  1. You must have missed the bit in the news where they told us that Yorkshire has been given to France as part of the. Brexit deal. They chose Yorkshire because of it's similarity to France, they eat strange food and you can't understand a word they say.
  2. Not really. The issue, for me, isn't really that crucial. You can still informally chat to other fans just to gauge others views though.
  3. I don't know the ins and outs of the amount taken in in draw entries compared to what the club actually pays the kit supplier. or how many sets of strips, training tops, tracksuits padded jackets, etc are included in the deal but it seems to me that there are a lot of backroom staff, administrative staff, youth players, etc going about wearing the club gear. I assume they don't have to buy it. Would reducing the number of items supplied not save a bit of money? The amount saved may not be worth bothering about but it's just a thought.
  4. The conspiracy theory was more a tongue in cheek remark but not necessarily unfounded. Taking off at a slight tangent but is there a possibility that more businesses would be attracted if the draw was for a two season period. Obviously a realistic entry fee would need to be set, not necessarily twice the amount it is now. I've thought since the inception of the shirt draw that one every season is a bit much.
  5. On the fabric conditioner/washing powder, shampoo, etc theme. How manufacturers claim that their new and improved product is now twice as good as it's predecessor. Why did you not make it better in the first place.
  6. Do you mean..but also putting extra money into the club. I doubt if having two price structures would be viable. I doubt if many businesses/individuals who enter the draw would necessarily choose to buy season tickets anyway so most would probably opt for the cheapest draw entry price. And can you imagine the conspiracy theories if the ones paying the higher price coincidentally won it most years. The free season ticket is just an extra incentive to enter the draw. I also doubt if stopping the free season tickets would really make the club much in extra ticket sales tbh. Much the same as the point I make above, there's no guarantee that the entrants would be buying a season ticket of their own accord, therefore no guarantee of extra ticket sales, a few may do, I fear the vast majority would not. At least the free ones potentially add a few numbers to the crowd.
  7. Following the death of Nelson Mandela the South African Government put forward a proposal to change the name of their main currency from the Rand to the Mandela. When a vote was taken however the result, by a small majority, was to keep the Rand. As a compromise the Government decided to mint a limited number of Nelson Mandela commemorative coins to hand out around various towns throughout the Country, but demand massively outweighed the number of coins available and there were near riots as people queued for their free Nelson Mandela.
  8. The home kit looks fine, just the right amount of white. The away kit looks like something you would purchase from Matalan. (That's a criticism of the shirt, not Matalan. Other clothes outlets are available). I'm not a great fan of grey football tops anyway. The grey shorts also look like something an old geezer would wear on the beach on holiday. I'm sure I've got a similar pair in my wardrobe. I'm not in the habit of buying replica strips and the away one isn't tempting me to change. Hopefully I am in the minority and the Club makes plenty from purchases.
  9. Just watched an episode of Pawn Stars on TV. A woman brought in a pink Fiat convertible to sell. It did my tits in as they kept pronouncing the make as Fee-yat, emphasising the end syllable. Maybe they're right and that's the correct pronunciation, but they are American so I doubt it. PS. The woman was a wid but she carried a wee rat-like dog around with her like it was a fashion accessory which is another PTTGOYN.
  10. Can't appear on here enough: Richard Madeley. Just an utterly annoying twat who pollutes everything he's on.
  11. Not a view I would say I entirely agree with but I can see why some have their doubts. Dobbie aside we seem to target journeymen players for signing and rely on better quality loanees to boost the quality. Also our recent managerial appointments probably didn't give the impression of a Club with great ambition. The introduction of the play -offs obviously increase your chances of promotion but the main stumbling block to seriously pushing for promotion comes down to finance and how.much people are prepared to invest in the Club. At the moment we are probably sitting in a league position equal to our playing budget compared to other teams, it would need greater financial backing from Directors and other outside backers to improve on this. Going up from the Championship has been difficult over the past 3 or 4 seasons given the budgets we have been competing against, maybe in the next few seasons it will be more of a level playing field and we can at least try and better our recent target of 4th place. I never thought I would see Queens play in a Scottish Cup Final at Hampden or play in European competition, It would be great to see them play in the top division even for a season.
  12. The system of calculating and marking things as a percentage is named after Dutch mathematician O. Ratio Percent. (circa 1783). Although he wasn't the first to come up with this type of calculation he greatly improved a more basic system which had been devised about 100 years earlier by Scottish Professor, Mark Soota-Hunner.
  13. We still have two games to go. Whether any directors will be there I've no idea. I don't think their presence, or lack of it, will influence the outcome of the games. Unfortunate that they are all away at the same time but hardly a major concern in my opinion and when is actually the best time for them to be away. As long as they are around during the close season when there is actually some serious business to do and decisions to be made. I'm pretty sure the Chairman at least will be keeping in touch with events at the Club. I would imagine that several decisions about player's futures will already have been made at not left until now.
  14. I was wondering how Naysmith would react if the players came out after the match and criticised the Management the way he criticises them. He picks an easy target he knows can't/won't answer back. His criticism is hardly constructive either, it's just a rant and threats about player's futures and he almost completely absolves himself of any blame.
  15. They probably watch too much Eastenders or TOWIE so they probably are simpletons.
  16. Oak trees of similar age grow exactly the identical number of leaves each year. No other species of tree does this.
  17. I hate it when they grab the knob and twist without asking first.
  18. The last known recorded words of singer Perry Como were " Shut that tape recorder off, I'm not recording any more."
  19. His loan signings were good until he started chopping and changing, whether Rankin and Mercer were is arguable. Rankin is hardly picking up many plaudits from the fans and Mercer's not even getting a game from the bench now. Maybe he's still dizzy from the runaround he got V St. Mirren.
  20. Like all new Managers, Naysmith wanted to put his stamp on the team when he came in. I believe he told certain behind-the-scenes individual(s) not to interfere in 1st team football. If true then was a positive and required start. I think however he may have upset a few in the ranks by immediately stripping the Club Captain and Assistant Captain of their positions and bringing in a new player and giving him the Captain's armband. His after-match comments also don't seem aimed at fostering good team spirit. Despite him saying after Saturday's game that he is not in the habit of publicly criticising players he had done it on several occasions. I think under Skelton there appeared to be a good spirit within the squad. That was seriously eroded under the Interim Manager as performances got worse, and Naysmith doesn't appear to have been able to restore a positive team spirit. Maybe just a feeling on my part but there seems to be factions within the squad. We'll have to wait and see who comes and who goes in the summer and maybe when he has brought more of his own men in we will see players who want to play for him.
  21. Sally Magnusson owns one-fifth share of the largest sheep farm in Western Australia.
  22. Countdown's Rachel Riley is the Patron and Honorary Lifetime President of the Corporation of Women Industrial Developers and as such is listed as Rachel Riley (Cor. WID) on their official letterhead.
  23. At the big Council Car Park in town, plenty of all day parking spaces in the morning, yet some drivers persist in parking on the access road making it single lane, and you are forced to give way to other cars when you are driving in or out. Drive another 20 yards you lazy twats and park in the proper spaces.
