  1. At £5 a pop to park our tractors and the price of corn shooting up its no wonder we don't bring many up.
  2. OR, rattle in a couple of early goals and gain confidence from that.
  3. Anyone know the situation with Cochrane, he seemed to twist his leg last week and went off ( didn't look in too much discomfort tbf). Hope Efe's got his alarm clock set, really need him to coach the young defence through games. Goes without saying really, a hard game against a team on a good run, bringing home a point would be OK imo.
  4. Difficult to avoid teams we've played loads of times over the years tbf, the "foreign" teams are out iirc, Premiership "B" teams I wouldn't want to meet anyway, only leaves a few from L2 possibly. At least it's a team outwith our division and at home, although a day in Arbroath would have been nice. Edit: Just noticed New Saints are still in but we've been there too.
  5. Probably not so far for Ambrose to travel this Saturday, if he sets his alarm clock right he should turn up on time.
  6. Aye, we've all seen it too many times before, get a wee run of wins going, build up a bit of confidence and hope among fans then get dragged back down to earth with a mighty bump. You'd think we would be used to that by now but it's just as disappointing with each experience. The thing is, even with our kamikaze defending, and only really turning up for about 25 minutes, we could still have stolen that game if we'd been more composed in front of goal, that would have been harsh on Montrose though.
  7. Don't think it's entirely true to say our keeper's haven't gone long several times from goal kicks, not every one has been played out from the back. When the opposition push maybe 3 up to the edge of the box it can be dodgy to play it out all the time. I get that Bartley prefers playing from the back but sometimes it's not feasible. GeneralIy think there's been too much made of the new keeper coming in as a last minute replacement, as has been said earlier, it wasn't him who let us down.
  8. So what you're saying is if Brydon and Church are fit and come back in that it won't make any difference to the defence. Doesn't seem worth changing it if that's the case.
  9. You may be itk, and like people to know it, but no need to sink to personal insults.
  10. I'm sure Marv will do what's considered best for the team, he seems the kind not be bothered by hurting players feelings.
  11. Aye, hopefully home support numbers stay up but obvs Montrose won't bring down anywhere near as many as Annan brought, plus there's not the "derby" aspect either. Be good to see numbers begin to rise again. Heads up to any Montrose travellers, temp traffic lights at Locharbriggs might cause slight delay. (10 mins maybe if you hit it at wrong time)
  12. Need to be careful Marvin doesn't show too much that he knows what he's doing or some big team will poach him before Christmas. (Sarc)
  13. Poor striker converted to defender for a couple of seasons, quite steady, was arguably the best defender in that time but that probably reflects more on the other defenders we had at the time. One of those types , ok if he re-signed but not overly fussed he didn't.
  14. Always good to have new posters sharing their views and opinions, but when you get the "They're vounteers, why don't you try it yourself if you think you can do better" comments and suchlike it's not surprising people take the hump. Keep posting, but realise not everyone will agree with your views, and that's their right to tell you.
  15. Where has this "bod" poster sprung from, seems very touchy about anything that may be construed as being critical of the Club, and definetely no sense of humour (although my sense of humour may be a bit weird tbf). If people don't like something that happens at the Club they should surely be allowed to voice it without being told to try it if you think you could do better. Has the sound of someone somehow connected to the inner circle at Palmerston.
  16. Not sure what you're prattling about on now. Do you work at being argumentative or does it come naturally.
  17. More like the Chairman singing - Moneys too tight to mention.
  18. I think people are getting a bit worked up over nothing here. I don't think Bartley is even on any list of prospective candidates. Even on the very, very slim possibility that Hibs will even consider him given his (lack of) Managerial experience, he's hopefully professional enough to concentrate on the job he is currently employed in.
  19. Have we any players on loan that specifically play in Gibson's position? Is a loan player keeping him out? Oops, MazzyStar got in first with that question.
  20. I think Hibs will want a "bigger" name and someone more experienced than Marvin Bartley or Martindale, who's in with the bricks at Livi. Couldn't really give a toss who they appoint as long as its not Marvin.
  21. Agree it's too big a jump from L1 to the Premiership for a rookie manager, no matter how much he was liked by Hibs fans or how well he does at our level or how well he speaks on the telly. Not saying he won't leave for somewhere if he does a good job here but think it's a long shot him going to Hibs. It's football though so never say never, let's just enjoy a hopefully successful time whilst he's here.
  22. Assuming it happened of course. Not sure if there's any proof been shown on video, or comments from either Club, just this Plimsole guy mentioning it. IF it did happen I'd be very disappointed in Botterill. No other Cove supporter seems to be on about it either.
