  1. Wasn’t really sure how we would cope today given how many games we’ve played recently but we pretty much controlled that game from start to finish. We got a bit leggy in the end but that’s to be expected and hopefully the knocks picked up today clear up for the remaining fixtures.  I think now we have a bit of cushion is would be great to go on and grab 3rd, it’s about an extra 90k at least which would be very welcome to our great accumulation of prize money for the season. Whatever happens though you just know that they’ll leave everything out there so let’s believe and dare to dream.

As a side note that was a really impressive effort from the pars fans today so well done for that. There seemed to be some audible groans at points in the second half due to some perceived slow build up play but I think our press was excellent yet again. How are you guys feeling with McPake? It seems like his teams try to be hard to beat rather than more on the front foot which could be really frustrating to watch week after week.

If we make the playoffs we are the outsiders for a reason and a I accept that. On paper we have the weakest squad, lowest budget, likely lowest place team of the 4. It is unlikely we go up if finishing in the playoffs.

This idea however that we are just making up the numbers, have absolute no chance at all, premier teams will turn us over, we peaked too early. All just seems a mixture of jealousy of our season and complete lack of respect for what we have produce on the park this season.

We play some of the best football in the division, have the second best defence in the league, we have beaten Partick twice (that’s no disrespect to them), our record against Raith is unbelievable, won at Tannadice, challenge cup winners, beat Dundee and took County to extra time in the league cup, cruised past St Johnstone in the Scottish cup (score line absolute flattered them).

So would be the underdogs to go up absolutel but we are not just here making up numbers, the idea we have just peaked at the seasons end is also all wrong see below our form the last 20 games is only bettered by Dundee Utd. That’s not peaking that’s fantastic consistency for over half the season.

    We’ve beat Partick once.

I like and admire your case but I’d rather we kept going about things quietly, for obvious reasons. However that ship seems to have sailed already/somewhat understandably given the hype.  I’m not even so sure I can ever be arsed with top league football due to VAR and I’d be surprised if I wasn't the only football fan in the world who thinks like this.

Tell you what if someone does come in for McCabe in the summer we could do a lot worse than him as a replacement.

If I remember right there was chat that he was interested and possibly even interviewed at the time we appointed Murray. He was at Kelty in the lowland league at that time or maybe even just left that position. That’s not important now anyway but I was chatting to a guy at work yesterday (typical old firm fan), he was giving it ‘McCabe is too good for Airdrie’. He’s probably going to become that but I think what a lot of people don’t realise is that as good as McCabe has been for us, we are equally as good for him. It looks like he has full trust and control to just get on with it, he has his own people around about him even the guy from Consillium. I don’t see many other clubs that would allow that.  Further to this and without either jinxing it or getting too far ahead our club is in a very decent position, whether it was by luck, educated decisions or both, who cares?  Our board know that McCabe isn’t going to be around forever and are probably always reassessing the options available to them if and when he moves on, it just seems so calculated.

  4. Just seen that we’ve had some players in at a local primary school. I can’t remember the last time anything like that happened and it’s also been something that we’ve seemed to miss out on. Right now is the best time I’ve had following Airdrie that I can properly remember and it’s as good a time as any to let the local kids know that there’s a team on their doorstep playing decent football in a competitive setting. You’re never going to get every kid in Airdrie to come and support us but even just having that presence might attract a few new faces at games. While we are on an upwards trajectory I hope the club are doing everything in their power to continue it and preserve it.

  5. Has anyone else noticed how poor (by his own standards) McMaster has been recently? It seems like he’s really struggling with the physicality at times but impressing technically other times. He also seems to get a really easy ride of it when he is poor where as others like Telfer etc get it stinking when they don’t hit at least 8/10.

I think we could manage his game time a bit better which would be easier if we had Aiken fit.

Videos today showing you’re still the horrible little club you always will be.

Child been taken to hospital after being bottled - be good to see if the club and fellow fans make an efforT to stamp out this scumbag behaviour once and for all.

Shite comments on some horrible behaviour. Take a look at the club and a wider support before coming on here to run your mouth.

  7. Is it not about time there was some sort of FFP introduced? This lot are really taking the piss now. The chicken man and his washed money really shouldn’t be welcomed to the leagues until there’s some sort of regulation in place.

I've not heard anything directly from them, but I think they are doing some things.  For instance I remember one of the SLO folk asking on the Facebook group what sorts of things they'd like them to raise with the club, and one of them was getting them to announce matchday attendances, which they didn't used to do and do now.  There might be other things as well, but I did notice that.

There’s definitely something happening in regards to honouring the 1924 and also in regards to the history of the club being visible around the stadium (I think) too.
