  1. What a result. This team are actually pretty fucking good and well done Allan Hale for the transformation. Bring on the rest of the season.
  2. No relegations for Aberdeen in 120 years then 3 in one week, Warnock out.
  3. I agree a point would be a decent result, however the prospect of going 5th with a win tempts me into thinking we should maybe have a go. I think the Aberdeen game could be a big factor for them and their league form is far from impressive so for a change have a wee bit of confidence going into an away game, helped by how much stronger we look.
  4. If I was an East Fife fan I'd definitely be a bit concerned after that performance. There is a big gap and a lot of teams between yourselves and Clyde so you should be ok but you looked like a side who weren't really up for it.
  5. That's as comfortable a win for us as I've seen in a long time. We lacked a bit of quality at times in the final third but the midfield completely dominated East Fife, who admittedly offered very little, and the defence were rarely called into action. The only real chance I can remember for them was the Austin header which forced another outsanding save from McHale. Credit has to go Hale because every single player looked hungrier than their opponent which was why we were able to have such control for the majority of the game. I worried I'd maybe hyped Gallagher up too much after his first two performances and I think he is prone to trying too do much at times. Overall though, what a player. It's a very tough run of games coming up but I have a degree of confidence this team can take a few points from them. We might struggle to create much against some of the better defences but that midfield can compete with anyone at this level. A win on Tuesday and we'd be 5th...
  6. I agree Jones has looked good off the bench and may be tempted to stick with the same team again. We've got a tough run of games coming up so could really do with something out of this.
  7. Am I getting mixed up or did our winner come from the penalty/offside/goal kick/corner confusion?
  8. Forgot about Mitch Taylor! He was superb, and deserved his start after making an impact on Saturday. He's still hit or miss, but when he's on it you really wonder why he hasn't had more chances. He has the makings of a really good player. I should also add, Soapy and Cooper were two players I thought were well past their best but the latter has been better in recent weeks and I thought Soapy was good tonight.
  9. First of all, I thought that was a really decent game. I was fairly impressed with Clyde at times and don't think they're anywhere near certainities to finish bottom. We were worthy winners in the end though and if anyone was likely to score in the last 10 it was us. Plenty candidates for man of the match but Dingwall was back at his best. Some brilliant bits of play both sides of the ball. Bobby 'Jobby Bones' Jones has taken a lot of stick from opposition fans on here but he's been really useful for us. Held up the ball brilliantly tonight and ran the channels well. That's the third game in a row we've been a lot better off with him on the pitch than on the bench. The two boys from Cove look a level above. Dayshonne has his flaws but will terrorise most defenders in this league. Early days for Gallagher but I'm not sure even our best midfielders orf the last 10 years such as Reilly, Easton and prime Brian Cameron made it look as effortless as he does. Tam McHale made a brilliant save at 1-1, he's still prone to flapping at crosses but has made big saves at crucial times and kept a few scorelines from being even more embarrassing than they should've been. Another huge game on Saturday, can't wait for it now.
  10. For me Dumbarton were the better team and a 1 goal margin is probably a fair reflection, although there were more chances for both teams than the scoreline would suggest. I thought we started both halves poorly and came into them as they wore on (albeit ended the first half terribly as McHale made two good saves right before the goal). Gallagher looks a good player, a few errors but mostly a really positive debut. Dayshonne was excellent when he moved out wide, he had the Dumbarton defence on toast every time in the latter stages. I'm less convinced about him through the middle. Tuesday is an absolutely massive game now. Really need to be winning that.
  11. https://www.northern-scot.co.uk/sport/floodlight-work-completed-after-storm-isha-hits-elgin-citys-340344/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Can't read it personally but the headline would suggest so.

    Munich

I thought it was worth starting a thread to discuss things to do, places to eat/drink etc. I've got 3 full days there before heading up to Cologne. Quite a fancy a trip to the Alps one day. Other than that, got no real plans so suggestions welcome.
  13. Really pleased about MacLeman, I think he's been easily one of our best players this season. Still has plenty to work on but at 19 he should improve a lot more in the future. Gallagher also sounds like a really handy player. He was excellent on debut against Stranraer, a clear man of the match. He was less effective last time out v Forfar, albeit in a poor team performance where he was living off scraps a lot of the time.
  14. He was one of the best players in a team that nearly got promoted to the Premiership a couple of years ago. Even if he's half the player he was he'll still have something to offer.
  15. Kick off changed to 2pm due to damage to one of our floodlights in the storms.
  16. 2-1 flattered us tbh, we were poor second half. Thought the reluctance to bring on subs was really strange from Hale, the midfield were missing for much of the second half. The new signings seem to have a bit about them and with 3 home games in a row I still have some confidence we can get out of trouble a bit, but we need some results in the next few games.
  17. 7 goals and 5 assists this season and Huntly are fair singing his praises in the statement. Only 20 so hopefully gets time to develop.
  18. Looks that way. Harvey is off to Buckie permanently apparently which is a strange move. They must be chucking some of the Celtic cash about. I quite liked him but he's not featured so much recently so if we can bring in a loan who'll improve the starting 11 then great. I'm sure Harvey will bang in plenty in the HL and probably work his way back up the leagues.
  19. MacLeman was on the bench on Saturday, apparently he had a knock. I think there's a decent player in there but he needs to learn when to release the ball, too often he takes on one defender too many. If we can bring in someone with a bit more quality I won't complain.
  20. Think we have the maximum number of loans permitted, unless someone else is away.
  21. Also delighted for Liam Harvey getting the winner. Puts in a shift every week, gets played out of position a lot and usually gets minimal service when he does play up front. Always one of the first to applaud the fans. Hopefully gains some confidence from that.
  22. Vital result and always good to get a late winner. If I was a Stranraer fan I'd be pretty pissed off with that performance. I thought they has us on the ropes the first 25 mins or so, but after scoring seemed quite happy to sit in and invite pressure. It took about 35 minutes for us to get going and Dayshonne started to show the first glimpses of his talent. After that it was mostly us on the front foot, although other than Dayshonne we didn't have too much threat. He looks like a potentially big player for us. The first penalty is a difficult one but I think Stranraer will be very frustrated by it. It's good to go home happy from a game and look forward to some very winnable fixtures ahead.
  23. Disappointing as I thought he had talent but there were rumours Forres let him return early due to attitude issues so I wonder if it's a similar story.
  24. Meh, you had a good 5 or 10 minutes after the goal (an enormous deflection) in that game but otherwise didn't think Stenny offered much at all, even 11v11. I'm sure you're a good team as you're top by a bit but I've not really seen it.
