Good start to your Falkirk bingo card:

Sick boy appears with a non witty word vomit response that even embarrasses his fellow fans....

You were the one that came on here flinging totally inaccurate attendance figures about not me.

Once again, you're shooting the messenger, like the debacle and pile on a couple of weeks ago these are not my thoughts. I'm simply recycling musings from your fellow Falkirk fans.

Makes a change from being concerned about our attendances.  You seem more concerned about what we are doing than your own club.

He comes across well but to me he shouid be allowed and enabled to do the job he was recruited for rather than being expected to be a jack of all trades with also leading the youth set up and ‘adding value’ to the football side.

No one can possibly perform all those roles effectively.

Think that's only really been the case whilst they recruit new employees for the new structure. Then he can concentrate on his CEO work.

Possibly. It is definitely a left field appointment which is a bit exciting in that it’s not one of the usual dinosaurs that float around Scottish football. My biggest worry is that they are both very good players who should be starting every week and I don’t think it’s possible to mix the two.

Adam frizzell who has been attracting interest from other clubs seems very happy with the appointment so I am hoping this means he will stay.

Hard not to draw comparisons between this and falkirk appointing miller and McCracken. Maybe slightly different because McCabe and fordyce are current players with the club. Maybe I am clutching at straws emoji2369.png

All joking aside if have thought mccabe with a bit of experience as his assistant would've been a better move and as you say you surely can't have both playing at once ? Will be interesting to see how it goes.

You didn’t get £200k for him - your accounts may have shown that you got £200k for him, but you didn’t. Martindale’s £200k went into your account dirty, and came out clean.

No idea where Martindale’s £200k came from mind you ????

Donaldson was never going to be well liked at livi. He's never assaulted anyone,  dealt drugs or pleasured himself in public.

He starred in the Alloa team that won promotion to the Championship and then did very well at that level. Not sure what ambition beyond that Falkirk have at present?

It's signing players the standard of hetherington that has got us in this mess.  Season you went up you were a mile behind Ayr   and Raith in the league but got in through the playoffs against Raith and a  dreadful Dumbarton side . Starring in that side isn't anything to shout about. Season after you managed to lose to us twice and we were honking under McKinnon.

Two signings by McGlynn so far, Arbroath fans rate Henderson and Pars fans rate Donaldson. Wtf is going on, we don’t sign players that previous clubs fans rate, we aren’t used to this. We normally only sign players that from day one their previous clubs fans tell us they are utter shite and 99.9% of the time they are spot on.

This is a strange new feeling but I like it. Keep it going John 👍

    Apart from alloa.😂

  8. What looks like a positive start on our recruitment. Good to see a manager that can persuade that players Falkirk is the place to be. Let's face it Holt would still be talking to his 12th striker option just now. Guarded optimism that we might finally be heading in the right direction.

  9. If we want to be number one in this league then we need far better than bloody Ruth coming off the bench or starting.  We need to make up 28 points on Airdrie and 15 on the likes of Montrose and then there's the pars and queen's to add to the mix.  Players like Ruth will not cut the mustard I'm afraid.

Did you watch any Alloa v Falkirk games when Hetherington was an Alloa player? He was an absolute stand-out. I was so excited when we signed him. Unfortunately, he's been shite with us.

Yes I did. Wasn't impressed by any of the alloa players that season to be honest. We managed to beat them twice despite being god awful.

Hetherington another good player. As was Dowds. There’s a theme here

Doubt hetherington was ever a good player. Dowds yes there's a player there if used correctly but hetherington is just brutal.  Got away with it at alloa playing avoid relegation football  but in any team that wants to actually win something he's nae use. Never seen a player give the ball away so much . Struggles to pass it 5 yards and can't tackle. The times he got red cards they were for sheer stupidity and not actually just getting stuck in. I'd drive him anywhere that wants him.

There would have been a lot better choices than Kilmarnock so why even set the bar low at Leeds?

We had to be realistic. We couldn’t send out a blanket request and work our way down. We had to target the best and most realistic option as clubs would not confirm a friendly until nearer the time as they wait for European qualification and other factors that may affect plans. Managers also change and may want a different pre season schedule.

Take Hibs for instance. The club first contacted them when Jack Ross was in charge. He was apparently up for it but then got sacked so had to speak to them again and got a date pencilled in mid February. It fell through before it was able to be confirmed but had we still had it pencilled in with then who’s to say Lee Johnson wouldn’t prefer to take them elsewhere? Sorry to say it but playing a low level Scottish opponent won’t feature highly in most managers plans as ideal preparation for the season. Managers will schedule it to give themselves the best start to a season and therefore unlikely to bow to sentiment unless they have a personal connection.

The Killie game wasn’t even confirmed until a few days after their last game of the season. Had they ended in the playoffs then it may not have been confirmed until now. Same with most clubs.

We only had a couple of weeks before the League Cup matches in which to play it too as we wanted to make sure it was before the start of the season and not allow any potential for negativity to affect it. It’s also the Falkirk holidays starting on the 25th of June so wanted to maximise our potential to get as many folk there. Any later than the 24th and a lot of people would have been on holiday.

Hibs fell through mid April so we had to think of a decent alternative quickly. Killie seemed like a really good option to get in a big crowd as they were likely to go up and ofcourse there was the tie in with it being the final and the chance for revenge. Ofcourse they’ll market it as a celebration but the more punters they bring the more money the club makes, that can go towards our first team.

It’s easy to sit and say what if but harder to achieve things when you start to consider what it takes to achieve them.

We’ve never been closed to help though. It’s a bit late in the day now but if you have suggestions to help make this as good as it can be then please email us at Crunchie.initiative@gmail.com. We’re pretty tied in with what we have planned as doing all this in our spare time so if you do have an idea to help make this event better then please be prepared to do the bulk of the work in organising it.

Any chance of getting too near the keeker back for the half time entertainment against the 97 boys?

  13. Some folk on here are completely fecking clueless. Chelsea and Leeds United Jesus. I'm sure either would be delighted to bring their pre season training forward by 3 or 4 weeks so that they can fit this in FFS. Epl sides don't start preseason till July and then two weeks later Leeds are in Australia and Chelsea are in America. We have the league cup starting on the 9th of  July.

Can only imagine anyone making a fuss about the opposition is too young to have seen him and appreciate what it means to get a chance to celebrate Kevin McAllister and immortalise him in our home.

That's quite literally the only reason I can think of for the negativity.

Either that or they're David macnamee.

  15. From the crunchie initiative boys.

'Was going to write this on COYB but thought better to write it on here:

Seen a lot of the stick regarding the friendly against Kilmarnock. I completely understand what is being said and I’ll hold my hands up on behalf of the CI for it being portrayed as though it’s a 25th anniversary celebration of the defeat.

Our proposed friendly with Hibs fell through so we were left trying to think of an alternative and suggested Killie.

The obvious tie in to Crunchie was the final and with it being the 25th anniversary we thought we could market it as a rematch. We were shown the graphic last week and we didn’t clock about how it would be portrayed. It was simply a marketing tool to help promote a friendly to mark the occasion and show Crunchie our appreciation.

At the end of the day we wanted a stand alone friendly to show appreciation to Crunchie and allow the club to make some money in the process.

If you’re having a pop then that’s fine but it’s at me and the rest of the CI. Its a bit deflating to see several people so irate about what is simply a friendly to finally mark the renaming of the stand that we’ve been working for 2.5 years to achieve.

Been critical myself so happy to own up for the mistake. Just hope it doesn’t stop you going to the game.'

Lot of grief over nothing if you ask me and I moan at the best of times.
