Yes and final league game today at Tranent ideal preparation. Proper intense game ,we played very well, couple of injury scares, that aside all good. Big thanks to Tranent, welcome and hospitality second to none. Class guard of honour and beers left in dressing room top stuff

The other big issue is being ready to play team 42, need two clear weeks before SPFL end date, then a week after that. In an ideal world those games would not exist, so 2/ 3 weeks right there. The problem is the more The Spartans etc flourish, the further away that becomes. Probably common ground there.

Exactly what the Lowland League do. Decent weather and pitches, everyone well up for new season, light nights, get ahead of the game. Even with washout last few months, still on track to finish on time. Yes a few teams , including EK playing catch up last few weeks, but that is unusual. Highland League can speak for themselves, everyone knows when the finishing line is.

Great delivery and header for the goal tonight, good to get the win but something missing in terms of energy, intensity and most importantly self belief. Might all of that have something to do with 8 game winless run, of course not, all of that is irrelevant according to the coach. Move along, nothing to see or learn from things like that. In the real world such a run would see serious questions being asked of any coach at any level. Seems a tad too self satisfied for my taste, a long contract will do that to coaches who's personal drive and standards are below par.

Sorry totally disagree. Fridays fine for Development League,when every team has agreed to play then ,but it is unfair on teams to be forced to play then to suit one team. If teams are happy to arrange games then, fine, but that is absolutely not the case here. The knock on effect on the away team for training that week, travel arrangements when players are working during the day, totally disrupts preparation. Then you have away supporters being denied their match day out, well nigh impossible travel by public transport. OK you might get some neutrals, maybe we should be more considerate of the people who come games in, games out. Of course there is such a thing as a Saturday Afternoon League, the Lowland League for example. Accept that at the top end bit less so due to TV, even then only really in Premier in England. In the UK , professional football has been played on Saturday afternoons for over a hundred years, starting with the traditional half day for most working class supporters. Time has of course moved on, things might evolve, but for now the vast majority of games are scheduled and played on Saturday afternoons. That allows people to arrange things to suit. Players, supporters, staff, volunteers, catering etc etc.

Sorry absolutely not, other teams who ground share mainly play on Saturdays, where necessary Sunday's or Friday nights. Your home games are always Friday nights, for me this is not acceptable for a Saturday afternoon league. Everyone else needs to arrange training , transport etc to suit you. Not on.

Hi Alberto, why do you define your team in terms of performance in relation to any other single team ? Your final position in the table will tell the story, like everyone else. Also I wouldn't get too smart about when games were played. Being granted every home game on a Friday night in a Saturday afternoon league, not for me.

More recently I left Hampden early because of the dross I was watching when men got gubbed by Northern Ireland , that was a poor advert for men's football, made my eyes bleed watching it, same as tonight, the issue is the standard, whether women's or men's team. Maybe " pumping in £ " an exaggeration, but recent financial support for the women's game has been significant. Great idea, just wish the results showed us going forward when clearly the opposite is self evident.

Watching game, OMG what a poor advert for women's football. Are we really pumping in £ to this dross. Comments not in any way by comparison to the men's game. There is almost nothing positive to say about what I am watching. For example lots of our players look as they have just got out of bed and are still half asleep We might never be up to the standard of top class teams, who are actually worth watching. No excuse for such a pathetic performance. Wake up.

What a shame it has come to this. This rise of the " ultras' has become a become a blight on football at large and more recently at our level. Last Saturday Tranent as a Club did everything possible before, during and after the game to make things right. That meant what happened was contained. The worry is despite all best efforts, something might get out of control. We must all stand together, Every Club has or will be faced with this issue, we have, the wee dicks can't be allowed to win.

Most teams probably have a few less I grant you. My point was today marked a seismic change in self belief. All very well having great players, having a great team is another thing entirely. We went back to the place of our abject failure earlier in season, with far from a full squad and faced up to the challenge. Tranent are a very good team, difficult place to get a result. All very well having more than our share of good or better players, today was the day this team showed real character and a will to win. We made all the hard yards, closed down the spaces, made the tackles,won almost every header and second ball, never took a backward step. Still many challenges to face, truly believe today marked the day this team came of age and will deliver.

OK here's how it happened. We have 6 registered Centre Backs. Three injured, two cup tied and one suspended. Stand in Dylan McDonald man of the match by a country mile,along with Lewis Spence best game for the team. Last time here we were overwhelmed and frankly bullied. Not today. Stood up and were counted. Silly sending off for John Robertson, the epitome of genius and quite frankly stupidity. As a squad I think today set an absolute marker, This group means business and has everything needed to get to L2. Today we grew up.
