  1. You say that yet a number of players from that academy are now plying their trade every week at clubs higher up the leagues than us. Blues seems to be doing a decent job by all accounts at Morton too. I'd rather we'd had him in recent seasons than some of the dross we've had . The problem for me was that we started selling on players younger and younger which is always going to leave you with a whole in the production line at some point.
  2. Ross knocked back 250k a year to manage queen's park so I can't see him signing up for Raith anytime soon I'm afraid.
  3. If we'd been playing on one like thistles we'd obviously have been relegated.
  4. The fact Raith couldn't find a goalscorer for shite is the reason. Not one of the strikers was inventive or has the brains to get into positions to get on the end of his crosses. They could they just decided to never play him.
  5. I'm sure mcglynn would've been asked if he wanted any offered new deals. Probably why this was released shortly after raiths statement. The fact he doesn't want to keep any of those shitebags is a promising start.
  6. We've had Thomson wasn't the best . Might be a decent backup and coach though.
  7. Seems mcglynn was right royally pissed off with the way the bod expressed his involvement in the whole goodwillie saga and that's why he wants out. The boy sim is some piece of work. He and Gary deans would make some pairing.
  8. I think you should maybe ask John mcglynn about that one.
  9. Stuck out to face the press for his chairman's feck up need I say more.
  10. Left it a bit late in the day. Don't think he was happy in the way they hung him out to dry with the dgw affair.
  11. Hamilton make money off their ground but livi who knows.
  12. He's never been relegated with Raith either though. He gets then in the championship moves on to a bigger club then someone else relegates them he comes back in and gets them back up again . It's not his fault his successors are bloody useless.
  13. Well backed but not allowed to play the player he spent the cash on. Surely if he'd been allowed to play goodwillie or had been told no you must sign another player with that money then he may well have at least got you in the playoffs.
  14. One player you signed for decent cash never played a game though and that surely was the bods decision not mcglynn. You can argue all day over the rights and wrongs of mcglynn putting him to your board as a possible signing but they okayed it and then refused to let him kick a ball. Whilst most of us agree he should never have been signed in the first place once the bod has agreed to sign him it's not the managers fault hes not allowed to play him yet the cash is out his budget surely.
  15. That depends on where their resources and attendances should have them though. Should Hearts sack Robbie neilson because they aren't winning the champions League? If you've got a manager whose already got you overachieving at times then getting rid of him is fraught with danger just ask Charlton fans. Different when your under achieving obviously but you have to be realistic. Raith don't have the attendances or resources to expect to be a premier League club it's as simple as that . When clubs start to get greedy that's when issues start. Look at us allowing Hughes to sign dad's army in search of the allusive top 6 when we were doing just fine the way we were. Now look at us.
  16. I know. It is make believe and it is quite humorous at times. It fills a whole where good football should be. My only concern is that some people may think it is factual when it is just second guessing. I am just desperate for a real appointment to be made so we know where we are heading. Do you really think there are now people on here that think Jean lecsinel is going to be the next Falkirk manager.
  17. Come on a wee bit of realism here when was the last time Raith were in the top flight? You're in a position your resources deserve. Last year you over achieved to come 3rd and yet you think you should be an established premiership side. Livi have all sorts of dodgy goings on to fund their team and at Johnstone are a bigger club who make a lot of money through their stadium.
  18. With mcglynn and Murray out of contract in the summer I'm sure either them or their agents will have spoken to any interested parties . They aren't going to wait till the end of the season and have nothing in the pipeline although Murray obviously has the safety of being wanted at Airdrie so will be in no rush. Very few deals will happen exactly according to the rules. You just don't do it so blatantly badly as we did with McKinnon.
  19. The bod can't stop people speculating or thinking they are itk though. Just because people come on here saying this or that doesn't mean a thing especially when people are coming out with a different name every two mins. We've had rice, Murray, miller, mcglynn and the boy Murphy at Annan being cited as primary targets on here. If leaks were the case you'd be getting the name of the manager in your daily newspaper never mind in here. They also can't control the other side leaking info either. So if someone says I heard it from a friend of Murray's whether that is correct or not isn't the bods fault.
  20. I'm just interested to know where do you expect Raith to finish though. As I said they are where given their resources they should be give or take a place up or down. Seems harsh to think anyone could do any better. Than 3rd place in the championship.
  21. He had you 3rd last season and has had you second before. Not sure Raith fans could really expect much more from a manager given the resources available. Bit of a gamble to go for someone else who may not be able to get as much out those resources as mcglynn has surely?
  22. Surely his ceiling at the moment is raiths ceiling though. When you look at attendances and finance 5th place is probably about right for Raith having over achieved last season. Arbroath have skewed the positions a bit with their remarkable run but that won't happen every season. Noone really expected a club with dunfermlines finances to do so badly either. I'd have thought Raith are about where they should be currently in the grand scheme of things. When it comes to patience then that depends on whether there are signs of improvement or not. Next season a playoff spot would be an acceptable level given the budget etc. Certainly he wouldn't last another season like this one but then nor would any other manager.
  23. That's what message boards are all about though mate. People bring rumours to the table you believe them at your own peril. It's not always attention seekers people may think they have a scoop but it turns out to be bollocks. Nothing to get too worried about.
  24. Not at the price clyde were asking. Thankfully.
  25. The only difference though between mcglynn and Rennie, m and m and probably a good number of other managers is that the Raith bod said yes fill your boots. We are going to be restricted to a small amount of managers if one of the criteria is would never sign a player like goodwillie.
