Giving that the SJFA are taking the lion share of the money, I would guarantee they'll have people watching the gates. I don't see there being a crowd of 3500 at Beechwood, I do however think 1200 at recreation could be a sell out.

I am sure the fans that haven't been seen since the Falkirk game will be out in force right enough.

It looks like we have the full stand behind the goals then all the way round to their main stand, I don't think we can grumble at that. The other good thing about Beechwood is you are right on top of the play, it isn't like our cemetery end where you need 20/20 vision to see the goals. If they are giving us the areas they said we are getting then I am more than happy with that. I know I typically stand near the away dug out however we are getting a good area to take.

I noticed before the Hurlford game social club was members only, never seen anything on their page for cumnock game, unsure if we get access to the social club or not. I personally like grounds with a social club so would be good to use it.

We played talbot on a Monday night a few years back and there was more at that game than what was at the Aberdeen or Falkirk match and it was a fantastic 2-2 draw , no need for tickets for them at all , in fact I’d be encouraging them to turn up in their hundreds

Last season's semi final (one-off match at a neutral venue) wasn't all ticket.

Glencairn didn't sell any tickets for the match, all of our supporters paid at the gate.

When we got to the semi final in 2013 v Auchinleck Talbot it was 2 legs then as well, but again it was pay at the gate for both legs.

Yes it’s nonsense being all ticket

Does that mean that JG saved the club by throwing his money away to keep it going at that time knowing it would be wasted if no income? Take my hat off tor he guy for that,

100% and he has done a lot of good at the club which I’ve mentioned countless times on here , but I spoke to a lot of investors who wanted to put money into the club when things were looking up and they all would have but they all Rightly so wanted a say in how the club was run , when I said that wouldn’t happen none of them invested , that tells its own story

Fair enough. But if you were that worried about the club why say no to the offer to take the keys and take over when offered to you for nothing?

as long as the gates stay open I’m happy but can you not do something more official and put something official in like in a house purchase offer to JG. I’m sure he would appreciate some money back and the fans would appreciate money coming in?

Covid and it was obvious no crowds would be allowed in for a long while and I knew the wages being paid and there was no way I was throwing money away as much as I love the club , John doesn’t own the club so he can’t sell it but if he sees a better opportunity than he thinks we could provide that’s fair enough , let’s see how it pans out

I get that but it’s not tits up if everything getting paid and to be run tighter. I have no problem with that. But glad you can see that in the players the same as me.

You will have seen before that I try and stick to what I can see myself and rumours just get everyone into bother but the one that keeps getting banded about is that JG handed you the keys and said it was yours to put money into and you said no. I was only a semi-youngster at that point. Might be true might not be true but would the way to call his bluff be to go to him now if leaving anyway and says here’s £x amount I’ll take it off your hands if you feel you could run it better?

if you have plenty of money to go in I’m sure the fans would agree surely?

Mate that’s exactly what happened and I won’t go into things publicly on why It happened , he knows and so do I , now since then I’ve not spoken one word to him but when the statement  went out about the club in bother I messaged him to say I would help out with other guys who wanted to invest in the club and as I say it was a substantial figure and I never got a reply

Not sure how things have went tits up financially? Tighter maybe yes, not tits up, as no fire sales and as I keep saying to the ever changing personalities that is rhubarb, lights are on, players are playing, ovens are still on, plenty of drink behind the bar, back room team still there, and they are still progressing. I don’t care what anyone says, if a player isn’t getting paid he won’t burst a gut and I just don’t see it. I see everyone pulling together on the park and as a former (but really bad) player I know from experience that you can tell instantly if a player is pissed about something with their body language. I’m presuming that the wages are the main thing so if they are getting paid then where’s the disaster?

Can’t see anything going tits up unless you know otherwise?

Well the plug has been pulled from jg so that’s a massive hole in budget and I agree the players must be getting paid as no one has downed tools

Wylie a the famous lottery wull be back. Mark my words.

No he won’t mate , when things went tits up this season financially I along with plenty others would have put plenty and I mean plenty into the club , gall never even answered which is fine so that ship has sailed , the committee can now come up with ideas that can keep darvel amongst the top 6 teams in the country , this isn’t a project for 1 person it needs plenty being involved and everybody in it together in my opinion

If fans came out in their numbers every game then that would help financially. My point is fans that turn up to big games like die hards and havent seen a game or hardly seen a game all season.

I get your point but once you get the fans down the club needs to do more to try and keep them, an example when we started the lottery we gave people who came to the games discount to get in but this season that stopped without an announcement when the money issues started , now I get it’s only £2 per game more but tell the fans about it , don’t just announce good news and another for me that sticks out is play games on the Friday night , no worth having floodlights if ur no going to use them and I reckon we could get 150 more playing on the Friday night , on the other side I don’t know the cost of the lights for a 2 hour spell so that needs to be taken into account 🤷‍♂️

  9. I would say that’s the draw I wanted , be some tie to see who plays the burgh in final , I feel for arthurlie as in a one off they would have a chance against the other 3 teams , two legs gives the favourites a massive advantage as they can play bad once unlikely twice

Super goal for Darvels first. Quite comfy result after 90 mins lochee bit disappointing but what a header in first half that was disallowed rite tight decision

Was a deserved win in the end but prob went in up 1-0 against the run of play first half , as u Said it was a very close offside call and then big Andy had a great save off his own error but second half only one team in it and third goal was a thing of beauty as was symies
