  1. Played in our Wednesday sweep yesterday. Very nice start of bogey, par, par, par.

Hit a great drive on par 4 5th. Had 80 yards to the pin for my 2nd. Pushed it right, absolutely plugged in the bunker, 3 shots to get out and thus out of nowhere 6 shots to get down from 80 yards and a triple bogey 7.

Played reasonably steadily after that and ended up with a nett 75.

    Bloody golf.

  2. This taken from the BBC report on the match says so much about what is wrong at Man United.
“Brazilian wideman Antony cupped his ears at the Coventry fans at the end, even though United were 3-0 up when he replaced Alejandro Garnacho”.  Honest to God what an  incredible lack of self awareness. Antony is one of many who is the problem and never in a million years part of the solution at a basket case of a club.

A repeat of the 1980 SC final?

Get Archie to write a script for the TV pundits. Think he might need to tone down the language as I’m not sure the modern day equivalent could pronounce some of these words.

“This is like a scene out of Apocalypse Now…we’ve got the equivalent of Passchendaele and that says nothing for Scottish football. At the end of the day, let’s not kid ourselves. These supporters hate each other.”

First Old Firm Scottish Cup Final since 2002.  Must be plenty of opportunity to populate that script.

Well, I managed to make it through the first 45 seconds of the buffoon's post match interview before turning it off.  His opening gambit regarding his pre-match team talk was "it is imperative that we don't lose this game of football.  Go out there and give everything you can, possibly to win it."  Possibly?  FFS!

It’s a very low bar but I actually thought it was one of his better post match interviews tbh. That’s not saying much mind you. For all it grates it’s also true that we just couldn’t afford to lose yesterday.

We can't expect Bartley to adapt his game plan to get the best out of his better players though. So Gibson can play in a position that hinders him and like it!

Indeed. We shoehorn players into a system that doesn’t suit some of our better players rather than have a system that would get the best out of the players we have.

Think this is extremely harsh on Gibson. Had a look through their comparative stats:-

    McKechnie - 19 starts, 1 assist, 2 goals.

    Gibson - 10 starts, 7 assists, 2 goals.

I'll also add that Gibson has only had 3 starts in a row all season*. How on earth is an 18 year old supposed to get into a rhythm when he's barely given a run of games (yet shite like Ferguson continually start and don't improve at all...). Whatever way you want to look at it, Gibson is streets ahead of McKechnie with half the starts and should have been starting far more often than he has. Dress it up any way you want, the blame absolutely does lie at the feet of Bartley. Another useless piece of management from him.

    * In the league certainly, never checked the cup games.

Yes totally agree Gibson is better than McKechnie but as I said I thought he was really poor today. Gibson should get more starts in my view although he’s never a wing back in a million years.

No question in my mind re Bartley. He’s an absolute charlatan.

  7. Gibson clearly has talent and to be fair to him he’s not a wing back but I thought he was awful today.
The much maligned McKechnie offered more in his short period on.
It was a dreadful game of football and it says it all for me that a player I absolutely don’t rate (McKay) was probably our best player.

In the context of fighting to stay up I want us to be assuming that Annan and Stirling have those 3 points locked in. Any slip up would be a massive bonus obviously but it needs to be seen as that.

If we are relying on other sides slipping up to that extent then we really are in trouble.

Yep, not for a moment suggesting we should remotely be relying on this. Just making the point that it wouldn't be the major shock that some are suggesting if one of Annan or Stirling don't beat Edinburgh.

you are right - tickets don't seem to be on sale......

there's no match preview with all the info up on the site yet either which usually happens at some point midweek.

only the falkirk games have been all ticket in the league. you'll have no difficulty paying on the day but i think it's cash only in the away stand.

    Thanks for this.
Our website had match info up which presumably came from Stirling.

Happy enough to pay on the day but would prefer on-line option. I’ll keep a watch for further details

Well with Reilly starting for the first time in a few weeks as well as having the cheek to score and Gibson having the audacity to come on and change the game yesterday with his deliveries I'd expect them both to warm the bench.

Some sort of 4-5-1 formation incoming from our master tactical genius.

I expect that Reilly and Gibson will both start next week.

  11. For all tne negativity around Scheffler he’s a fantastic golfer
Aberg confirms he’s an outstanding player. He’s fearless and he can go on to be an absolute superstar.

What manager would take the rest of leaving out one of your best players for such a crucial game fair enough if it was a serious issue but it can't be with Connelly back in training on Monday .

I’m absolutely no fan of Bartley but you’re just guessing as to what any issue was.

Expected Kelty to stay up a couple of weeks ago they have a few players that i would actually take at Accies so no surprise there. Even though QOTS look a bit more comfortable now I've still got this feeling they'll finish 9th I can see Stirling beating them at Forthbank next week with Annan beating Edinburgh comfortably which will make things more interesting.

Stirling have Edinburgh the week after which I think they'll pick up another 3 points, QOTS have Cove I could see that being a draw and Annan will lose to Falkirk

Going into the last day it's likely that Montrose will still be playing for something so I do think they'll beat QOTS and Annan will beat Stirling meaning it will end

    7th Annan 40P

    8th Stirling 40P

    9th QOTS 38P

Every QOS fan will recognise the potential for that run of results but be interesting to see what odds the bookies would give on that happening.
