreed with.

So that, in a nutshell, is why no other games should have been moved to neutral venues but yours should have been.

    Thank you.

Why would you move the game on Saturday when a playable pitch was already available?

Thats debatable. My point is, this uncertainty for clubs, players and fans is unacceptable so a quick decision to move both games would have been much preferable, the sooner this is done the easier it is to resolve any logistical problems.

If Gogic leaves, where do people think he'll go? Only realistic options I can see in Scotland are Killie, Motherwell and Dundee. Guess if one of them is in Europe that convince him.

I cant see him going to another Scottish club. Hibs let him go so clubs with better finances than us are unlikely to be interested, while Killie, Well and Dundee are similar level clubs to us, so why not just stay?

If he doesnt stay my money is on a return home to Cyprus, i know he has a young family bur not sure where they are based but that could be the deciding factor.

I’d add in Fin Robertson as well as I think that would be a decent defensively minded midfield.   I wouldn’t try to get the full 90 minutes out of him though like Doc appeared to want to do at Parkhead.

Also, I’ve loved watching Dundee playing some very good and entertaining football this season but I don’t think we should even try to do that tomorrow night.  Better to try and just frustrate Rangers at every opportunity and see how that works out.

Yes i think if you play entertaining football tomorrow night it would be a complete waste of time.

  13. The priority for the post split games is always to have everyone playing 19 home and 19 away, that takes precedence over having to play away against one side three times for instance. I cant recall any time when a t*eam had a 20/18 or 18/20 split, certainly not when it mattered.

The issue this season would be if Hibs or Motherwell finish top 6, meaning 4 sides would be only entitled to 2 home games but one of them would need to get 3.

If the SPFL had any sense, they'd give that extra home game to Hearts, as they are secure in third so the advantage for them wouldnt be as critical, but its the SPFL so who knows.

*which is kind of what DC92 said but i hadnt read the post properly.

From a fans perspective it's always going to be a yes. Even if you don't go to the games because they are 7 timezones away next to a war zone, it's nice to see your team in the mix.

I was more meaning from a club's point of view. Didn't St Johnstone lose a ton of money from their last European sojourn? Or Motherwell for that matter?

FFS, I cant even get my wife to agree for me to take the wean to Parkhead next week, what chance have i got if we're playing in a war zone?
