It is not the club board's responsibility to hold an annual general meeting. It is the responsibility of the Trust board to hold an AGM and they are not doing it.

Well the Trust would have had an AGM had it not been for the actions of the gang of 74 involving dodgy voting by a certain member of the Club Board voting 50 times. Not to mention the attempt by the Club Board backed by its gang of 74 to remove the Trust Board without giving any reason. Which was against the Trust rules.

A statement like this from the Club  Board was just what I expected. After trying to manipulate the last poll we almost had, they want another one. They are an embarrassment to the club. They need to go.

Yes when things looked bad enough we have the Club Board out to show that things could get worst.

So they try once again to put their oar in and try to play the they did not consult with the Trust Members card. When are these people going to realise that time is up for them.

Like the comment "Whilst we have a legal responsibility of running the business affairs of the Club. we are also fans" Says it all.

So. Horsed 4-1 at Alloa. I didn’t see any trialists in the starting 11, and the club didn’t list any substitutions on Twitter.

In last 3 weeks we appear to have signed one left back from Annan and that’s it. We have 2 strikers in total. s disposal
The budget is apparently up 25% on last season yet we can’t attract players. Things aren’t looking too good. Is it going to be yet another season of pish?

Echo your thoughts entirely, given the budget DY has at disposal, clearly one the the best in this League, I would have though recruitment would not be a problem.

Lets hope things start to move quickly on the squad front before the start of the season.

  4. 1. Forfar

    2. Stenhousemuir

    3. Stirling Albion

    4. Annan Athletic

    5. Dumbarton

    6.  Bonnyrigg Rose

    7.  East Fife

    8. Elgin City

    9. Stranraer

    10. Albion Rovers

I hope that at least the Albion can make the playoffs this coming season. Anything less another wasted season.

We've got 15 players signed up, so would expect something like another 4 to come in plus maybe a couple of loans. Think we're comparatively better off for numbers at the moment than most other teams in our league.

Manager was quoted as saying he hopes to confirm 1 or 2 in the near future. Pre season starts next Thursday.

A couple of really good signings and I can see us pushing for 5th.

Still early days yet on the signing front, with the budget DY has up 15% from last year we would be looking at playoffs minimum. Anything less and its another wasted season.

Yes. As things stand it looks like we’re building a squad to challenge for 7th place again. At least this season we can finally stop getting our hopes up.

I would have thought given the budget DY has been given up 15% from last year, playoffs at the minimum would be our target this season.

    That's a huge IF.

Currently I'm in the 'better the devil you know' mindset. I don't know any of the Trust Board members (I do know who some of them are) but if the pro-Trust commentators on here are anything to go by, I'm backing the current regime.

I'm not happy with the progress on the pitch but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Something has to change but I don't think what's being proposed is the answer.

If the present Club Board hadn’t did what they did, then maybe none of this would have happened. Bottom line is the owners of the Club the Supporters Trust have had to take this action to regain control of what they own.

Correction. We're "fucked" in 3-6 months. That'll be well after the new season has started. After the present club board have completed all player registrations and required paperwork  for  a non existent interim board.  After hospitality arrangements have been set up and caterers secured for the season.  After just about every required function of competent administration has been carried out,  before they send in the clowns.

What do they want?   A coup  d'etat.

When do they want it?   Ummm....... In about 3-6 months when they've found the replacements they were required by the constitution to name when they announced they were removing the Exec.

What are they going to do for the next 3-6 months then?   Keep playing the victim and gushing about democracy, accountability and transparency.   All the while keeping the membership disenfranchised and being accountable about nothing and transparent about nothing themselves.

But...but....we're fans owned aren't we?   No we're not. We're shareholder owned.  Where a small minority of shareholders with large holdings who happen to be fans, can work within and with the Trust board to keep the second class fan membership marginalized.

But...but.....we don't want to hear about coups. We just want it all to go away.  It was never going to go away from the day Thompson got back on that board .  The idea that he ever had any intention of working in co-operation with a board he had declared he wouldn't work with 5 years ago, is utterly laughable.  Under his baleful influence it's gone where it was always intended to go.

