  1. In the fridge aisle, filled doughnuts in various flavours (eton mess, lemon meringue pie, etc). £5 for 2.
  2. I look very much like my grandfather. When he was my age - but he was thinner than me.
  3. No photo but try M&S filled wingnuts. Heaven.
  4. Whatever you do, don't reveal the make of your new car to the P&B masses. I speak from recent experience!
  5. I remember seeing Bob Monkhouse tell this story. Another one was that a guy was doing the aiming (left a bit..right a bit) and was miles off target. Bob stopped and asked the guy what he could see. Nothing, was the answer, as his TV had been repossessed the week before. He was just firing blind.
  6. She lasted 2 days. Rick Berman went to sack her as she was just terrible, but before he said anything, she quit. Anyway, here is how much they got.
  7. All right, another nomination. the most successful solo artist in the Hot 100 chart history (according to Billboard) Most successful dance club artist of all time Most number ones for a female artist in 6 countries, including the UK The only woman to have sold out concerts to over 100,000 people twice Outside of music, an author and actress
  8. This is kind of the point I make about the Beatles. Somehow it got attached to the narrative that they transformed music, that everything that came after them was because of them. Nothing like good PR! Beatles were basically the Take That of the 60s.
  9. Alright, fannybaws. Lets choose Queen. Released 73 singles to the Beatles 63 Greatest hits spent 1405 weeks in the chart, a record Had the first single to reach no. 1 twice (Bohemian Rhapsody in 1975 and 1991) First rock band in the songwriters hall of fame First music video banned by MTV (I want to break free) Most streamed 20th century song Bo Rap got over a billion views on YouTube Oscar winning movie biopic Long running musical show using their music
  10. The Ionian Mission by Patrick O'Brian. Best series I have read in years. Individual books are kind of meaningless, just a massive story.
  11. Lawrence Stroll will pay anything for him. He wants to build the F1 version of the Galacticos...and his kid.
  12. Mental remembering this. I was at a meeting literally across the road. Left and went home, zero drama, and watching the news at night realising how near I was, and the fact that if I had left my meeting later I might have seen some emergency services. If i remember right he was imbibing bullets just as I was getting set to go. Tldr, I fled the scene of a murder and the five-oh never caught up with me.
  13. Jack Ruby's lawyer Melvin Belli was in Star Trek
  14. Basketball hall of famer James Worthy was in Star Trek the Next Generation.
  15. Used to do a bit of work there. I was across the road when a guy was shot dead at the Asda.
  16. Malta was horrendous. I once stopped at a busy roundabout and the cars behind me started beeping. In Malta you just dive in and expect others to make space. In the UK, Welsh drivers are the worst.
  17. In 3,026 years, life will either be really good or really bad. It's 5050.
  18. Can we hold similar votes about the mods?
  19. Picked up the death trap now. Said a sad farewell to my faithful Duster. Anyway, it's a Crossland SE. 11,000 miles. The old boy (I'm assuming he is old based on mileage) who had it before me seems to have taken it to Evans Halshaw in Falkirk for an annual service, and they fleeced him every time. After one year he had done less than 6,000 miles and they got him to change all 4 tyres.
  20. We were Mr, Mrs, Miss [name]. When I was in 6th year I went to the pub in Alloa, clearly only 17 but tall so got away with it. Bumped into my old history teacher and spent the night calling him David. he never grassed me up. My older siblings often drank with him too. He is buried near my uncle - I always say hello when at the cemetery. Wouldn't do that for "Sir".
  21. I'll keep you all apprised as to the moment when the car falls to pieces and I am left crying into my Bishop's Finger.
