  10. This type of thing is always a disappointment to read, although I really should be inured to it by now as it seems it has always been difficult to obtain a degree of respect for Blackburn United’s off field achievements from many within and without the game. All too often these achievements are summarily dismissed in just such an offhand and dismissive way. I don’t wish to list on a public forum all that has gone into taking Blackburn United from a one team Junior side playing out of a dilapidated and unfit for purpose old ground to the multi-team, all-inclusive Club that it is today, playing in what I hope might be thought of as one of the best facilities in West Lothian and, perhaps, further afield too. What I will say is that it has taken a dozen plus years of a small core of peoples time to arrive at where we are today and there has been no little sweat spilled and there has been no little tears – tears of frustration and tears of sadness too. Fortunately there has been no blood spilled – as far as I’m aware! My username isn’t a pseudonym and I’m contactable directly through the club website so please do so, if you wish, and I would be happy to arrange to meet you at New Murrayfield Park to give you just a flavour of the efforts that small core of people have put in and what that small core have had to sacrifice to achieve what we have at our club. If it was as simple as “filling out forms” then I might just have had a much less stressful time over the years.
  11. For any who would care to help, a vote in Blackburn United's favour at https://twitter.com/StadiumPrint/status/1126043228850020352 would be very much appreciated.....thank you in advance!
  12. Blackburn United are thrilled to announce that the Club have been accepted as full members of the Scottish Football Association after an application for membership was approved by the board of the SFA and confirmed today by Chief Executive Ian Maxwell. At the conclusion of a long and at times complex process, the Club were audited at the beginning of the year on all applicable licensing criteria contained in the SFA Licensing Manual (a document encompassing both a National and European regulatory system - see https://bit.ly/2tojDGZ) and were assessed to have met entry level criteria on all pertinent points involving first team football, stadia, codes of practice, legal, financial and administrative requirements. The Club’s license to compete in the Scottish Cup from next season onwards is now assured and marks another step in our continuing drive to advance every aspect of football in the community of Blackburn. The Club would like to thank everyone who has helped make this achievement possible. The draw for the preliminary rounds of the William Hill Scottish Cup is expected to take place in mid-July.
  13. A famous name tells the Off the Ball team that you get good value for money watching Blackburn United!
  14. Fantastic gesture from one of our age group coaches. Competitively we might not yet be where we want to be as a club, but those involved in what we are doing at the moment are already better than we could have hoped for them to be.
  15. United’s U20s don’t face their Camelon counterparts until Friday 10th August, 7:30pm kick-off at New Murrayfield Park. The U20s also host Murieston United U21s at New Murrayfield Park on Friday 3rd August, 7:00pm kick-off.
