I had a single issue with the young Sons, three years ago which was settled amicably by mutual compromise.

I still go and continue sponsorship when I can and the Young Sons still go.

The only thing I drank on Wednesday night was water.  What exactly is it that you're unhappy about?

    The exhibition is excellent BTW.

Pleased everything got settled satisfactorily for all parties.

  2. Some positives maybe from the PP is that Mckee and Mclean have more time to return and will give Garrity more time to mix with the squad.

Hopefully we can kick on with less stress by taking this as game no 1 not no 7...petty and psychological  i know but so much of football is.

Also as mentioned by SONS FC lets hope the M.O.M curse is broken. If I were a manager I would bin it until the season is over.

That's the unbeaten run gone, then.

Thats always a fear but this time im less scared , perhaps foolish, but  less scared.

That is a blast from the past big Carlo was a decent centre back and I’m sure we signed him from a west Lothian junior team. Gavin Murray the then manager brought in a few decent players from that area.

Gavin Murray ....was he not a plumber?OR HEATING ENGINEER? I think he signed Paul Hunter who was a class act. Also stuart Wilson who always seemed to score vs us.Graham Bell was another player from that era who grabbed goals against us IIRC.

Our record at New Boghead in recent years has been atrocious for the most part, but I can mind a 4-0 win, a 4-2 win, a 3-0 including a ludicrous bicycle kick from Jonny Smart.

At the same time, we've been decent at Bayview, but got mullered 6-0 in between wins against Dunfermline Athletic and Aberdeen in the League Cup in 2011.

Would take a brave person to predict this one.

    0-0???

Not sure if you are an older EF fan or not but wht was your verdict on Carlo Crolla?Played late 80s early 90s..

It's funny. Normally when we need a result I look to see when we have East Fife at home.

I'm guessing that when you guys need a result you do likewise and see when we're next at Bayview. Kind of feels like we're living in parallel universe here where both teams are sitting at the right end of a table.

I've not had a good feeling about this game for a few weeks. Probably PTSD caused by our recent record in Methil. I'd take a draw.

Deffo  take a draw..no mclean or mckee and garrity out......draw would be a good result

I'm pals with Ally Loves dad and met him for a beer before the game today, he was the first one to call him an arsehole for his challenge but some of the abuse that family have been through the last week is completely out of order. Allys Mrs has had death threats and that must have an effect on people whether they believe the threats are genuine or not. He also said he'd had a wee "argument" with Carsy over penalties, and today I think we actually witnessed Carsy being a proper captain despite not having the armband - he didn't even argue with Ally when he grabbed the ball for the first pen knowing what he'd been through this week, and after the first was dispatched he had no say in the second. We appear to have a terrific team spirit this season and long may it continue. Hopefully Ally Love can build on today and grab a few more goals and Carsy can continue strolling it at the back.

I'll save my comments on the match for the match thread as they might be a bit more negative than others (sorry, I cant help myself) but I promise I'm a pleased Sons fan tonight!

I think negatives are justified as are the positives. We started crap and against a better team would have been turned over. But turned it around second half and we do seem to have a decent team spirit which is vital in any team. Not getting carried away as we have a fragile first team that could do with another couple of bodies as well as shipping others out on loan. But an unbelievable start.

Great for Ally Love after the nastiness from the **** midweek.

Lovely 2-1 wins for Dumbarton and Chelsea. I’ll take that.

Second that..great personally for Ally today putting all that shite behind him .Onwards and upwards.

This is the sort of game we would have lost last season.

Hope we can just ignore last nights result and go back to the same team we've been using in previous weeks as well assuming no-ones injured and McLean is still out.

Its a good thing Rangers won last night ( NO, BIG TEAM NOT FOUND)as it will distract from all the Ally Love hatred and nonsense.Ally needs to put that behind him and turn up with a clear head for Saturday. It will be extremely difficult to win again especially with a side that has kane hester in their ranks. We are capable of winning it but I expect a really tricky afternoon. In this league anyone can beat anyone. Not many would have forseen AR beating BR  last week so lets not be complacent or cocky.

I can't attend today so perhaps why I feel no excitement but all I have is dread for today. Things going too well for us and not good enough for Stenny, it just feels like one of those that plop you back down to earth to me.

OOFT...BBPF will be on your case for negativity!!!

Its a difficult game as they have a good squad despite not having a great start. The surface will play its part no doubt and our record isnt brilliant there either. However I do hope we can get something from today and we have the players to do so.
