You’re contradicting yourself. Why is he signing players from league 1&2 if they aren’t up to it? Was that the plan for the rebuild from last season? How are you going to get rid of these players? Darvel signed good junior players and they have been benched, loaned out etc ( or in Symes case loaned for a couple of weeks) are Darvel an attractive prospect for players? All he has achieved is blowing a load of cash. The league isn’t over yet, but the players haven’t given him 90 mins since the Aberdeen game.

Syme seemed to be playing for Darvel today according to the team lines. Don’t know what the story is there.

Pretty shocking if they have been allowed to pull out with no penalty. Five days ago The Buffs were advertising for hospitality at the game. I have no doubt that the game would have drawn a big crowd and it looks as if very much it’s The Buffs who are being penalised financially. Every year the season runs on until June and ultimately this game was for a chance to win what was considered to be a major trophy. What difference does the possibility of playing two additional games make to Darvel with a week between the games. I remember in 1999 The Buffs had to play about 5 games in 7 days with the last league game against Auchinleck being played on a Friday night the day after Buffs had played in a cup final. Players wanted to play for the chance to win things.

All quite bizarre. It’s not exactly news that he is going elsewhere. Buffs provide a reason why he isn’t playing, which nobody really bothers about, and he decides to take offence accusing people of jealousy. I am sure he will be able to clear the matter up, by explaining why he wasn’t playing, and what his half of the story is. Wish the boy well wherever he ends up.

Maybe McGowan wants to enlighten everyone as to the reason why he didn’t want to play. All he has done is invite a pile on from the usual Darvel mouthpieces. The fact the manager chooses to get involved shows a lot of class. Ultimately the Buffs gave these boys a platform to move on to what they perceive to be better things, however far better players have played for and left The Buffs, and ultimately would they ever be in The Buffs best XI!

Was he mid to late 90’s? If it’s the one I am thinking of could strike a ball beautifully, bit of class about him. Remember him from a couple of games against the Buffs, then seemed to disappear.

Whenever the season starts, have a play off between Buffs and Pollok, with the winner playing Auchinleck for a place in the cup. Surely if it’s a title they don’t want they would be up for that.

Well done Buffs! Well done Carlo Monti, at least you made certain Pollok fans eat their words from the last game “......Monti has run out of tricks and as we saw many years ago doesn’t perform in big games.”

I am still waiting for you to tell me what happened, you were obviously there. I thought you were maybe too busy assisting with the development of the youth academy, or reading up on your teams history. He won’t be going to Ayr, why would he want to take a backward step. However it’s a compliment that any junior manager gets quoted for a senior job.

Setting me straight levels of success, what does that even mean? Is that like the successful development of the youth academy that you got called out on? What did they witness? I wasn’t at the game, I take it you were though given your current obsession with Kilwinning? I can’t really comment on something I didn’t see, but when I find out what happened, I will make sure you are the first to know my excuses.

You are no different to Kilwinning and any other junior team trying to make a go of it. You are not far more successful, it’s you that said it doesn’t matter when trophies are won, as long as they have been won, Kilwinning have won plenty in their history, probably about the same amount of league titles, as have numerous other junior teams. You said the only teams comparable to you are Talbot and Linlithgow, there are plenty of teams with a history and success as good if not greater than yours. I think Cambuslang for example were named junior team of the 20th century. The Meadow have won the West more than you and have a comparable Scottish Cup record. There will be loads of teams that have won more than you. Pollok also had a hard time a few years ago, but managed to get sorted, so you should know the hard work and commitment that takes. Success for some junior teams these days is just keeping going. You made a comment which came across as arrogant, and have continued to try and back it up. Yeah Pollok are a successful team, and in all honesty should probably have been more successful given their catchment area, but as I said you are not far more successful.

It’s about being arrogant and ignorant, nobody denied Pollok deserved to win at the weekend, but I would hardly say you were a far more successful club. Moreover you just seem to have erased the likes of Cambuslang, Petershill, Irvine Meadow and countless others who have been arguably more successful over their history than your lot- as you say it doesn’t matter when the trophies were won! Again you are only backing up what you think you are, compared to what you really are. Out the trophies you mentioned, how may have you won in the last 10 years? One? Hardly dominating the junior game!

Yeah Buffs have won them all. As have many other junior teams. For the first 70 years of their history Pollok are described as being one of many average clubs in junior football in Glasgow! You are only confirming what the original poster said about what you think you are. A couple of period of success since the 80’s doesn’t put you in the same class as other teams. It wasn’t too long ago Pollok were being relegated and having all sorts of issues. Show a bit of humility.

For me it’s where my dad took me to see my first game of football, and where I stood at the same spot with him watching games for the next 40 years. He’s no longer here but I still stand at the same spot and that’s what I will miss. Sure a few will have the same sort of memories and I will go for one final time next week. Always remember a game, must of been late 80’s, Buffs v Meadow I think between Xmas and new year, pouring rain, end to end stuff with Buffs winning 5-4.

What music are you referring to? Can’t remember hearing anything contentious played.
