  1. I will get pelters for mentioning this. It's not a question anyone really wants to ask, but I think it every time I see how well our community work is doing. Is there any evidence this actually benefits the club? Dan's clearly v hard working, talented, and enthusiastic about the community stuff. He's also the commercial manager but that side of the club doesn't seem to be doing anywhere near as well, and I only ever hear of his work in the context of non-profit bearing activities.
  2. Funnily enough he's played four times in the English Premier League! Obviously high hopes for the boy but not worked out. Wonder if we'll bill this like that time Morton signed a player with "Champions League pedigree".
  3. Followed shortly after by an interview where he's raging that Marvin hasn't followed his instructions
  4. Scenes when Mohammad gets a Superbowl ad with Kelce.
  5. Feels like it's slipping away from the Lions
  6. soldiers in korea stood at attention
  7. Yes, but just taking the first three clubs he's scored against in that video: Chesterfield, Bromley, Wrexham. That's a slightly higher level than playing for our Reserves.
  8. Average attendance 2016/17: 1,857 Average attendance 2023/24: 874 (and falling) That level of decline is surely an existential threat. I don't know why the club isn't in crisis mode.
  9. I don't think you've pasted in whatever you intended to, but his record was 12 goals in 18 starts at National League South. That's the same level we signed Ayo Obileye or Shaun Rooney from. It's comparable to League One or lower end of Championship. Then he moved up to National League and got 4 from 10 starts. Not sure about Aldershot (NL), but at Eastbourne (NLS) he was the CF of a front three with a CAM supporting him.
  10. To be fair, he had been deadly at National League South level in England, and a fairly regular scorer in the National League as well. That should bode well for playing in SPFL League One or Championship. For example, his goal-scoring record at Aldershot Town was about three times better than Joel Nouble, who played at the same club before doing very well up here.
  11. The perceived increased number of injuries in training compared to previous seasons may, in part, be a function of having a larger squad.
  12. AC Milan v Monza What a stadium the San Siro is. Everything you'd dream of and more. Massive, imposing, industrial, gritty, steep. Atmosphere was good for a run of the mill win v mid table opposition. Sat in the Curva Sud, in the top tier, with the ultras in front of us in the middle tier. Took my fiancé, who is a black woman, and was a little nervous given what you hear about Italian football but no issues at all. Only 21 euros for a ticket and can drink pints at your seat. Brilliant.
  13. If they can do it in training then in theory they are physically able to do it. It is also not difficult stuff. Evidently the issue lies in how they perform under pressure. How you perform under pressure is clearly a component of one's overall ability as a footballer and an inability to perform in match situations may be why they are at this level. However, it is also something which can be worked on, and apparently no investigations have been made to date into their ability to improve. I therefore think it is worth looking at. Getting some psychologists in for a few hours a week for a few months is also going to be a lot cheaper than the fanciful notion that we will be able to sign 8 to 10 new players in January.
  14. If he's not gone, he should get some psychologists in, and work on the fact that under pressure and with adrenaline coursing, people will act on instinct and not remember what they had prepared. It's entry level stuff, but he seems so genuinely perplexed that what they talk about in the classroom and in training doesn't happen in competitive games.
  15. I had a feeling he'd survive gamergate but I'll be very surprised if he's not gone after that scoreline
  16. Even if we win on Saturday, it doesn't mean a corner turned. I think that can only be judged over a few games. If the gaming rant is the watershed, then whether it's had any positive impact can only really start to be judged after circa five games (helpfully, those five games include a good variety of opposition).
  17. Right you are! I don't know if that's just been added to the OS or if I just completely skipped over it earlier. Probably the latter.
  18. Looking at booking a trip back up to see friends and watch a game. We don't currently have a fixture scheduled for 17 February 2024. Are we likely to get on put in? If we were to get past St Mirren, the next round is scheduled for 10 February 2024, so it's not being held for that.
