  1. Theres a good stats thread on WAT. Some quite eye opening statistics. Basically, the season is currently very similar, at least statistically. to Murdo's season, and that was when you were guaranteed four games against both of the Old Firm and the other top clubs regardless of position.
  2. He was excellent in the 1st half was putting in a few very good tackles. I reckon it must be sitting behind the goal that skews your view, as I had no idea until I seen the highlights that he had a part in selling the 1st goal. Then the needless red card. Seen Archie's comments on Sportscene that he won't waste his time chapping the refs door. I mean, its not going to be overturned, but could he be anymore passive in his interviews? They're a write off of cliches. Its not just the players who need motivating just now, its the fans.
  3. One good thing to come from yesterday was Devine being suspended. I honestly don't think he would start for any team the league below except Brechin or Dumbarton. A total liability, and an Archibald favourite. Osman needs papped out the team as well just now. A total shadow of the player he was. Ballin' for some English non-league muck and selling t-shirts in 6 months, IMO.
  4. The club are skint and theres a bunch of sugar daddy funded clubs at that level which will always hamper their ability to bounce back quicker. Salford, Fylde, Barrow etc.
  5. Also, can we please get this relaxed attitude to relegation right out the window. In my lifetime, the last twice it has happened, relegation from this league has resulted in an exodus of players, crowds plummeting, and years of rebuilding. Infact, the last time the arse fell right out of it and we went down again. Theres nothing that suggests we have the resources, ability or mentality to bounce back right away. Theres no way I trust spice boys like Storey or Barton to go to places like Cappielow and get stuck in, more chance of them complaining about the facilities and the heating in the dressing room not being on. That being said, I strangely think theres some ability in the squad, to somehow get out of this. Theres just absolutely no leadership or fighting spirit amongst anyone at the club. We're one of the most mentally fragile football teams I've ever seen at any level.
  6. Nah man I blame the fans. Someone shouting about ****. I blame Osman. I blame the grass. I blame the opposition. Weather wasn't the best. However, I definitely do not blame the manager, no sirreee.
  7. Plains is, how can you put it, a funny wee place.
  8. I work in mental health, with people who have at one time been detained at some time or another but are now back living in the community. We cover from Stepps right out to Caldercruix, Aye, not very glamorous places in the main.
  9. Getting fed up of using up my annual leave on this shite, to the point I've offered my boss to work Sunday. Unfortunately where I live and the places I work are all well inside the red warning area. Small villages in that area along between Glasgow and Edinburgh will be treacherous for days after it has stopped. Wee places like Plains which are so hilly struggle to handle a few centimetres, nevermind this.
  10. I am demented with boredom here. I work in places like Greengairs, Plains and Caldercruix which struggle to manage dribbles of snow let alone inches.
  11. This current Thistle team is the type of c***s who punt herbalife on instagram.
  12. By the way, Paul Paton. I would certainly give him a sniff till the end of the season. Hes an average player at this level, but we could do with someone like him, even for just his mere presence in the dressing room. Too many nice lads and spice boys in the team, could do with a ned like him who will get in folks faces and put in a dirty tackle. I was thinking lately, but have we actually had any real difficult personalities in the dressing rooms? Higgy and Stevenson were shipped out fairly quickly, and I'm not sure I'd even class them as neds, more just huffy. Hamilton's team is packed with thugs and bams.
  13. Some Thistle fans on twitter are just as head melting as many of those on WAT, just at the polar opposite end of the Archie-scale. A number of folk seem to have taken the fans frustration again as a personal attack on Archibald. Theres actually a large core of folk in the middle, whilst concerned as f**k, don't actually want him sacked this instance, however its the usual fingers in ears patter from them and "name someone better" anger as if any criticism of the team is prohibited coz its Archie.
  14. The worst thing about yesterday for me is how crippled Hamilton were by the end. Three enforced subs, the likes of Skondras, Crawford, MacKinnon out completely, yet they still won. Just imagine how good they'll be when the injuries clear up.
  15. Archie's post match interview on jagzone is grim. Three minutes of cliches and no substance.
  16. The arse has totally fallen out of Archie's reign. I don't have any faith in him and this bunch of fairies to stay up, nor grind out results in the league below. I'm happy to let him even get a crack of the whip however in the 1st division, but games like today are really testing my patience in terms of that.
  17. I think that was part of what set Lambie apart from other Thistle managers. His side was full of bams with dig and grit. When's the last time you seen Booth or Edwards or Barton or anyone put in a dirty tackle. Team full of nice boys.
  18. "Alan Archibald is a great manager" Our fans are fucking clowns.
  19. The most cost effective way for teams at this level to build a squad of players they can sell on is by taking players from lower levels or whom have been rejected higher up and developing them. Our title winning squad was full of players from 2nd and 3rd division, junior clubs and guys released from SPL youth setups. Infact as far as I know, only Stuart Bannigan came through the youth system and we got him well into his teens as he was actually at Celtic first. It's costs a fortune to run these systems for often little return in the lower divisions. The media won't let that get in the way of a good Armageddon story though.
