  1. I will go further a shithole we will not be visiting next year in our quest for promotion.
  2. Going by your argument then, no maintenance should be carried out on the pitch, isn't the close season the time to do it. ?
  3. Have to disagree with you their, the pitch was reseeded at the beginning of May, along with other work carried out on the pitch. Clearly the Club was being sensible about the request for 2 away games at the start of the Betfred Cup but the SPFL could not oblige. Hopefully the pitch will be ready on time for the Falkirk game and as I have stated above if major improvements to the pitch are to be carried out then clearly it does take time for the pitch to recover. Surely at the end of the day, the club should be praised for trying to improve the standard of pitch that was laid over 20 years ago when the ground was built.
  4. Not too bad, should do you a turn when he is fit. Okay for this level.
  5. Must be the cheapest season tickets in League 2. Works out at £6.66 per League game very good value imo. Stirling Albion charge £170 for a season ticket. which works out at £9.44 per game. Walk up price is £13. Most League 2 clubs charge £12, with the Albion and Arbroath charging £13. Annan and Elgin charged £10 for an adult last year don`t know if they are putting up the price next season. Hope they are successful in boosting the crowd at Meadowbank, might encourage neutrals to come along if say they charge say a tenner for adults.
  6. Hope not, still plenty of time yet, but the longer it goes on the less likely he is to sign on for next year.
  7. Welcome to the Big Boys League City, hope you find your feet at this level. Despite what some Albion fans say quite looking forward to visiting Meadowbank next season and hopefully coming away with the points. Enjoy your stay here and I hope you prosper. Would help us if you could take a few points off Clyde in the coming season. Hope you enjoy your visits to Forthbank and remember your not playing the Uni your playing the big boys in Stirling now. All the best.
  8. Nah want both at Forthbank especially the Falkirk game, would be nice to put one over on the Bairns at home.
  9. I agree with that, lets see how the team performs until we make any judgements after a couple of months. Its going to be a tough season ahead, with the likes of Clyde, Arbroath, Berwick and the 2 relegated teams Forfar and Cowdenbeath all trying to get out of this League one way or another.
  10. Good signing of Blair Henderson from Berwick, hope it works out for us as he has been proved a goal scorer at this level. Hopefully Mazel signs up as well and who knows next season might be more productive, I certainly hope so.
  11. So do I, pleased Ross Smith and Ross McGeachie have signed up for next season. As for Sean Dickson I can only hope he does a lot better than last season, not one of the fans favourites to be fair, but he seemed to get picked week in week out by McLaren despite having a poor season.
  12. Agree with you on this one, given the new format League Cup, could be played at one ground over the weekend before the start of this competition. Might generate a bit of interest amongst the fans of local teams.
  13. We could do with a big striker at Forthbank, hope he fills the bill.
  14. You could also play him at right back too, been used in that position for us on a number of occasions this season.
  15. Sorry but don't want David Weatherston back at Forthbank, heard Craig Molloy from Brechin is being rumoured as possible signing after being freed.
  16. I am not bothered with his behaviour at Forthbank a while back, if he joins us and performs well, I'm quite sure a lot of Albion fans would forgive him his fallout previously if he does well on the field.
  17. I agree with you regarding McGeachie, can play at Centre Back or Right Back just hope he resigns for us. Of the rest do not want Dickson back next year, Cunningham maybe if he puts his mind to it and learns to pass the ball to someone in a better position. For me Mazel is the key to the midfield, just goes about his job quietly and has the ability to pass the ball to another Albion player something one or two others need to copy. Doris for me this season has been a disappointment only 9 goals and for a striker of his ability he should be scoring more but in his defence at times he is being left alone up front and he really needs someone along side him to play off Ross Smith has been decent and I hope he resigns along with Ross Kavanagh who I think can be a good player for us given more playing time.
  18. Also Kevin McKinlay not offered a new deal.
  19. Not surprised re Buist, started well but fell away due to injuries. Bit surprised at Comrie not been offered another year, felt he was worth a new contract in the hope he finds his form after out a long time through injury. From the signings we have made, Gemmill, McKenzie and Molloy all are over 30. It would appear McLaren is going for experience over youth, just hope the young lads such as Burns, Stevenson,Davidson and Kavanagh are given the chance next season.
  20. When he first came back he did well for us but since then he has rarely featured due to injuries. Injured at East Fife with hamstring injuries and hasn't played since as far as I can remember for us and he`s still been struggling since. Shame for him hope he manages to get over it and still be able to carry on playing.
  21. Good luck with Johnston if you sign him, apart from his pace cant think of any other skill that he has that will improve you.
  22. Regarding next season and who we are resigning, personally I hope, Mazel, Ross Smith, Ross Kavanagh, Steven Doris, David Verlaque, Ross McGeachie, Kevin McKinlay, Craig Comrie, and a few of the U20`S who can make the step up like, Scott Burns, Scott Stevenson, Sam Davidson. Undecided Scott Buist (Injury prone) Craig Beattie (if he still wants to play) Hope the following get released Sean Dickson, Phil Johnston. Hopefully what we need and get for next season are a couple of strikers and more help in midfield. Heard already a couple of names being mentioned, John Gemmill from Clyde and Marc MacKenzie from Elgin as possible signings, time will tell as they say. Regarding McLaren next season, agree he`s at the last chance saloon, a bad start to the season and he will have the fans on his back again. Come Oct/Nov time if we are not in the top 4 or 5, then imo the Board will be forced to make changes. Interesting times as you say lie ahead in the next few months at Forthbank.
  23. Regarding the state of the pitch, how come Forthbank which has 2 teams playing on it is looking in much better shape than Hampden ?
  24. Was listening to the Off the Ball radio programme on BBC Scotland on Saturday regarding whether we should be using Hampden Park for internationals etc due to numerous problems with the ground, such as poor atmosphere, too far away from the pitch, location difficulty in getting to Stadium Majority of those who responded were in favour of not using Hampden for internationals. Has Hampden Park had its day and should we be thinking of moving internationals away from Hampden and move them around the country like a number of major countries do like Germany, Italy. Spain. We have 2 major grounds in Scotland for football capable of holding between 50 to 60,000 fans, not to mention Murrayfield in Edinburgh which I think holds roundabout 67,000. What are football fans views on the subject.
