  1. Did a similar journey in reverse a good number of times in the 80’s/90’s and 2000’s. Best moment was sharing a chip shop queue with a bus load of unhappy Ross County supporters in Aviemore after our Cup Final win.
  2. As a (slightly) less mature fan than Chapelhall Chap, I would also endorse your comments. I remember freezing my bits off at a scottish cup tie at Arbroath in the early seventies. January , and the only reason it was on was because the TV cameras had turned up. I'd also like to add that I think the current team are the best "footballing" Airdrie side I have watched in seven decades.
  3. I read that the home club get 15% for expenses and any hospitality income. 50% goes to SPFL and remainder split between the two teams. so 32.5% of the gate to the home team, 17.5% to the away team Not a huge money spinner.
  4. Strange interview with Brian Rice. It would appear that everyone else was at fault apart from him. Named and shamed one player but didn’t recognise his keeper for saving them from an absolute hammering. No recognition of the fact that he appeared to have no idea how to deal with a rampant Airdrie. Bullied? No. Outplayed and outthought? Yes. On most occasions over the years our games against Alloa have be tight affairs, but not yesterday.
  5. Home game for me. 45 minutes up the road in the car. Absolutely freezing.
  6. I've been to one u18 game this season. He's tall, he scored , got subbed. There are some decent players for that level in the squad. Unfortunately, as there were no team lines or team announcements, I haven't a clue who they were.
  7. The 1961 game was my first visit to Hampden, with my Father who had been at the 1955 game. Seats in the old North Stand and a hammering from Celtic. Not Lawrie Leslie's finest 90 minutes. The run to the semi final was brilliant with wins away to Motherwell and Ayr. I believe the attendance at Fir Park was 19,000.
  8. The Excelsior Stadium is situated in North Lanarkshire. The Stadium is owned by our Majority Shareholder.
  9. Thanks very much for your usual erudition Chap. I’ve missed the last few games, but hope to be back soon. (Maybe not, as my absence has coincided with our winning run). I also celebrated with my first 2022 Curry. oneards and upwards
  10. Jim Baxter first time round with the ‘Gers. Honourable mentions to Alan Gilzean and Kenny Dalglish.
  11. I was at that game. We were behind the goals to the left of the old main stand - where the Thistle support sit now {when they get in}. Davie Mcwilliams in goal for us , I think ,and we couldn't see further than the half way line in the second half. We hear shouts (our players) and the keeper came back into his box and told us we'd scored! Were you at that one Chapelhal Chap? Happy memories of Firhill - especially the Spring Cup Final.
  12. Kept falling over on my Mac, but I eventually read the instructions and tried a different channel. Perfect after that. Struggling to pass comment on performances as I couldn't make out many players Individually because of the funny camera angle and yellow kit. Recognised wee Easton when he collapsed in a heap for the penalty. Good workout played at a pace that will do them good. Couldn't believe the number of familiar names in the Kelty line up.
