  1. Even if we accept that those prices are not a great surprise given the place is about 50 yards away from the Old Course clubhouse, maybe more shocking was that after having a drink in another couple of establishments in the town centre, our round (pint + wine) was within £1.50 of that each time. Overall for our afternoon out, we would've spent about the same if we'd got off the bus in St Andrews and immediately got a £40 taxi to Spoons in Dundee for the same drinks.
  2. Aye, I highlighted that as it's what i had and was particularly seething about. Outrageous across the board.
  3. This guy has been 'exposing the truth' about flight MH370 for a few months now and it keeps popping up on twitter. Apparently the plane was teleported mid-flight using secret US and possibly extra-terrestrial technology, and taken to the Diego Garcia spy base in the Indian ocean. The videos used to back up this theory could have been made anywhere, but the story goes the whistleblower who released them has been jailed for 9 years for espionage. Not sure if this part is true. I once got on a plane in Berlin after a stag do and immediately woke up just as we were landing in Glasgow. I reckon the same technology was used.
  4. 4 means the cafeteria is out of burgers, 5 means last orders at the bar, and 6 means the captain got his nat king last night? I'm not sure why they can't just have a separate emergency alarm and save everyone a few vital seconds they could be using to run around in a panic looking for life jackets.
  5. On Calmac ferries, the safety announcement informs that the emergency signal consists of 'seven or more short blasts on the ship's whistle'. Why 7? Why not, oh I dunno, one? Everyone will be counting through 4, 5 and 6 while the vessel could be keeling over. Or we could be engulfed in fire but most passengers are pretty sure they only heard 6 blasts on the whistle so continue with whatever they're doing, unworried.
  6. How would you explain the stack of National Geographics by the daffodils?
  7. Watching this on Fire stick while away with work, and I can't work out how to turn subtitles off. Debrowski is being called "The Brovski".
  8. Sitting in the 'quiet' lounge on a ferry, and the quiet is punctuated every few seconds by various people coughing their guts up. I'm much more aware of this these days. Not sure if it's just me getting older and more easily irritated, but aside from that, it doesn't sound healthy and if it were me I'd be concerned. It's entirely young men in their 20s & 30s.
  9. You could be onto something. Dogecoin was originally created as a joke and was given out like P&B greenies on Reddit. It's now worth $25 billion.
  10. Fletch's over-pronunciation of player names is a PTTGOYN for me. Mack Tominay, Cassie Miro and Ally Handro Garnacho are grinding my gears.
  11. I started watching this just after the goal and Man U have been atrocious. Not sure they've put more than 2 passes together a single time.
  12. Maybe it was the mains powered model.
  13. At least they can't be accused of discriminating.
  14. I thought my wife was the only weirdo who has an issue with odd numbers. Annoyingly, 11 is often the ideal volume, but she insists on 12 which is just too loud for me
  15. Today's biggest gain in the crypto space belongs to 'dogwifhat', with a market cap of just under 2 billion dollars. Dogwifhat is a cryptocurrency, the logo of which depicts a dog wearing a hat. My research leads me to believe that there is no other coin currently offering this, making it scarce. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to buy at this price before it goes up, or down, from here. Personally I will be calling my family office broker to instruct a sizeable investment.
  16. That was Lauren Boebert, probably the 2nd most insane one after MTG.
  17. Warmongering witch Victoria Nuland has resigned. Amazingly, the hilarious statement from the State Dept praises her "leadership" in such models of stability and prosperity as *checks notes* the Sahel, Haiti, Ukraine and the Middle East. https://www.state.gov/on-the-retirement-of-under-secretary-of-state-for-political-affairs-victoria-nuland/
  18. Years ago I was working up near Gairloch and staying in a local hotel. I had a couple of pints after dinner and the lass behind the bar was lovely and very chatty. As a happily soon to be married young man, despite the temptation to stay I went back to my room before I had more drinks and made a tit of myself. A wee while later there was at a knock at my door and it was her. My heart just about burst out my chest, then she informed me I'd paid with a fake 20 This is when I realised life isn't like the movies.
  19. This will obviously come to nothing, and Australia is far from the worst offender, but this should be applied across the board to all of Israel's backers even if only so they have an ICC referral for complicity in genocide on their CV. https://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/anthony-albanese-dismisses-icc-war-crimes-allegations-experts-weigh-in-on-the-claims/xu4kueiql
  20. I have no idea who someone called Sydney Sweeney is, but in the last few days Twitter/X is absolutely determined to convince me that she's very important and that I need to pay attention to everything she says & does. Literally every 4th or 5th post is her. Presumably there's some kind of 'show man boobs, man click on ads' algorithm going on.
  21. The man's a twat but this is pretty funny.
  22. Thistle fans fearing a horsing and Raith slipping up last night to give us an opportunity to go clear pretty much ensures you can help yourself to some free money betting on a home win here.
