  1. Which is one reason that the SPFL couldn’t restart season 2019/20 on 1st August or even later. They couldn’t take the chance that the season would finish too late for Scottish clubs to be in European competitions.
  2. The SPFL have called the league seasons. The SFA have said that they will do everything to finish the Scottish Cup. Makes perfect sense to me. Who cares if it’s different players, it’s the clubs that are in the semi finals.
  3. Not sure what agenda I have, but you have said that you feel that the remaining League games should have been played. This would have meant that no Premiership clubs would have received their final league placing payment. And, as the government have said that no matches can be played before 1st August at the earliest, that would also have meant that Scotland would not have been able to nominate their European competition representatives for next season. So, without putting any words into your mouth, would you have accepted that?
  4. Maybe I did, I can’t remember what I posted yesterday, never mind before then.
  5. To save Bennett from posting any more shite , here is his take on things. All games should have been played no matter what, at any date in the future no matter when. The absolute earliest that these games from last season could have started, under government regulations, would have been 1st August but that date is not guaranteed. If the matches had started on 1st August then Bennett would presumably be happy that Scotland would not have been able to put forward any teams for next season’s European competitions. Bennett also doesn’t think that three Scottish Cup matches can be played at any time, even though there are absolutely no date restrictions on this competition being completed, so could even be played after the start of next season’s competition.
  6. It was agreed weeks ago that matches can be shown at 3.00 on a Saturday during this crisis.
  7. A few things here. “The games could easily have been played” - on what universe? ”one team had to have their way” - I presume that you’re referring to Motherwell cheating their way to third. (third with an asterisk forever) One team that are obviously happy that the season was called early is Rangers, due to the fact that they only ended up 13 points behind Celtic rather the totally embarrassing 20 odd that it would have been if the games had all been played.
  8. They put both Panathanaikos and Fiorentina out of the tournament before beating Celtic ...not bad for a works team If you check out the YouTube clip, you’ll see that it wasn’t Celtic that they beat, it was Glasgow.
  9. No idea what point you’re trying to get across here, but the Motherwell v Aberdeen match had the date changed to Friday March 13th by the SPFL on 22nd November 2019, almost 4 months before the match was due to be played. Does that fit your criteria of “short notice”?
  10. I was simply quoting figures. Aberdeen provide a helluva lot more income for Hearts than Hearts do for Aberdeen. Nothing to do with who is the bigger team.
  11. Hearts fans numbers at last ten away matches with Aberdeen; 1471, 368, 1045, 460, 1055, 780, 1168, 576, 1251, 805. Total - 8979 Aberdeen fans numbers at last 10 away matches with Hearts; 1790, 2246, 1551, 1439, 1768, 6850, 1450, 1451, 1458, 3398. Total - 23401. Who is going to miss who?
  12. You’re struggling a wee bit here. Although we were tenth and missed play off matches, not relegation, it would have been a bit difficult to finish lower than tenth in a ten team league. Any team that finishes outside the top 14 in an 18 team league where the bottom two go down, unless they are 17th or 18th, can’t be relegated. Thems the rules. Or perhaps you’re trying to be funny.
  13. Just pointing out the bleedin' obvious that a few posters on here have egg on their face. Don't for one second expect anyone to acknowledge that though. Of course, a lot of the stuff that come out of Sportsound pundits mouths is a load of shite, probably more often than not, but sometimes, just sometimes...............
  14. Now who's gullible, to think that they actually meant that literally.
  15. Explain how you feel that they were gullible when they were correct in that there was something in what was said by Budge?
  16. This may yet turn out to be absolutely nothing, who knows, but at least it might make the posters on the Sportsound thread who were taking the piss out of the guys on the programme on Saturday for suggesting the the SPFL should talk to this philanthropist to find out if there was any basis to it, think before they jump in to pour scorn on things they know nothing about. It won't, but it would be nice if it did.
  17. This, this, this. The worst football programme on TV ever. It's even worse than Keith Lemon.
