  1. Any truth to the rumour that it will only be finished on three sides?
  2. One of the problems is, like Saturday, we don't give wide players enough time to get forward before its hoofed out. The simple fact that if you keep possession the opposition has far less chance of scoring seems to be lost on a lot of players and coaches. Anyway apologies for getting you riled.
  3. Another thing that is starting to piss me off is the "tactic" at our kick-offs when the ball is played back followed by a hoof up the park and invariably into touch, result two passes and possession given away. Our kick-off at the start of the second half on Saturday was Dobbie back to Jacobs who thumped it into touch near Falkirk's goal-line. Yes it put us up well into their half but possession was lost. I have to say it's not just Queens who are guilty, I've noticed this happening even in the EPL. I don't even know what advantage this rule change has to the game. Maybe someone with a bit more tactical nous than me can explain the advantages.
  4. I think Naysmith made a mistake during the January transfer window by not bringing in more cover for the CH positions. Yesterday proved again that Dowie's and Brownlie's form is too erratic and the same applies to Higgins when he gets a chance. Who does that leave as cover or alternative, probably only Hooper who can't get a regular gig on the bench and is free move on if he finds another Club, if he hasn't done so already. We seem to be well covered in midfield and have adequate options up front, especially now that Hilson is back in the squad, but we are losing too many sloppy, avoidable goals which the defence, especially the central pairing, have played a big part.
  5. Yes, it was about as effective as his wall line up at Falkirk when Hippolyte passed the ball into a virtually unguarded net. At least Kidd had to put a slight bend on his free-kick yesterday but keeper and wall were both culpable. It's pointless pulling off great saves, which he did a couple of times yesterday, only to mess up at something quite basic. Hilson. for me, was the biggest miss when he got injured fairly early in the season, speed . Fortunately we got Dobbie in but Hilson's workrate, speed and direct play was not only effective but pleasing to watch. He's second best to Dobbie taking on opponents with the ball at his feet but he has a turn of speed that Dobbie lacks.
  6. Don't you mean can't believe it's not better. I've got a dyslexic headache, a margarine.
  7. The way I am finding it increasingly impossible to complete a task I have started. Everything goes fine for a few minutes then for no explicable reason I
  8. I believe there is another meeting being arranged by the Supporters Liaison Officer, next week I think, why don't you pop along and see if anyone there can give you some answers.
  9. Still on the AGM, but away from this fans rep discussion, there were rumours that the Chairman was contemplating stepping down soon, was anything mentioned about this on the night?
  10. And who, along with his fellow directors, is doing a fine job at present, and who are all accountable to the company shareholders, but don't let that trifling fact get in the way of having a sly dig.
  11. It sounds like your trust rep has added duties which involve him/her more in the running of certain commercial duties within your Club. I don't think that that compares to what I believe any fans rep on the Qos Board would be doing. They would simply be a go-between with the Board and some section of fans. I would guess that no two club's supporter reps operate under identical circumstances. I can't quite fathom out why certain supporters think the Directors are a law unto themselves. They are surely answerable to the shareholders. Looking from the outside I don't think our Board ard are any more secretive than those at any other Club.
  12. It was actually rumoured that he visited Stranraer prior to his trip to the moon as he wanted to prepare in a desolate place with zero atmosphere.
  13. In films, etc, when someone is being chased and they hide round a corner as the person chasing them runs past. Usually they are not hidden at all and the person chasing them always looks round about in every direction except in the direction where the person is hiding. Petty but annoying.
  14. Car drivers who clog up the entrances of petrol stations queueing for a (fuel) pump that's on right side to suit their car's filler cap. The pump hoses are long enough to reach to the other side of a normal car if you stop at the right place arseholes.
  15. Only read a couple which weren't signed. He's generous with the greenies if you mention him anyway. Good lad is Spartans Telly, Grimbo, Spartans Telly, Grimbo.
  16. I've only re-visited the General Nonsense Thread a couple of times recently. Has Grimbo re-incarnated himself as Spartans Telly? If he did it as some kind of witness protection scheme he's giving himself away by posting the usual keech, and amassing plenty of red dots.
  17. Man goes to doctor complaining about a rash covering his body. The doc examines him and says it's probably an allergic reaction to the washing powder his clothes are washed in and to give his clothes an extra cold water rinse after washing. "I can't help but notice that for a white man you have an exceptionally brown scrotum but it otherwise seems normal." At home the man tells his wife that she needs to give his clothes an extra cold water rinse. "Fuxake", she replies, "I've got five young weans to look after, this house to keep clean, a part time job to do and you want me to give your clothes an extra rinse. I've hardly got enough time to to wipe my fuckin' arse properly." "And that's another thing I want to talk to you about" said the man.
  18. Agreed that the Rangers vote was embarrassing and upset a lot of fans but it did not really have a direct impact on the actual running of the Club at the time, it only made the Chairman and Board look a bit stupid. Even if a fans rep had been in place at the time it's doubtful if our vote would have been any different.
  19. You've got Hilson on your list, is he anywhere near fit yet? Noticed he was not on crutches spectating at the Dumbarton game.
  20. I'm struggling to think of a list with plenty of contentious stuff that the Board has been responsible for. Yes, there have been a couple of issues I would list that, on the face of it, were not handled particularly well. The dealings with the so called Young Team, faults on both sides imo, signing players without a Manager in place. Skelton's hiring and eventual departure and the Interim Managers role in this. I doubt if a non-voting supporter's rep on the Board would have had much if any effect on these issues however. To be clear, I don't consider myself a "forelock tugger" just an ordinary supporter who, from the outside, considers that the current Board has achieved more "pros" than "cons" over the past few years. I won't be too upset either way if a fans rep is eventually put on the Board or not, but for some to be suggesting that it's essential as the club is being so poorly run is a poor basis for mounting the campaign. I eagerly await a list from disgruntled supporters why they think the Board are not doing a reasonable job and what difference a fans rep would or could have changed things.
  21. I am not a Trust member but have often thought it would be a good idea to join and help out the Club even in my own small way. I was of the belief that the Trust's aim was to help and promote the Club through fundraising events and any other practical ways it could. Going by recent posts it appears that this is not the case and I am a bit confused as to what the actual aims of the Trust are. Perhaps someone would be kind enough to explain the Trust's role in connection with the Club as I genuinely seem to have the wrong impression of the work it does and what it's aims are.
