  1. Used to be pretty good on here - a forum to discuss and debate a level of ‘football’ many of us have been brought up with and love. Unfortunately (IMHO) it has increasingly become a chat room for sad righteous and conceited politico’s. I’m sure I can survive without it - I’m out
  2. The pyramid rehash was undoubtedly going to take time for levels to sort themselves out. The WOSFL divisions all seem to have worked ok and gradually working out, although you could argue that little has changed for many apart from the introduction of some strange new cup tournaments. The Premier Division in particular seems to have become more competitive evidenced by match results harder to forecast. Pluses seen are a general commitment to upgrade facilities and become a bit more professional by the clubs who can afford to do so. The negatives that loom up almost unanimously in talking to fans at our level are the is the loss of a much loved Scottish Cup tournament for our level and for those in the top division the total lack of enthusiasm over the prospect of ‘going up’ to play in the Lowland League. I’m sure some will have other views but those two points have been the clear negatives I have consistently heard
  3. Nice big bloke but unless there are two of them he’s just no very good at fitba
  4. Typical comment from a supporter of would be / never really have been Clydebank who continue to think they are something but everybody else thinks are really pretty pathetic.
  5. Dead rubber today at Darvel but an entertaining game nonetheless. Very intriguing as to what next season will hold for Darvel following a really bizarre season, however the ground improvements and facilities can’t fail to impress and are a great legacy for the future
  6. Was going to raise the same question re this Saturday’s game. i’m not up on what was all behind the ticket situ arising but no way will the Darvel ground be remotely near capacity. Beith would probably have their usual numbers & a good few of them are older fans who wouldn't get a concession admission so they might not even bother as League now done. Wouldn't think any ‘waverers’ from anywhere would go through the bother of the on line rigmarole. You have to think Darvel will be the losers here, albeit probably not a fortune, if they persist. Could a Darvel person in the know please advise
  7. Beith have surely shown everyone how it’s possible to win a league, after scrambling to stay up the previous season, and having an indifferent start to to the campaign. ‘Leicester City’ seasons can be achieved via some astute singings, cultivating a great team spirit & all the stars aligning. Beith is a small town, with a small budget by comparisons to most of their opponents but they have won the day. Well done Beith & management team
  8. Think I’ll hang on to see if The Hankies slip out to 187/100
  9. Wonderful that’s the focus for you after 90 minutes
  10. Officials hardly ever give Talbot a penalty at Beechwood
  11. East winner will go through without playing anyone & have all those potentially mouthwatering games to look forward to in front of big crowds
  12. To be viewed as ‘well drilled’ must be the target then for any wannabe side’s aspirations?
  13. Good post match chat has steadily fallen right off a cliff on this site in case anyone who now bothers to look hasn't noticed. I’m happy to be classed as an oldie Junior man, enjoyed the banter on here & contributed occasionally. I haven't really come to grips with the pyramid thingy & kinda accept that it could well take a few years to settle in. However I sadly morn the demise of much of the traditional old west leagues rivalry & the annual excitement of ‘The Junior Cup’ Im sure I will be labelled as as a dinosaur but so be-it it just how I feel
  14. Can see something from all comments. IMHO a pretty scrappy game overall on a bumpy surface that embarrassed players from both sides at times. Fairly even opening period then Beith scored and dominated for spell and missed couple of good chances. Ref did blunder badly when didn’t pull play back when clearly no advantage gained for Beith when breaking clear & possible red card. Glens improved in 2nd half and pressure resulted in equaliser. Beith did score what turned out to be the winner slightly against run of play but saw out remainder fairly comfortably.
  15. Beith have given themselves a chance to win this league through ability and hard graft, much to the annoyance of the couple of would-be ‘elite’ sides. Debate will no doubt continue as to whether ‘stepping up’ would be desirable or sensible for clubs. Lots of outcomes from the pyramid rejig are going to be in the air for some seasons to come with licensing demands etc so should we not just accept it as the contest it is where a club will finish top because they will be the best in the competition?
  16. how things have changed re interest on this website
  17. Cambuslang were apparently missing some players on Saturday for whatever reasons. Despite being well beaten credit to them for not resorting to being overly physical and a few young looking players performed very well. Could a reason for all not being well be the return of the infamous former coach who appeared to be involved in things from behind the dugout?
