  1. It amazes me that these players bounce about from club to club without signing before the season actually starts. All fair and well holding out for a better deal but given they're not being paid, yoyd think they would make a decision before 3 weeks into the season...

Mind you, it could be that none of the clubs that have had a look at them have even offered a deal. Just not sure I'd buy that ad there's definitely some good players still without a club.

  2. Can't see us chucking silly money at Wotherspoon. An older player more susceptible to injury and on a the downward trajectory, albeit a very talented player. He's obviously holding out for more than we can afford and knocking back offers from clubs with more' money to burn' than we will have.

I'd be surprised if the protracted JD situation hasn't impacted on things a bit, but hopefully that will all be resolved very soon. No doubt the club expected it to be resolved quicker than it has been and. I reckon most of that delay would be out of their hands. But once it's eventually done, we can move on and apply more focus on recruitment again.

On that note, I'd be very surprised if we don't get some positive signing news in the next week or so.

To be fair to Airdrie, they went for it.  I’d assume the right back was just completely knackered by that point.   Also, it’s a bit lopsided if in that situation one team is scraping the bench, and the other team brings on Eamonn Brophy.

Ironically, it was our RB who was the only one in the middle with 2 of your guys. Think everyone else was drawn over to the wing and no midfielder dropped back quick enough to provide cover.

  4. Far more positives than negatives though. The fighting spirit, not giving up after going down 2 goals early on. The movement and chances we are creating. Subs making an impact off the bench etc.

If we were losing and not creating chances, being pinned in our own half, struggling for possession, I'd be worried. But that's not the case. We've more than held our own in every game we've played this season. That's just superb and promising for the season ahead.

And we will still add to the squad so should get even better...

Haud me back, a happy bench warmer just what we need,

Don't want to be over critical but do you think we are in for any of players mentioned and have we a working recruitment policy....   Doubtful is my answer to both....

I'm sorry but the mere suggestion of us not having a working recruitment policy is just ludicrous and as much 'bin fire' talk as some of the other nonsense you referred to. We've added some permanent signings and a couple of loans so far, all with potential to either start or make an impact off the bench this season. With more to come. That's a decent start IMO.

Just because we hear nothing doesn't mean nothing is happening. We've no God given right to know what's going on behind the scenes. I for one am quite happy that the ITK rumours have dried up as the vast majority of them are utter bullish!t anyway.

I have absolutely no doubt that Rhys and the club have looked at loads of players and are busy behind the scenes trying to bring in the right players. Having a smaller budget than most / all teams in this league, it's even more important that we get it right and don't rush in jobbers or buckle to unreasonable wage demands of journeymen.

To date, we've started better than any other season I can remember for a long time, with 4 wins in 5 games and a very unlucky defeat. We are playing a superb brand of football that gets fans off their seats and, in the main, is excellent to watch.

Anyone who knows me knows I'm no happy clapper, but I'm certainly happier with how the club is being run and performing than I have been in well over a decade.

I think it’s pretty clear what we need as well. I’d say we all agree that we need a left back, another wide player, ideally a more physical midfielder and a backup keeper too to avoid my heart rate doubling every time David Hutton starts getting ready to come on. Obviously actually signing these players is a lot easier said than done, and I’m sure the club are working hard to do so, but as you say, it really feels the time to push the boat out slightly for a couple of players who could make the difference (if they exist!).

Disagree on the LB. Hancock can play there and I'd say that position is well and truly Cammy's and he is absolutely smashing it. ♦️

  7. f**k it, 3-2 to Airdrie. Primarily based on hope more than logic.

We do have a good attacking threat and players who can score across the whole team. But it needs to click for them all today.

We also play a style that's excellent to watch, but not for eh faint-hearted and can lead to mistakes. Add to that Partick's clear attacking threat and it could be a goal fest.

    Or nil nil. 😂

Heard through the grapevine tonight the Justin to crystal palace transfer will be confirmed in the next couple of days and it's a very good deal for the club. Don't know numbers etc but the words were 'the club has done well'.

Not doubting what you've heard, but I've heard the same thing for a few weeks now. 😂

So think it's imminent but it's now a case of the sooner the better for all parties. And the very best of luck to him.

  9. Another tricky encounter tomorrow. They're all going to be tricky to be honest. Not sure how it'll go but would be happier if we didn't have injuries to 2 key strikers and still lacking in signings. We will no doubt play our usual game, create chances (for both teams!) and just gotta hope we take our share.

Looking forward to it but equally nervous about it. Had we taken at least a point last week I'd provably feel a bit better. Think we were definitely worth it.

  10. If any move away that makes us money is still on, then Devenny should not start or even be on the bench on Saturday. Simple as. Remove the debate by not having him in the match day squad. It's dragging gout but we are at the mercy of the process and, fingers crossed, it could bag us some very decent money which is excellent.

As for more signings, yeah it'd be amazing if they happened soon, but they will come. Of that I am sure.

Whilst I was gutted after last week's result, on reflection we played some excellent football and I am glad Rhys has confirmed that this is how he wants us to continue playing. We will have to up our game and adjust to the pace of the Championship, but I believe we are more than capable of that and look forward to seeing us stick at it. Bring on the Partick.

Patiently awaiting posts from those who have taken the opportunity to view the open training session informing us which out of contract stars are training with us tonight.

Sorry to disappoint, but there wasn't anyone I saw that I didn't recognise.

However, I said even before I arrived that I doubted the club would have any current trialists in for tonight's session, for exactly the reason that it was open to spectators and to avoid rumours, leaks of who we are looking at etc.

  12. For me, signing or not signing someone like Wotherspoon will purely cone down to budget. And I reckon he is way out of ours. Last season there was 2 leagues between us, so we will have one of the lowest budgets in the league and he's stepping down from a Premier league wage. Way to big a gap to bridge IMO.

I think we will look at investing our money into players on an upward trend as well, so we have the potential to cash in on them should the opportunity present itself further down the line.
