Ugh that's shit. Any idea when we will play the Hamilton game? I'd planned to take my cousins weans to that as a "new year" treat

Just seen the draw for the diddy Cup and they appear to have changed the dates, ties now being played Jan 10/11. So the Hamilton league game should be fine.

I put the original diddy cup dates in my phone to watch for potential league game changes. So either the website had the original dates wrong or someone has seen sense to change these games to midweek.

  2. When I was about 9 or 10 my old man took me to Somerset Park one weekend then to Ayr Rugby Club the next, both within walking distance of the house.

I quickly figured it out, told the old man I'd be going to the football on my own quite soon thereafter. My older brother's brain unfortunately never properly developed so he follows the rugby to this day and still has the unfunny rugby "bantz" to prove it.

Like, perhaps the Present Value of an annuity, which is what these 10 years tickets are, at least from an accounting POV. So, assuming a 4% rate (bog standard long term rate assumption), a £7,500 a year payment stream for 10 years ha a Present Value of, wait for it….£60,831.72…less than half the £125,000 this could generate. If you want to buy the hype about inflation, we can go to a 6% rate, and see the Present Value drop to £55,200.65.

The one downside is the loss of the delta in ticket price over the 10 year period, but with the pricing at £5,000, it seems well over the odds to be a nice net positive.

Never thought I'd see actuarial chat on P&B 🤣

  4. Nothing like a record breaking skelping in Europe to drum up customers for a new Ranjurz shop.

I was out walking in Tarbert this afternoon and bumped into a well known Sevco fan.  We were talking about his English team (Swindon Town) which is definitely true as he has the tattoos to prove it, but rather mysteriously he now claims his "big team" is Leeds United.

Reminds me of 2012 when all the local lads suddenly started wearing Arsenal, Man United and Liverpool tops for a few years and the pub bantz was strictly limited to the EPL. Can't think why.

I really like Ayr United 😁 They remind me so much of ourselves, Brilliant fans, Beautiful old school fashioned traditional ground and a superb away day, There fans again were brilliant today and me and my young daughter couldn’t stop laughing at them all in fancy dress, You lot always  bring through a great healthy crowd and atmosphere and enjoy your day, Always has been great mutual respect between the clubs especially last season when there fans  showered us in so much compliments so it’s great to see themselves doing brilliant this season, All the best for the rest of the season guys 🤩

Onto the game I honestly didn’t feel we deserved to lose as we played well and looked pretty comfortable and it certainly had a draw written all over it until the daft penalty, Just shows you how crazy this league is when again there is nothing really much between the teams, Our striker issue though continues to haunt us, We can be as creative and energetic as we like but without somebody to put it in the net we are always going to struggle unfortunately and sadly it’s such a far cry from last season when we were scoring for fun 🇱🇻⚽

Arbroath lads in the pub after the game buying us jagerbombs  and having a right carry on with us, superb. There's definitely a mutual respect based on what you did trying to catch Killie last season and what we are doing recently.
