  1. I'm hoping we can stay full time but understand the argument for change. IF we do go part - time it might not be a sudden jump but maybe a hybrid model to see if it's successful, the contracted players would then be able to see out their deals with maybe another few FT added. It looks a long way off happening at present but if we do get back to the Championship I would prefer it as being as full timers.
  2. Ach well, a wee break from losing league games to probably losing in the Diddy Cup instead. A chance for Marvin to experiment with personnel and tactics (ok, no change there either I suppose) in the vain hope of progressing in this money spinner of a Competition. Queens players can maybe go into this game with a bit of confidence knowing they've been working hard in training on properly defending opposition throw-ins, whereas actually practicing stopping crosses coming in or how to put in decent tackles or how to pass to teammates obviously doesn't seem to be a priority. Arbroath will be a stiff test, hard working and high tempo, I doubt they'll stand off and allow our flair players (I'm sure we must have one anyway) the time and room to strut their stuff. I actually like the Diddy Cup, minus Colts, so am hoping that Arbroath aren't taking it too seriously to give us a chance of sneaking through.
  3. Straight on to "We buy any Car. com" and get rid.
  4. Don't you know? Greenacres is the Accountant for every Club in the SPFL.
  5. We very rarely concede unstoppable worldy goals, most are simply down to defenders/midfielders just not doing the basics or not being switched on to what's going on around them. At the goal we should have done better defending out wide before the ball was played in then the scorer had acres of space and time to get his shot away. It's so predictable now. Edit to add: Taking nothing away from the Stirling players btw, they showed up our frailties.
  6. Don't really think there's much argument that you deserved the win. Glad you enjoyed the day.
  7. Not sure if this is a new way of indicating where home and away fans will be located, I thought they usually just said what Stand and Sections of the Stand they would be situated in. I can lend the person responsible for writing he infio my old orienteering compass if they want so they know which direction is which
  8. Agree with the first part, not so sure about the end part. It would be nice to see a competent, decisive display with a few goals so us supporters can relax a bit, but I doubt we are capable of overrunning any team at the moment. As long as we score one more goal than the opposition I'll be happy.
  9. McKechnie, Todd and Reilly must be slight doubts for being fit for tomorrow, also Brydon and Church have been rushed back before they're really ready so hopefully won't break down. Even if McKechnie is fit I'd rather see Gibson moved to the right and Walker starting on the left. As for Bartley's position job wise, I think we need a dose of reality, he's not been able to field his strongest team at all this season, we're just a quarter way through the season, I'd be asking questions about his future when we get to the half way stage and we're still a couple of places outside the play-off positions. Despite his coaching and playing experience we kind of knew it was a gamble taking on someone with no actual Managerial experience, I'm happy to see him given a decent amount of time to try and get us going in the right direction.
  10. Already been covered but parking at the stadium is hellish, £5 to park, cars crammed in nose to tail so no quick getaway and very slow getting on to the main road. Quicker parking a wee bit away and walking to the ground.
  11. Not too bad, at least you didn't put it on before getting in the shower. Going into a room and then thinking "what did I come in here to get?" must be about the most common senior moment I reckon.
  12. Was beginning to wonder if the thread was about a game this week or an episode of "All our Yesterday's" Tbh, I'm a bit jealous that I can't remember details of past games. Back on thread, hardly in must win territory yet, although it's getting close, we certainly need to stop the rot and soon. Home form has to improve drastically to give us a chance of climbing into play-off contention.
  13. Just like about any Manager you care to name.
  14. Couldn't care less tbqh, he's gone, we've got enough to think about with the form we're in now. I don't think it'll be entirely his fault where Morton are.
  15. Don't really get the logic in this argument. More clubs going part time, as looks possible, will mean that full time players will have to go part time so it's possibly the same player pool of players your attracting. Is there really that much of a wage gap between lower paid full time players ( like ours are probably) and the better part time players who will command better wages? Given the problem we have in attracting good full time players to come here, how can you be sure we'll attract good part timers. Some Lowland League and WoSL teams will still pay more than us anyway if we go part time which will be a better attraction for Central Belt players. A hybrid model might work but that raises more problems with maybe split training times, etc.
  16. Certainly doesn't come across that we've got any "characters" in the dressing room who can lift spirits when needed. Just need to watch them in match pre-match warm ups, looks like a chore for them with little or no inter-actions with each other. No Mikey Doyle type jokers in the pack by the looks of it.
  17. Aye, and when he gets us promoted we should bin him again cos he'd probably take us right back down within a season or two.
  18. The thing is the longer he's out of work the more chance of him considering offers further down the chain or he risks becoming the "forgotten man". Not sure if his Dumfries connections would sway him, if the money's right he might consider it. If he's waiting on a Championship opening, apart from Ayr, where I think he's liked and loathed in equal measure, what other Managers coat is on a shoogly peg. Anyway all hypothetical the noo cos we've got a man in place under contract.
  19. No problem with him keeping the players in the dressing room as long as its a two way "discussion" with the players allowed to have their say as well without fear of reprisal.
  20. Could they not have printed a picture of him in another clubs top? He's had plenty clubs, why did they have to rub it in that he was once at QoS. Seriously, yes seriously, I may be in a very low minority but I didn't think he was as bad as a lot of our fans made out. Worked hard, scored a few goals, but struggled to get game time after an injury. Doubt if many fans of his previous clubs will be overly complimentary though. Good luck to him.
  21. Hope Church doesn't turn out to be this seasons version of Chima.
  22. That's surely why we employ physios and sports scientists to advise the manager and ensure injured players train accordingly and don't rush back too soon. I think Brydon broke down in training cos we tried to rush him back. I agree tho, we do seem to pick up a high percentage of injuries in training.
  23. Kelty coming off the back of a pumping from Falkirk will be looking to restore some pride. Maybe were a bit unlucky with a couple of decisions. We don't have anywhere near the same firepower as Falkirk and Bartley has us trying to play a form of football that the players don't seem comfortable with or are maybe just not good enough to execute. We're still missing a few players through injury or are 50/50 to be available, and two of the players we expect a lot from, Connelly and Cochrane (Saturdays cracking goal aside) haven't been performing anywhere near the standard we need in midfield.. On the upside, we've ran Falkirk and Hamilton close the past two weeks before falling to sucker punch late goals, so if the players concentrate, put the effort in and cut out silly mistakes we may just take something from this game. Hoping to take in my first game at Kelty on Saturday, travelling more in hope than expectation tbh. IN MARVIN WE TRUST (but not sure for how long).
  24. Every defeat, Falkirk, surprise surprise, are of no more or less of a relevance to me than every other team we lose to. I'm a bitter person most of the time tbf, not exclusive to football.
