  1. I know we all have our different views n that, but can we all agree that Sven Sprangler is a precious angel and needs to be protected at all costs?
  2. Smith certainly had an excellent game and looks like he could be useful in the midfield and McGowan made a huge difference at right back too. Some green shots there and hopefully something for the new manager to work with. Having Kane and Clark fit is absolutely huge for us. They get us up the pitch and occupy defenders better than anyone else we have. Clark grabs the headlines but Chris Kane constantly winning fouls and dragging us up the pitch was poetry in motion.
  3. Levein wouldn't be my first choice (that will always be Thomas Wright, king of Perthshire) but he's pretty much the exact profile of manager that interview Harris gave intimated. I think he could be decent to be honest but would need time and backing in January/next summer as he's not got a lot of quality to work with.
  4. Murray is onto a good thing at Raith. He'd be mental to come to us from there given the state we're in
  5. Absolutely the correct decision. Hopefully now we can move on and in the fullness of time both Maclean and Craig will be remembered as the legends they are and not for being put in a totally impossible position. I'd be losing all my dignity begging Wright to come back at this point. If it's true Martindale is operating without a contract at Livi then that's worth exploring too. Absolute no to Billy Dodds
  6. Sacking Davidson was absolutely the right decision, taken far too late. Hiring his assistant was both lazy and a disaster waiting to happen, only compounded by giving him a three year contract. Absolutely crazy.
  7. If Costelloe thinks he's better than us he's done absolutely nothing to show it. If he doesn't want to be here, let him go back to Burnley. Not the type we need in a scrap.
  8. Can we get this back on topic please? Dundee fans are so obsessed with St Johnstone FC and it's taking away from the point at hand. Choo choo
  9. Correct. Against the better judgment and advice of everyone bar the one buffoon who had the ultimate say.
  10. Must admit, I don't really get the Macpherson thing either.
  11. If we've managed to stand still after a £1.5m cut in the budget, that says an awful lot about how awful a job Flax, Davidson, Brown and whoever else was involved in the squad managed last year. At least we're competing. I'm still not convinced we have anywhere near enough to stay up and the longer we go without a win the more pressure will build, but it's certainly looking better than it did after the league cup campaign.
  12. Felt an awful lot of resignation at the game today. First half gave cause for hope but the second half really wasn't good, even before captain calamity stepped up. Gordon is needing taken out, he's obviously got a two game ban now which I think is a blessing for him and the club. I've never seen a regression quite as bad as the one he's been going through in a player in his peak and without serious injuries before. Hopefully it's a confidence thing, but the longer it goes on the more you have to concede it's probably not temporary
  13. So Clark is injured, Kane is likely injured if he's getting put down as a doubt and Jephcott is still carrying timber. We can't have May up front on his own as we know it doesn't work. Appreciate Maclean is probably frustrated that a professional footballer who hasn't had any reported injuries can't get himself fit in the 3 or so months he's been with us, but we surely have to throw him in against Livi. Jephcott and May probably won't work but May up top on his own definitely won't and there's not really anyone else who can play beside him. What a shit show
  14. Think this season has been in the post since the laurel resting summer of 2021. Not starting to sign players until mid July didn't help as it definitely reduced the available options but it just kind of feels like our time now. Given the position of strength we found ourselves in after Wright's last little recruitment flurry, it's completely unacceptable but it's where incompetence at all levels of the Football Club has brought us. Maclean showing a lot of the same red flags as Davidson now too, seems wedded to a shape, baffling selections and substitutions in game and his recruitment (albeit with what seems like both hands tied behind his back given the budget cuts and the fact he started so late) is starting to look poor now too, save the goalie and hopefully Sprangler if today is anything to go by. Having McGowan as Saints TV commentator, when he was fully fit and when we've got Brown stinking out the place at right back, looking like the latest faux pas. We so clearly need a fresh start. I can't really say I want Maclean gone because hes only just been given the job and on a long contract but going for the continuity candidate after the last 2 years was a ridiculous decision.
  15. So obvious this was coming given the size of the squad and the experience on the books, along with fees, paying off Davidson etc. chucking money at a team of grandads for a hopeless manager really coming home to roost.

  17. That's a great signing. Mostly because I like his name and he's got a lot of experience.
  18. Not even sure why they're even bothering holding league games this year tbh, be as well just handing us the trophy now.