Since the Exec won't stand up and defend itself, I don't see why I should knock my pan in trying to support them any more.  It's  my turn to sit back and munch some popcorn, while the Exec gets turned into a monkey house by a half dozen ego bruised incompetents.  You're all Jim Thompson's bairns now and God fucking help you!

Having read your post of what you predict ruin of the club within 3 to 6 months I don’t agree.

The Club Board have brought this onto themselves by in effect sticking 2 fingers up to the owners of the Club the majority shareholders the Supporters Trust.  The resulting actions by the Club Board only served to galvanised the Trust Board to take action to regain control of what they own.

Let’s hope the interim Board can stabilise this Club and if things go well on the park then I believe the actions taken are justified in the long term. We all want the Club to do well, so let’s give the interim Board a chance.

Some interesting proposals there!  I have been poring over these details looking for flaws but, apart from one, I can't detect any.

What isn't mentioned in the post above is the fact that in an email to members the Trust Board say they "have identified individuals with the skills required to ensure that the club can continue to function in the short term and also provide a base for further development".

The only potential fly in the ointment would be if the outgoing Club Board attempt to interfere with a seamless transition to the interim scenario.

Longer term, I welcome the idea of Trust members having a vote for Club Board directors, just as long as the sort of gerrymandering attempted recently by an existing Club Board member can be eliminated in the interests of true democracy.

I agree with a lot of what you say. I believe you are referring to the interim Board regarding these individuals who have the skills. Their is nothing stoping these people seeking election to the Club Board on a permanent basis subject of course to the new rules being put in place.

Yes it will be interesting to see how the current Club Board react, let’s hope some common sense prevails but don’t hold up much hope tbh.

  10. Just received an update from the Trust Board, the gist of it is listed below.

    The next steps

    1. To appoint an Interim Board

    2. To introduce proper governance procedures for the Club Board, including fixed term directorships with the Trust members having a vote in the election of Club Directors. Trust representation on the Club Board and a Club AGM. Football experience and expertise should be represented on he Club Board and non -Trust people should be invited to stand for Club Board election, to ensure the skills and attributes required to lead the club are not restricted in any way.

    3. To hold a fans workshop to discuss the future direction of the Club.

    4. To agree job descriptions for the Club Directors

    5. A Creation of a new Club Board to be delivered within 3-6 months.

    6. Development of a 5- year business plan to be reviewed annually

Further details will follow soon and Minutes of an ad-hoc Trust Board meeting are attached.

Their you have it the Trust Board has taken the decision to remove the current Club Board and replace it with an interim Board and carry out a number of things that should have been in place many years ago.

How was McNiff last season? Know mostly what we're getting as he was here before but just wondering how he looked last year.

Didn`t know McNiff was away, did okay for us scored a couple of goals but was injured and out for a spell. Should be an asset to your team next season.

You still haven't told me why Stuart Brown would call for a shareholders meeting.  Or why you said the Trust board called for the shareholder's meeting, when they've told everybody several shareholders called for it. I make that a 2-1 win to me..

We could go on at this all day WC Boggs clearly you don`t want to tell me who you were referring too in your posts despite being asked on at least 3 occasions. 😂

I have better things to do with my time in trying to get an answer to a simple question from you. Goodbye for now. no doubt we will speak again, lets hope next time you have the courage to answer a straight question with a straight answer, somehow I doubt it. 2-2 I think 😂

I  quote your own words there for all to see. "he had refused to call for a meeting of the shareholders for a number of years."  Yet again you lie about writing what you have written.  I repeat why would he call for one?  Why did you say The Trust board called for a shareholder's meeting, when they say the shareholders called for it? Are you accusing the Trust board of telling porkies?

Just don`t try and change the subject WC Boggs, you were asked a straight question to name the person you were referring to in previous posts and you have refused to do so. Fact, clearly you don`t want to or unable to name the person concerned. How very brave of you.

Considering evasion is your speciality I find that hilarious.

"Considering evasion is your speciality I find that hilarious" I think you want to look at your previous posts WC Boggs before pointing the finger at me. I have asked you on 2 occasions to name the person to whom you were referring to in your posts and you have refused to do so. Says it all doesn`t it. 😂
