  1. You'd probably struggle to find many managers that won't sign a player like dgw if allowed by their bod. Christ how many managers have signed Lithgow now or Declan Gallagher. Down south guys like Lee Hughes who killed someone and was jailed for 6 years for dangerous driving had managers queuing up to sign him when he got out of jail . Ched Evans was courted by numerous teams before his conviction was quashed. Managers jobs is to put the best 11 players they can on the park .
  2. We don't need anyone super just someone competent . He managed to have Raith above us despite his budget being about a third of McKinnon/m and ms. Whether Raith would've won it who knows but was a much better achievement than us considering how much money we had to throw about. Nobody has said anything will take years to fix but it won't happen overnight either. The bod are currently working 7 days a week and uncovering more by the minute but if we get the right manager in and recruitment is far better we should be there or there about next season.
  3. If the bod leaked like a seive we'd know who the manager was now. Instead we have numerous rumours and he said she said on about 3 or 4 different names definitely getting the job.
  4. Correct. Won the league before. Excellent contacts Recruitment record is very good on a restricted budget. Has shown he can also compete in the championship. Ticks all the boxes for me
  5. Doubt Raith will offer him anything or they would have by now. He'll be elsewhere next season whether it's us or not who knows. Not sure about the unlikeable guy as I don't know him from Adam but he seems to get his team's playing for him and that's the main thing.
  6. Yeah although certainly the fact that Morton probably wouldn't exist without these fans buying into it probably helped boost their numbers. Fans always tend to come out in numbers when clubs are facing disaster or of course doing very well. We currently have a malaise about our club caused by previous boards eagerness to take the supporters for granted. We need to hope that a new manager and some encouraging signings will change that and hopefully a publicity drive by the fss at season ticket time with membership forms in the season ticket pack etc will help encourage others to join up .
  7. Where have you been the last year? Had to check this was the first of may and not April. The msg doesn't exist any more FFS. Ritchie and Alexander are now minority share holders and can value the club at anything they want to as it means feck all. They have also indicated that they will hand over their shares to the fss if we make a success of it. What a lot of nonsense.
  8. Or we may have a manager lined up who already knows who he wants to keep or move on. Who knows.
  9. The only manager that could make some of these guys look totally different is Lee miller funnily enough Aye and kept on mentioning how brilliant feckin nesbitt was.
  10. Exactly crazy deal which really doesn't leave him in a great light. Queen's park beware.
  11. Correct. There are teams way below Raith I'd have over our crew.
  12. He must be doing consultancy at cowdenbeath.
  13. Pressure all on them though mind you. Booed off the park tonight. Heids down no form to speak of and a restless home support. You never know.
  14. Paisley care in the community weekend out I see.
  15. Hughes has made a right arse of that. Only 5 wins out his last 20 and if they can't beat queen's at home they could be in real danger of dropping down. Despite bringing in numerous players .
  16. The managers job is to recommend good players to the bod that they want to sign. The bod then make decisions on whether to sign on moral grounds if necessary. Miller and McCracken did exactly the same as mcglynn did but I never saw anyone castigating them for it. He won't be trying to sign dgw for us that's the main thing.
  17. He'd won it before with Raith and was ahead of us in the league despite having about a third of our budget when they got given league one . To then take them to 3rd top of the champ was pretty good going. At the end of the day we know mcglynn can win this league and compete in the championship. We don't know at the moment whether Murray is capable of either. I'd take Murray but I'd prefer mcglynn.
  18. Mcglynns record has trophies on it Murray's doesn't. That's what it's all about surely? They don't hand out prizes for ratios.
  19. Not sure about bene considering his penchant for getting red carded at TFS.
  20. Murray's record is piss poor if you compare it to mcglynns. Hasn't won anything in his managerial career. Not a sausage . I'd be relatively happy with either of them but more confident that mcglynn would get us up. Also he's a football manager not the morale compass of a football club. That's the boards job.

  22. Can't see it being the boy from Annan when for a change there seems to be a few decent options out there.
  23. Think you're lumbered with him for a while yet. Surely you will be paying him off.
