Mendy was fine in the centre but as soon as you play him in a wide position he gets exposed. Good effort from Alloa after a reckless challenge resulting in a deserved red where although Niang got some of the ball it was clearly a tackle of excessive force. The introduction of Cawley made a huge difference. Unlucky not to get something from the game.

In the world of one year contracts I can see that the incumbent manager is looking as far as possible for players with a bit of experience and age wise ideally 20 plus. Within this structure I question if it is worthwhile, other than to wave the community club flag, running a youth/reserve team as I can’t recall much impact from anyone from that source in the 9 years I have been supporting the club.

I thought Boyd and Scougall as the two wide men looked lively but when you have a lumbering but towering centre surely it would be better to have them positioned so they are going for the byline and producing crosses rather than cutting inside on their stronger foot.

I think in my first season watching, c. 10 years ago league cup games, which were straight knock-out ties were included but not thereafter. As discussed in previous close seasons it’s not altogether the fact that it’s paid admission only but instead the price point. I recall the Supporters Club approaching the club asking for them to consider tiered pricing, but to no avail. I guess it’s extra sensitive this time around but if it is full price admission the stance taken by the club will be hardly surprising.

Yea I recall Printer suggesting a pay per play deal! It was a valid point though. I think how we learned to deal with what was a chronic injury was first rate, basically if there was a twinge miss a game and come back the following week fit.
